New incision pain, 10 days post-op

Has anybody started having incision pain 10 days post-op? Incisions look great, not red or warm/hot. Its mainly my big incision, and it doesn't hurt at all if I sit quietly. Could this be nerves healing? What do you think??

Is it the incision itself or the area surrounding the incision? I ask because I think some people feel pain after surgery as the blood flow comes back to heal things (is there a newish bruise as well), but I don't know what the expected timeline is for that.

Its the whole near region, but most intense at the big incision. It feels like nerve pain to me? But I'm a bit surprised by this development. Oh, and I never actually bruised!

Hi there

i had this; the hospital ran me through a ct scanner as could be some unpleasant things so if it persists I would recommend going to hospital

in my case the ct scan showed nothing but that didn’t help the pain which persisted from week 2 to week 6

saw my surgeon yesterday and he explained that it was because they tightly stitch the muscle to prevent hernia. As the muscle heals, the stitches may pull.

In my case the pain lasted to week 6 . Then I moved awkwardly and tore the stitches. Lots of pain like being stabbed but surgeon not too worried as he said at 6 weeks hernia unlikely

hopefully it’s nothing serious for you too

but it’s wretched, the pain was dreadful

you have my sympathy

For me it was internal stitch and nerve healing from the incision sote that they removed the stomach through.

Hope you feel better soon girlie and that it's nothing!

Thanks for reassuring words. I think its part of healing, but I called dr's office just to be sure. Still waiting for call back. I'll post what they say in case someone else is experiencing something similar. Fortunately, sitting still means no pain :-)

My incision sites only got tender after all of the paper stitches had been removed and I was back to work. I had absolutely no pain before that.
Nothing that painful, but I was aware from time to time of where my work shirt was rubbing against the largest incision site in particular.
