Okay... need some guidance/confirmations here....I’m in full liquid /purée stage... Surgery was Tuesday, went home Friday, started purée Saturday, and it’s Sunday... Yesterday I had: Apple sauce for breky (i found it takes my blood thinner med and dissolves well, plus I can finish the whole little cup, so I can ensure I get all my med) About half an Atkins Protein Shake for lunch Some Campbell’s Tomato bisque for lunch (only had a few bites) More shake in the afternoon, Apple sauce for dinner (wasn’t really hungry) And some vanilla pudding with Protein powder mixed in for dessert. Thoughts? I got about the same today, different Soups. Yesterday got about 40’oz of W…

I've have the weirdest sensation of being full and hungry at the same time. I feel like there's food still in my stomach, but at the same time I feel hunger pains. LOL It doesn't happen all the time, but it's disconcerting. Has anyone else felt this? I'm 4 weeks post op now.

I'm 5'0 and 218lbs. I heard that at these figures I will lose much slower. Does anybody have any experience being short and in the lower 200's? How fast did you lose? (I know a slower rate is best but realistically with WLS its different) I'm getting Gastric Sleeve April 2018!!!!!!!!!! Yayy!!!!!!!

Hello everyone, so I am 10 days post op and regretting my decision to no end, had a bout of crying today. The pain in my belly goes and comes and does not tolerate dairy anymore apparently. I can barely sip 15g protein water and that’s it as far as getting my protein in. Wish I would have tried Weight Watchers one last time. I keep reading that things get better but I still have to see what My stomach Can and cant take. How is it possible that our system changes so drastically. I thought I would still be able to eat just not as much and that doesn’t seem to be the case. Some things u just can’t eat anymore. Sorry for being a Debbie downer just a bad day I guess.

When did you start feeling more energy after the sleeve? I'm looking forward to the new energy level everyone enjoys after WLS. I'm 3 weeks post op, so still recovering, but I can't wait to run. Will I have the energy for this in 6 weeks? I'm still tired during the day and of course after work.

Thanks for letting me join the forum. I had gastric bypass on February 27th. I have been struggling with pain but I am still really struggling with a burning and pulling pain from my main incision on the left. I tried to go back to work yesterday, it went horribly. The burning just takes my breath away at times. Sitting the pain is better but standing and making position changes its intense. I am thinking of calling the doctor again it is possible that I went back to work to soon! I am a nurse and took a new job in the NICU so I thought since I was on orientation it might be ok to go back but its becoming evident that was incorrect thinking. I just want some feedb…

Hi all, I am 9 months post op from VSG. I’m wondering if it common to develop hypoglycemia post op? My bariatric NP ordered a 3 hour glucose tolerance test and my glucose levels were below normal. If you have experienced this, what did they do? Is it long-term? Thanks!

I had Gastric Sleeve Surgery on 1/8/18 and I have headaches on a daily basis. It seems as if they occur right after I eat and last for hours. Since I can only take Tylenol and it isn't helping I don't know what else is out there that could help me. Any suggestions? I appreciate any replies!

Hi guys! Just quickly wanted to know how long it took after surgery for you to go back to feeling "normal"? Normal in the sense where you don't feel any more pain from the surgery and where it doesn't hurt when you drink or eat anything? Also after having the surgery, is the feeling of being full "feel" different than the feeling full before you guys had the surgery? Thank You!

So excited to try the ISOPURE protein drink. I started with Apple Melon. I made protein ice cubes last night and just tried one this morning I love it. Helps me to get my protein and liquids in a little bit better than the sipping rule. I also made Crystal Light popsicles and Premier protein popsicles.

I had the gastric bypass. I'm on the pureed stage and I'm totally not feeling food. All I want is popsicles and ice cubes. I have one egg in the morning and after that I'm pretty much over it. I have my ISOPURE protein drinks but ice cube form. Can you guys give me some ideas what to try. I really only like chicken and sausage no other kind of meat.

I had surgery on March 21st, returned home on the 23rd. The only pain I’m experiencing is the biggest incision but I’m feeling a lot of sadness and anxiety. Anxiety that I’m not walking or breathing into the deep breath tool, and that I’m going to develop blood clots. I’m very tired, resting a lot, sleeping a lot. Is this normal 4 days out? I’m usually an on the run, never stop moving kinda gal and the laziness is getting to me I guess. Also crying a lot wondering if I made the right choice? I’m drinking as much as I can. Yesterday I got down 1 preimiere protein and about 30 additional ounces. Today I’m pushing for 64 but I’m weak. Any advice or help would be appreciated.…

For those who have/had chronic migraines, I'm wondering how surgery has affected how often you get migraines. It seems like research is mixed on whether or not WLS improves or worsens migraines. For me a low calorie diet tends to trigger migraines at least in the first few days (though during the pre-op diet I have been mostly ok). I normally take a prescription NSAID for migraines (1-3x times a month), and while my surgeon said I could keep taking it, I'm still a bit worried about taking NSAIDs post-op.

Hello, i am posting for my wife who had her gastric sleeve procedure on 2/28. She has been having alot of "buyers remorse" and feels like she was tricked into thinking this would be an easy lifestyle adjustment and i am doing all i can to help but it doesnt feel like enough some days. she just was able to start her pureed foods and has been having a really rough time with making sure she gets enough fluid through out the day and the diet plan her surgeon gave is realllly confusing to us. the main issue we are having is water, how on earth is she supposed to get enough water in during the day, i know she has to get at least 64 ounces of fluid but how does she fit eating i…

I’ve been doing well with training but I still have a very sensitive stomach and am wondering if anyone can recommend food ideas for the days leading up to the race where I can’t really carb load. Had my Roux n Y Gastric Bypass 8.5 years ago. Initially lost 140lbs. Last 5 yrs put on 30, but have held steady for 2. Hip problems keep me from walking as much as I used to walk. (3-5 miles a day). I am going to try the pouch reset, has anyone out there tried it? Thoughts? Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

Supposed to start taking Calcium at 4 weeks. That will be Thursday. I was re reading my instructions yesterday and noticed that it says it must be calcium citrate. Of course, I purchased all my post op vitamans and supplements before surgery. I now notice that I picked up calcium carbonate. Question is what is the difference and why only citrate? Maybe the way it is absorbed? I googled it but really just came up with a bunch of junk ads. I know I can call but really don't feel like it. Anyone?

I had my surgery on February 13 this year and surgery went fine. I lost about 45 pounds to date and did not have any issues. I’m trying to prevent stalling because the weight was coming off pretty regularly and now it has drastically slowed down. I burn about 700 cal a day and my energy is fine. My main issue is getting enough calories. I consume on average about 500-600 cal a day if I’m lucky. I get 90-100 g of protein mostly from shakes. I never get hungry and forget sometimes to eat. I’m not looking to consume more food just raise my calories but I am worried about stalling. Did anyone stall because of too few calories and if so what did you do to balance it?

Well. I made an unwise food decision today. Sigh. And dumped. Like badly. An hour on the toilet and then having it come out both ends at once (more embarrassing still I'm at a relatives house not at home so they all know!) but what I want to know is what's normal after dumping. Now that I've dumped. I feel exhausted. I don't want clothes on. I feel hot all over my body. I just want to lay naked with ice on me. Is this normal ? Those of you who have dumped what feelings physical sensations did you have after the dumping ended? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

So I am post op day 2 with gastric bypass and still at the hospital because of dehydration. I cant seem to get the liquids down. Also just started this evening I am belching like crazy and it hurts! I get this burning epigastric pain and it makes me nauseous then I burp a ton. Anyone else experience this? Also how is the heck did you guys get 64 oz of water down everyday? I have barley gotten through a 16oz bottle of water. They are sending me home later this evening but I am scared I will just end up in the ER with dehydration.

I had Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery on 2.15.18. I couldn't keep anything down no matter what it was. I ended up back in the hospital and they gave me a CT Scan with contrast to check for leakage...( Barium is the MOST DISGUSTING!!!). Anywho,There wasn't any leakage but I was extremely dehydrated and had Stricture in my lower GI. Dehydration to the point they had to bring in a radiologist and apply a Ultra Sound to find a good vain for a I. V. as nurses destroyed my vains.. Not their fault might I add.The next morning I had Balloon Enteroscopy. That was on 3.10.18. Since then, I can eat, actually sip liquids and eat sugar fre popsicles. Depression has taken over and …

I lost about 10 pounds my first week after surgery, and this week (week 2) I've only lost 3 pounds (and have since gone up 2 pounds). I've been having some trouble with constipation and dehydration this week. I also had IV fluids a few days ago (though it was for other reasons). So I thought it might be a function of that. But I'm concerned I might be having too much sugar. I've been having a small cup of apple juice (100 calories) and diluted gatorade most days (maybe 100-150 calories total). My protein shakes and soups have zero sugar. My doctor said I could have juice and gatorade, but I'm seeing a lot of people say they consume only sugar-free drinks…

My instructions are sip 64 ounces water, about 70-80 oz protein through liquids/yogurt/shakes. And sip the protein every 2-3 hours in "meals" stopping water before and after protein for 15-30 minutes. I am not exactly on the 2-3 hours, but I am reaching the protein and total water. But, my stomach still growls and I do get hungry at times. Is this normal? Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

Got home from hospital a couple hours ago. It's hard to get up, and sit down. I've had a shot of codine/Tylenol liquid 3 hours ago, but it still hurts. Is there anything I can do? Dr. said to ask nurses for a heating pad, but during stay, I don't think it helped at all really, but I was also allowed to self inject through IV a painkiller every so often. Would a heating pad help? Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

Sleeved on 3/1. Clear liquids 3/2. Doctor approved me for full liquids 3/5. I don't see him again until 4/9, but he said I'd be on soft foods before my appointment. He also said to start soft foods sometime this week but my memory is failing me (I really need to start writing these things down). My paperwork says Week 1 clear liquids, weeks 2 & 3 full liquids. Weeks 4 through 6 soft foods. When would I start soft foods? I've been on full liquids for two full weeks, which to me is week 2 & 3, since he released me to full liquids early. But then my paperwork says about soft foods "This stage represents the changes that you will be making in your eating habits on a p…

I made the ricotta bake. It was hands down the best thing I’ve eaten in weeks. Melty cheese, bubbly cheese, so. much. cheese. I portioned out my 2 ounces, happily ate it, and thought “a little more won’t hurt.” I ate maybe another 1.5 ounces. That 1.5 ounces is still sitting in my throat 30 minutes later. I am miserable. I can’t decide if I should try and make myself sick or just sit quietly and suffer. I know I shouldn’t be beating myself up, but I’m screaming at myself inside. Why did I do this? I knew exactly what was going to happen, but it didn’t deter me. I know it’s only been a few weeks since my surgery and my mentality won’t change overnight, but it’s scary to s…

I am sure there are several threads about this but when I try to search a gazilion threads come up. I am post op day 6 and on full liquids. I noticed that I can easily down a cup of jello or pudding in 10 min without a problem. I don’t feel full at all. I have stretched it out to 20 min but doesn’t make a difference. Also since I can have cream soups I made some cream of potato and was able to eat 1/2 a cup in 10 min easily. I still never feel full. Is this normal?
