I had some clothing passed on to me to which I am paying it forward. There are 5 huge garbage bags full, some are new with tags, some very gently worn, and very little is starting to show slight wear. They range in sizes from 16-24! Must take all. I am located in the York area, willing to meet for pick up. All I ask is that we continue paying it forward. Clothing is so expensive, especially when we're in limbo and changing sizes so often. You can private message me or leave a response here. Have a great day, and stay safe in the snow!

Hi all . I'm 11 days post op and down 20lbs. All was going well until yesterday when I noticed that everything I ate/drank just started coming right through me. I was including miralax in my water just so I wouldn't get constipated but I stopped several days ago when I stopped the pain meds . I am still on liquids so my foods are protein shakes and soup. As soon as I eat, a few minutes later my stomach hurts and to the bathroom I go. Should I be worried or does this happen sometimes? Also is anyone else taking gallstone prevention medicine?

Okay I've been on the soft foods stage (soft enough to cut through with a fork) for 2 weeks now and all I can tolerate is 3-5 small bites. Is this normal? Should I be tolerating more? I'm not even hungry, I'm eating to start getting used to eating "real food".

Good afternoon. I am 8 weeks post op and I am not eating or drinking the recommended protein. I have absolutely no appetite and my surgeon said sometimes it's normal and takes some a little longer to get their appetite. I have no energy so it's hard for me to work. Is their anyone in here that have gone through the same thing and have any suggestions on what to do. Thanks in advance.

Sorry this is so long. It's my first time posting. I'm a 32 year old 5'3" female. I have struggled with my weight since 2000 when I was involved in a car accident that shattered my backbone and I suffered a very bad head injury. About a year after the accident, I was gaining weight, and was diagnosed with scoliosis and arthritis. I lived with that for a while, but managed to keep my weight between 150-160. In 2007, I stayed gaining more weight, and stayed sick all of the time. Over the course of 6 months, I have gained about 20 extra pounds. Iwas diagnosed with PCOS.I had a complete hysterectomy in early 2008, in which they had to remove everything. I packed on 70 more l…

Hi I had my op 14/1. My procedure was one of the easiest my surgeon ever had. My liver was in great condition. After the op in the evening I had overwhelming nausea. The nurse kept changing my nausea meds over to make me feel better. All I wanted to do was vomit. In her good intentions the nurse said try not to vomit as it wasn't good for my newly bypassed stomach. About 3am I couldn't stop the overwhelming feeling, and then finally it happened, I vomited blood and lots of it, I'm not sure how much it was because I felt so unwell , but I do remember reaching for a cup and I know I filled at least half of it. Next thing my room was filled with nurses, they soon rea…

I had full gastric bypass may 27th 2014. Lost 96lbs in 6 months. Had emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder 5 months after surgery. 10 months after surgery I got pregnant. Two weeks after I delivered my healthy and perfect baby boy, I have serious auto immune disorder symptoms. Waiting for my feb 1st appointment with a rheumatologist to find out my diagnosis. It's been suggested that it's RA. I'm only 33 with a newborn. Anyone else know if and why bypass could cause this??

I had gastric bypass surgery on December 29th, and I can't tell when I'm hungry anymore. Before surgery, hunger used to feel like my stomach grumbling and I'd feel like a tightness in my core and I'd know, intuitively, that it's time to eat. Now, I don't know if I've felt hungry at all since the surgery. Sometimes I feel stomach pain like almost gas pain, and I eat something and feel a little better. Daily, I'm working on my fluids - and drinking my protein. I don't really focus on food at all, and I eat like maybe 2 times a day - cottage cheese and a little Greek yogurt. I'm going to start trying soft foods next week. In your experience, what does hunger now feel like to…

Is anyone else scared about falling back into old habits? I've noticed that I am not eating the greatest lately and although I am still losing weight and not eating no where near what I used to...I am pretty scared I will fall in that again. Has anyone else felt this? Is it a faze? Maybe I just need a quick refresher of why I did this surgery in the first place. Any advice helps!!

Ok Tomorrow is the day. Two weeks on liquids. What's the worst that could happen, is what I keep asking myself. I have never followed the program completely and I'm admitting it to help myself and others. Not only have I not followed this program completely I've never followed anything by the rules. I am also going to start seeing a psychologist because I self sabotage everything. I have never admitted this either. But I have had so many things happen lately that have back fired that it's time to change. No excuses. I'm going to keep a journal and track everything. If anyone has had any success with starting over let me know. Thank you.

I'm six weeks out on Tuesday. i went out to lunch with friends today and decided to order something...knowing I'd take most of it home. i ordered a "chicken salad plate." It had fresh tomatoes and cucumbers on it, which I knew I could not eat yet (as well as lettuce). I ate 1/4 of a piece of toast, a whole hard boiled egg, and about 4 small bites of chicken salad. And I have been paying for it all afternoon...not throwing up, but my stomach has not been happy. Burping. Feeling so full. It didn't happen right away, but took an hour and then for the next four hours. I am just now starting to feel a little better. I couldn't even drink anything, that made it worse. Argh! How…

Hi everyone! My surgery date is set for 2/17. Unfortunately, one of my husband's Marine friends passed away and they (Marines) are meeting up for a memorial service three days after my surgery....two states away. My parents had already planned to come down to stay with us and help with our two kids (2 and 5 years old) so I think I'll be fine if he goes to the memorial service. If it were anything else, I know he wouldn't even think of going away, but considering the circumstances, I think he should go. The hospital where I'm having surgery is about an hour from me so I may have to find someone to pick me up and bring me home (since my parents will be with my kids) - but…

Yay! Another poop thread. Requisite apology for the squeamish amongst us. So I only tend to have a bowel movement every other day, which my doctor said is fine and not to worry. And I don't. The thing I am having a problem with is that it's sticky. I feel like I use half a roll of TP just to get clean. When I asked the doctor, she was kind of vague about the reasons and generally not very helpful. Has this happened to anyone else? Has anyone been able to fix it?

  31. Anyone diagnosed with celiac disease after they've had their RNY surgery?? I just had my endoscopy and colonoscopy to find out what could be causing my symptoms, low Iron, fatigue, headaches and upper abdomen pain and low grade fevers and they found six erosions in my jejunum when scoping my mall intestine. The doctor thinks it could be inflammation due to celiac disease which would cover all my symptoms and would be fairly easily treated. Anyone else experience this after they've had their RNY. It's been almost 5 years since I've had mine, thanks, Brandy.

Anyone have problems with not being able to stop losing weight? My surgeon has mentioned maybe having to do something with my pouch to enlarge it? But I am not sure what it is exactly. I am still losing weight and can't seem to stop. I saw my PCP today about some issues and she had me go do a bunch of blood tests. Then she wants me to call me surgeon. Oh boy. I will be a year out on 12/18/15.

I'm getting worried reading what others have written. I am 4 weeks out from bypass. I was on protein drinks before surgery and tolerated it fine, but since surgery, I cannot stand the taste, smell or consistency of the new protein shakes. I've tried many brands but I gag and feel awful if I get any down. So I stopped drinking protein and started to accelerate my diet. I've been very lucky because I haven't had any problems post op, but at 4 weeks out, I'm eating more foods than I should have. I'm hungry alot since I have to eat my protein, and fear I won't lose weight. I've lost about 25 lbs since starting the protein before surgery. Anyone else have these problems…

Hello... I'm 3+ months pre-op - hopefully converting a band to the bypass. I've heard recently on some online forums that people with bypass are more likely to have issues with their teeth post-op. That's even if they are taking all of their supplements. For whatever reason, whenever some one asks me, I get anxious and lie to them saying "I really don't know." Truth is, I know... I weigh myself multiple times per week and am always thinking about how much I've lost to date. For whatever reason I don't want to let people know I've lost over 100 pounds since it is obvious I still have quite a ways to go. It's like I know I've accomplished a lot to date (I promise I'm not fishing for atta boys here) but since the journey is far from complete, I feel uncomfortably openly discussing where I am on the path.
