I am staying strong but please, send me some of your pre-op diet success stories of peering through! Surgery is 2-17. I can have: 3 Bariatric Advantage shakes, 2 BA bars, a cup of 1% milk, 1 banana, up to 24 oz of broth, & up to 3 sf jellos or Popsicles per day. The BA shakes are not good. I tried using flavored liquid stevia with them but it made them sickeningly sweet. I tried blending with ice. The only good combo was a chocolate shake with half a frozen banana & 4oz of milk/4oz Water, blended with ice. I can't even choke down chicken broth on day 2! I've heard it gets easier after day 3 so please tell me how you got through it! I have 12 more days of t…

So I had my last bariatric appointment early January. I was asked by the diabetic nurse to get my A1C down from 10.2! I decided to give myself 8 weeks from January 1st, but so far have not been consistent. I was told to leave 8-12 weeks before going back to the lab for the A1C test. Life is crazy right now and I'm so not focused on the weight loss surgery or managing my sugars right now. I'm so unfocused, I feel like I should be on an insulin pump. Just venting, but if anyone has experience, please feel free to share with me.

I had RNY on October 12th. I haven't had a drink in so long. It would be nice to have some sort of a cocktail. I would love to hear from anyone. How soon did you have your 1st drink after your surgery? What did you have to drink or what might you suggest? I use to drink tequila.... 180 0 Gold with diet lime Coke, but I gave up all soda, then I began to mix it with Minute Maid light lemonade. Now....absolutely nothing!

WELCOME ABOARD!!! Just found out a few days a go that 6 October is my surgery date. I thought I would get this topic rolling. I have been down this road before. Last year I started the 3 months of losing weight for the insurance folks and even got a surgery date of 22 February. Then I went to my Pysch appointment and she said no to me having the surgery. I was not in a good place mentally and so we have worked on getting me to a better place. I started out at 396 and I had lost the 35 pounds the doc wanted me to lose but once the surgery was cancelled I went off what I was doing and now I am even heavier. 403 is my current weight. My sleep apnea has gotten a lot…

Okay so I feel like I can't talk to my doctors or family about what I'm feeling so I need to vent to you all. I'm just over 6 weeks out. I have lost 22lbs. I'm happy with my weight loss so far but I crave EVERYTHNG and have since day 1. According to my surgeon I'm not supposed to have any carbs or sweets for the first 12-18 months. I get that this stuff is bad for you, really bad, but if I had self control to not eat those things before surgery then I would have done it. I just thought that after surgery cravings and this hunger would go away. I am trying to tell myself that as long as I stay on track 90% of the time that it's okay to have a "cheat day" or even a "che…

As I was standing in the bathroom at work, looking in the mirror, I noticed my clothes were a little disheveled, so I began to straighten them up...you know...in case I had to go to ER. Well.....I adjusted my sexy VS front clasp bra and felt immediate relief. I could fill the Water going down. Apparently, my bra was hindering my ability to digest liquids today. I'm walking 30 minutes a day. I am so discouraged. The 11 lbs came off in the first two weeks. This last week I have lost nothing.

I am having a revision from sleeve to bypass due to severe acid reflux issue. When I had my sleeve, I was on a forum here and a girl introduced me to a closed/secret group on Facebook. All of the members on there had surgery the same month, so we all were going through the same things at the same time. As a result we have formed friendships in addition to support. Is there a group for Feb 2016 patients?

Hi Everyone, I'm a newbie here. My surgery is set for Feb 16. I'm wondering what I will feel like waking up from surgery. I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago laproscopically, so I know about the gas they fill you up with... Is there much pain, though? I know they will have me up and walking hours after surgery, and I'd just like a heads-up on how others felt. Thanks! :-)

The yogurt and shakes are getting old already but not much else seems to go down well so feeling slightly stuck. Thanks for the help!

Please any knowledge and experience helps me to figure out if I should try it or wait and of course listen to my gut which is saying yes its fine you have just a few more months to go! I know it's said that if you crave chocolate you could be low on Magnesium (just went through this last week...it's all I wanted and I subbed with sugar free hot cocoa). This week it's gummy bears! I broke down and had some sugar free ones and you would have thought I was eating 24K gold, they were so good. I am wondering if it's the gelatin I am craving, maybe due to my recent hair loss?

My surgery day is here. I slept fine, but woke up early but I'm treating my day as I normally would before the surgery (Walking the dog at ex time, watching tv until I normally would get ready for work, going to take my daughter to school then.... make sure I'm packed for my stay). I'm a ball of emotions- excited to start this part of my journey, anxious as my insides will be rearranged. I'm nauseous, literally, with nerves. I tried a sip of Water, didn't help. I can have Clear liquids until 8am. But I am thankful today is the day! No doubt. I feel blessed for this opportunity and I've worked hard to get where I am. I'm 3 years post op this month. It doesn't seem possible as it went by so quickly. I have gained 20 pounds and never hit my goal weight. So with this extra 20 I'm 40 lbs away. I'm worried my pouch isn't working or I stretched it, which docs say hasn't happened. But I'm wondering if this pouch reset of going back on liquids is a real thing. I have no issues going to liquids and I only eat low carb. I'm confused on this weight gain and disappointed in myself. I have no doubt that I have screwed this up because I have cheated in the past. But getting this weight off is so much more important than eating things I'm not supposed to. Does anyone have a success story on gaining …

After I drink or eat something with a high amount of protein, I feel extremely nauseous. I thought I was doing better with nausea but today has proven otherwise. I'm so frustrated. I've been anxious this entire process (as most of us have been) and now I'm almost done. I'm just ready for an answer at this point. Will I have surgery? Yes or no. I'm one year post op and only down 63 pounds. I'm definitely depressed since I should have lost almost double that by now. I feel like I'm full of excuses when I say my knees or my back are killing me. I have herniated and bulging discs in my back and two knees that are bone on bone. I'm full of pain, I take pain medication at least three times a day, just to take the edge off. My relationship with food is definitely much better. I love to cook and finding new recipes that are low cal and healthy is fun for me. Exercise,on the other hand, is not something I do often enough because of the pain. Is anyone else having these issues? What are you doing to get thru it?
