Hi all, I have regained 60lbs. I am 5 years out and need someone as supportive as I can be. I was thinking text, maybe phone calls, FB? I need a kick in my a@@ to get my head in the game. I'm addicted to slider foods I'm new here so I don't know how to friend people or search so well yet! Please, if God is leading you to me and vice versa, let's get in contact! I'm 42, live in bako, ca. Married, have a 21 year old son in the Army and a 4 year old miracle daughter. Look forward to meeting some new friends! Oh and I like long walks on the beach....ok maybe not long...like 5 minutes?

My surgery date is set for Dec. 1. I thought I was SOOOOO smart to wait till after Thanksgiving so I could have my "last" Thanksgiving. DUH!!! I forgot all about the 7 day pre-surgery liquid diet!!! Looks like it will be turkey broth instead of turkey for me. LOL. Guess it's as good of a time as any to start that part of the journey.

So I am 1 year out from bypass. Here lately I have been experiencing more and more camping pain in lower belly. To the extent of me getting into a fetal position and hoping it goes away. I can not stand straight up because it hurts. When gas comes out, it is a relief but pain comes right back. I have not been 100% on the no sugar thing. I notice it happens on the days that I had sugar. This morning I ate a donut. By 2:00 I felt the pAin coming. Now it is 10:30 and I am hunched over in severe pain. Is this due to sugar? Dehydration? Something else? Plus when I do have sugar, I really don't dump immediately.

I got my approval for my revision from band to bypass today, exactly 7 years and 1 day after getting the band. It has been a VERY long process and I am so relieved to know that I am finally at the end of my band problems. I started the process for revision 5 months ago, so it will be 6 months from when I started talking to doctors about revision until surgery, but now that i know it is actually happening I am SO relieved. December 4 is surgery day. I hope I am not super tired at Christmas, but I am prepared. I will have to start the liquid diet the third week of November! Other than worrying about being tired I am pumped. Woo hoo! I want to suceed this time. I ha…

I am just starting to feel like cooking again - 7 weeks out from RNY. I have a few friends who've had the surgery who say they cannot handle rice, even years post-surg. Anyone have this problem? I love rice and I've been wanting to make a stir-fry. I know I shouldn't eat a lot of rice, but a little in there would be nice.

Ok I have been avoiding this app and discussions. I am 7 months out down 73 lbs. I am completely off the wagon. I have very little support at home because my soon to be husband has no control. I am back to eating out and have completely stalled my weight loss. I feel I have failed. I need some motivation. I need some support. So I am turning to the app that I turned my back on. Has this happened to anyone else??? I feel so ashamed.

I am 3 days post, and today I started to think about food. I'm not actually hungry, but I'm thinking about food alot. I even had a dream about food. They did warn me in teaching that this would happen, but I'm curious what everyone did to deal with this.

I was heavy since I was 4 years old and was bullied viciously until high school and by that time I had absolutely no self esteem... Whenever I went in public I was given dirty looks for being in the "skinny clothes" stores... People are always saying "you could be gorgeous if you were thin" and I'm thinking to myself so I'm not pretty now ? I just want to ask if anyone can relate or tell me if they got self esteem after the WLS

Last night I went for my sleep study. The tech was setting everything up, explaining how this was going to work, etc. We some how got on the topic of WLS. He didnt know I was going for WLS & thats why my DR sent me for the study. He looked shocked that I would be considering the WLS. He said to me that I wasnt even that big, wls is more for people that are like 600lbs, and that he thinks DRs are just pushing surgery for so many people as a money maker. *Probably why they are sending me for this sleep study, cuz it would help qualify me for the surgery...not that they are really concerned that somebody my age *27* could possibly have it. Yes, granted I am not 300, 400,…

I am 3 weeks out from surgery. I was losing pretty good the first 2 weeks and then last week when I moved on to soft foods really haven't lost anything. I have only lost 15 pounds. I am wondering if it is because I am not getting in enough calories. Last week I was getting in about 250. The past 2 days I've managed to get closer to 350-400. Where is everyone else at?

How many pounds did it take to go down a scrub size? I'm 2 weeks post op and down 21lbs from my highest weight. I wear 2x scrubs, I still have 2 weeks to be home and I'm wondering if I should go out to get new sizes now or wait until after I start back working. They were kind of falling off of me then so I'm sure I might be swimming in them come time to start working. What did you do?

So I was thinking, before surgery, we go on diets, many diets. Some of which limit food quantity. Our stomachs shrink in size. Correct? After surgery, and we have our tiny little pouches, everyone is worried about stretching them out. For those who may have had surgery a while ago and fell off the wagon and gained substantial weight back, is it plausible to think that if they were to get back on track with eating proteins first, limiting portion size, drinking their water, etc. Following the plan, that their pouch would shrink back to it's post surgical size? Once cut, does our pouch lose elasticity and become unable to expand and contract as it did prior to surgery? …

Up until I hit about three months give or take a few days I've noticed my weight loss slow to a crawl 10-11lbs every two weeks to about half that. I knew this was coming from reading other people's posts, and I'm not totally blind sided. I'm just curious how others got through this and/or boosted their weight loss again. I'm thinking doing a shake for Breakfast and lunch, currently I'm only doing on for breakfast, and maybe make my evening hike a little longer. Anything helps thanks in advance for replying!

Hi, I had the RYN Dec. 2013. I've lost 80 lbs. from my highest weight and 60 lbs. since surgery. Although I am so grateful for the surgery, I feel very frustrated that I am not losing more weight and am struggling with my protein, water and daily vitamins. I am highly motivated to lose more weight in a healthy way but really am looking for a mentor to help guide me along. My surgeon retired 3 months after my surgery and I just feel lost. I am 5"4 and 190 lbs and have teetered between 188 and 190 for months. I had surgery on my foot 2 months ago which inhibited me from excercising. I would love some help and advice from others who have been successful. I want so badly to…

I had my procedure(s) on Minday the 27th. I'm having tremendous post-op pain and my doctor "doesn't believe" in pain meds so he gave me 5-325 norcos. Now mind you, besides the bypass, I had two hernia and an esophogeal repair. I'm not sure what's worse, the pain from incisions or the pain from the gas still trapped. Any ideas in how to get that gas moving? Seeing the surgeon tomorrow but haven't slept in three days.

I had a situation today that I wondered if any of you have had to deal with. I try not to get attention. I don't like attention. I am glad that people know I am getting healthy. I am glad that I have changed in looks as I lose my weight. I am having to change how I dress now too. I don't want to spend money on pants as i get smaller so I bought a couple skirts. I wore one to church today. There were all kinds of comments about how i looked. I am ok that they are saying nice things. Does this mean anytime I wear anything different then what I have for years, will I get comments every time? Inside I am thrilled but I have always wanted to behind the scene not showy at a…

Hi, I have some questions for those out more than 5 months: 1) How many calories a day did you eat when you were losing? 2) How many calories a day do you eat to maintain? 3) Do you crush your pills? I'm almost 5 months out, should I crush my pills? 4) I just had blood work and am not vitamin deficient. Why am I so very fatigued? 5) Do you take stool softeners daily? I'm recovering from a partial blockage in my colon. I'm not sure if I should make a habit out of stool softeners to prevent this problem. Thanks! -Hilary

I am considering having my sleeve converted to a RNY. I was always very scared of RNY because of all the malabsorbtion talk. I know everyone has it, that is the point and it helps us lose weight. But are actual complications/problems common from it? As in, I read about someone who had to have a feeding tube put into her remanent stomach. Thoughts?
