I am 3 weeks out from surgery. I was losing pretty good the first 2 weeks and then last week when I moved on to soft foods really haven't lost anything. I have only lost 15 pounds. I am wondering if it is because I am not getting in enough calories. Last week I was getting in about 250. The past 2 days I've managed to get closer to 350-400. Where is everyone else at?

Despite what you might hear it is NOT from too few calories. Your body simply must adjust to the loss. It is very rare that somebody would lose at the exact same rate every week. You are going to have weeks that you don't drop a pound and weeks that you drop 10 pounds. This is why it is often a good idea to only weigh yourself once a week. You have to do what is right for you, but know that it is perfectly normal that you will not lose every week.

Best wishes!

Carol

I know that every body is different and will lose at a different rate but at this point I am losing so slow I am trying to figure out why. Obviously I will stick with it as I don't really have a choice but just seeing if there is something I should adjust. :) thanks for your replies.

I lost 15 lbs before I hit a 12 day stall and didn't lose an ounce. I just kept doing what I was supposed to and lost 5 lbs this last week. I haven't weighed my self yet, I'm doing that on Friday but I suspect I've lost a few more pounds. Don't be discouraged. I'm getting around the same amount as you and I'm only a week or so ahead of you right now.

Thanks AuriP. I'm pleased with the weight I've lost until I read people that have lost like 40 pounds in a month and then I'm like...what am I doing wrong. Lol

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
