I have an issue. I moved to Louisiana last year and the only ob/gyn I could get in to see so I wouldn't run out of my BC pills was a complete MORON and I hated him. So I want to switch Doctors, right? But my BC prescription runs out in 3 weeks, and my current Dr's office refilled the prescription to last me until my next appointment, which is Oct. 29. I can't get an appt before then or my insurance won't pay for it. They told me they would ONLY refill my prescription if I kept my appointment. So that makes it seem impossible to switch Doctors!!! Should I just cancel the appointment the day before and get an appointment with a new Dr? I have never had this happen b…

Hello ladies, Since my surgery July 29, I've gone down in band width of my bra from a 44 to a 42. Now I have to buy a new bra before returning to work Monday. As you all know, good bras are expensive and as I hope to continue losing weight, I'll be buying them often. My question is, do I buy the size 42 or do I buy a 40 and use bra extenders so I can get a little more use out of it? What do you ladies do to keep the girls in proper place while your size keeps changing? And what about underwire? I haven't worn a wired bra since surgery, but are they a thing of the past now? Granted, they were never comfortable, but they did help with lift.

This has nothing to do with the band, but I wanted to see what you guys thought about this. I know some of you are teachers on here, so maybe you can tell me how it works at your school. I went to my son's school today to take him his inhaler, they told me he was at lunch and I could find him in the cafeteria. The volunteer who told me this said it was very quiet in there because no talking was allowed...I said hmmm...really...none? Anyway I went to the cafeteria, and you could have heard a pin drop. Not only was it it silent they were all sitting on the just one side of the tables, they couldn't even face each other. It was bizarre if you ask me....in the past they hav…

My wife and I have been married 28 wonderful years. She has lost 120 pounds and I have lost 79. We are very compatible. Our biggest difference, she loves to shop I hate it. I usually look for someplace to sit and people watch. I will admit to noticing women who are good looking while sitting there killing time. Yesterday I was sitting, looking, I saw a very pretty face, I only had time to think, "she is nice", when she turned to me and smiled and I realized I was looking at my wife. Yes, its sappy, sounds ridiculous, but its true. I've never thought she wasn't beautiful, and I doubt she has gone more than a day or two in 30 years without me telling her so, but it …

First sorry this has nothing to do with the band...I don't know where else to go to ask this question and I know that there are a lot of great minds out there so... My friend just moved in with me and she has a ten year old son who is having major difficulties reading. I would guess he's reading at a first grade level. It took him over ten minutes to read one paragraph! He has to sound out every word! I don't have kids and have never been around kids. His mom doesn't read much, she's a high school drop out and has NO patience for his reading. I offered to help but I'm CLUELESS! The one thing that I did was tonight when working on his spelling words I made him sa…

I have been having a lot of irregular bleeding lately and a lot of pelvic pain. My doctor suspects that I may have endometriosis. I have to have an ultrasound on Monday to rule out any other problem. She said endometriosis won't show on an ultrasound, so if it doesn't show anything, then I will need to have surgery. I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem and what is done for it. Has anyone had to have a hysterectomy?

I have been taking Yaz B.C. pills to regulate my periods, reduce breakouts, cramps, and PMS. My husband has had a vas so I am not worried about getting preggers. My doctor told me the pill will not work at all after surgery and just mess up my hormones further so no point in taking it. It also puts me at a higher risk for blood clots. He wanted me to stop taking it right then so I will be fine for surgery. I noted I was in middle of a pack and he said stop anyway. Ok fine. What should I expect? I have never stopped in middle of a pack. I feel ok but I am afraid I am going to get a suddent rush of blood or something crazy. I searched the web and didn't find much. Any…

I was bannded June 30th and diagnosed with PCOS sometime before my sugery. My first period in July came timely 15th just like in June. I was pleased. July 24th was my birthday and the the MIGRAINS began. 20 days of migrains. Now today August 14th I started (timely yes) and the cramps are killer. My stomache muscels could take out a small country. I have felt like I had PMS for 20 days now I am haveing a super period. I can see how gaining weight increased testostrone so is weight loss decreasing testo? Is the Estrogon increasing? Will things work themselves out. And to top it off I just want to eat so bad. I had my first fill this past Tues and I could just eat untill the…

Ok, I am sure someone else has posted about this somewhere..Since being banded last year my already fine hair is just getting thinner and thinner. It falls out if I brush it too much, dry it too long or flat Iron it. I have stopped styling my hair and decided to just keep it up becuase I am so embarassed by how it looks. The breaking is making it look like I have layers, and not flattering ones!!! What do I do? A friend who had gastric reccomended Biotin which I have been taking but it doesnt seem to help. I considered cutting it so that it may look fuller if shorter but I am terrified that it will never grow and keep breaking until I have to have a pixie leng…

(Silent Treatment at the end is my favorite!!!) ~WOMAN'S PERFECT BREAKFAST~ She's sitting at the table with her gourmet coffee. Her son is on the cover of the Wheaties box. Her daughter is on the cover of Business Week. Her boyfriend is on the cover of Playgirl. And her husband is on the back of the milk carton. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~WOMEN'S REVENGE~ 'Cash, check or charge?' So I was banded six days ago and am doing really well. Went back to work 2 days post op and felt great. Well....I am a very sexual person and literally all I have been able to think about is taking advantage of my husband. So last night I gave into the urge. I haven't had any pain in my port area or chest. Still able to hold down liquids. Think it will affect the healing process? How long did you all wait to have sex after getting banded?

My bf has been going through a lot of stress. His family is really dysfunctional. Instead of sharing with me, he's just really moody and quiet. I know the stuff he is going through is really painful, but at the same time, I am really sick of the way he shuts down. I sent a message to a guy on another dating site. he wrote back and asked for a picture. I sent a little newsy email, and sent a picture. I have not heard back from him. I don't know whether to wait, or send him another message and if so, what to say. Vegas Angel, you can see the picture on my fb page. It's the only picture I have of me that I can send. I am really camera shy and take lousy pictures. Eve…

So I was banded almost six months ago, I feel good, lost 30 something pounds already but I feel like now I wont be able to ever get close to anyone again with out having to tell them. I started dating a new guy and he felt my port one day and said what the hell is that. I'm definitley not telling him, but eventually he's gonna see the scars. I feel so uncomfortable now, and it seems like I got rid of one problem and gained a whole new one. I'm so self conscious now about my scars.... what do I say? Make up some random surgery? In no way can I tell him, this isn't something I planned on telling anyone exept for my close family members.

So I LOVE lOve love LOVEEEE high heels. But *sigh* I'm 5'7. This is no big deal if you have a tall man in your life, but for me...I feel like I TOWER over everyone else when I rock the stiletto's. I try to find cute pumps w/ low heels but do you know how hard that is??? Seriously....super frustrating!!! How many of you long legged girls out there don't care and feel comfortable in high heels?

I just found out why my bf has been acting so distant the past few days. It turns out his DIL is upset with me over something I said on Face book. I wasn't even talking about her. Facebook is stupid too. Something you say can be taken the wrong way by all these people that you don't even know. I am more than disgusted at this moment.

Ahh it is 3:30 am and I am awake. As usual. I have been having insomnia every single damn night since February. I talked my doctor. Tests were run. No problems. Talked to my physciatrist (sp?) he gave me Ambien. I sleep through the night if I take it but...... He won't give me much more so I cut back to taking it once per week so I can get sleep just one night a week. The rest of the nights I wake up at 1 am, 3 am, and 5 am. I will be awake for an hour and fall back asleep but my sleep is not real per say. I feel like I am sleeping and half awake. I can hear the birds outside, husband turning over, etc yet I am sleeping. Strange. I go to bed at 9 or 10 so you can see …

Last month (June) I had 2 periods. I am contributing it to my weight loss. The other problem that has recently popped up is a yeast infection that I cant seem to get rid of. I have done OTC meds., all the home remedies that i can think of, and recently took a 3 day dose of Diflucan. It feels like it is better but not completely gone. I have NEVER had this much trouble getting rid of a yeast infection. Is anyone else having or had this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions? Erika

When I was banded I had a great experience -- very little pain. On the 1 - 10 pain scale, nothing more than a 2 really, and that was mostly shoulder and neck pain from the Co2 gas. So, yesterday I go to an aesthetician (Kelly, a.k.a. "SATAN") for some IPL (Intense Pulse Light) hair removal on my upper lip. This place is pretty tender, but she zapped me and NO big deal. While I was there, I asked if she could also zap my cleavage area, because I have started noticing some dark hairs there (YUCK)! Holy CRAP! It felt like she was hitting me with a hot curling Iron. Luckily, my DH drove me, because it hurt so bad on the way home, that my arms were shaking!!! On the pain …

I have posted before what a horrible witch my mother is...but she's still my mom. I have been chanting that in my head for a long time. She's still my mom...she's still my mom... But, now I'm getting more and more disgusted with myself for allowing her to have so much control over my emotions. I want to break up with her, but I don't know how. Her latest ploy was to not talk to me for 2 weeks after I got a chihuahua. She doesn't like them, so she didn't answer my emails, calls or anything. So, I stopped communicating with her, and she called me because she needed money for my step-father's birthday dinner. I have a van in my name that she pays for. I imagine…

This thread is for anyone who needs to rant. It is also for anyone who wants to give advice on succeeding this rotton up and down battle with trying to lose what feels like a million pounds when the damn scale won't budge! I think I have the right to rant because I am sick of getting up at 5:00 am everyday to work out when obviously I'd rather be sleeping. Ok so my diet isn't always perfect. I'm not a perfect person!!! With all the working out I do and eating healthy most of the time, shouldn't that count for something?!!! But I get on the scale, It starts to move the right direction and then a few days later, guess what? I gain back a couple pounds or so! Some days I fee…

I know we have a place to tell our story, but I thought we could add little tid bits in the girls room so we could get to know each other better. I grew up in Chicago, and if you ever saw that movie "my big fat Greek wedding" that is like the family I grew up with. I think one of the main reasons I moved to Oregon was to get away from my Greek family. My h.s. sweetheart and I got married when I was 19 and moved here when I was 21. He wanted to live near the ocean and we knew Calif. was expensive and crowded. We picked this town because it's the biggest town on the Oregon coast. We got divorced shortly after I moved here, and he moved to Portland. We remain good fr…

So I gave birth two years ago (to twins- significant to this question but want to hear from those that had singletons as well). Granted my stomach got huge- no stretch marks or anything and I thought my tummy looked pretty good six weeks post c-section. I weighed 216 at that time and so my stomach still had some padding to it so I didn't have a lot of loose skin that was hanging. But now........that I am losing weight and some of the padding I am getting the loose hanging skin and am really, really worried what I am going to look like at goal. I know this is really hard to predict but have others experienced this as a "stage" on their way to a smaller stomach or is it …

Hello everyone. I am a food addict and I'm tired of living with all this weight. I am seriously considering having the lap band procedure done. I Googled lap band procedures and came upon this site. Very informative and so much to read! Some of what I've read has encouraged me and some has scared the heck out of me. I have a have an appointment with my GP in late July and, at this point, I am going to ask him for information and doctor referral concerning lap bands. Here is my biggest concern: Food cravings. I've tried will power and it doesn't work. I'm 52 and absolutely miserable. This morning I weighed in at 314 lbs. Even at that weight, and feeling as terrible as I…

Hi ladies!! I have 9 days till my surgery!! My DH doesn't approve/hates the idea/refuses to even drive me I'm doing it anyway of course, BUT should I care about his opinion? I mean yes, a marriage is a partnership but doesn't that mean wanting the best for each other? I am feeling guilty for going against his wishes (not guilty enough to not go through with it tho!) Anybody else go through this, or have any insight?

For those of you who get tighter around/during TOM when do you start feeling the affects? I just got a fill of 1cc almost one week ago and have recently(this am & yesterday) been waking in the morning coughing. So I am wondering if my fill is too tight this time around or if this is related to my TOM being just around the corner in about 2 or 3 days. Just wondering if anyone keeps track of when you tighten up before TOM.

Ok, I posted this in the Men's Room asking their advice, but I think I need the ladies too. My husband cheated on me the first couple of weeks we were dating, years ago. He came clean when we started getting serious and has not done it again, that I can tell. I had my suspicion about him back when we were first dating and they were confirmed when he admitted it. We've now been married nearly 4 years, and have two beautiful children. Yesterday, I went to pick up my kids from daycare and their provider and I always chit chat. She made a joke about how my husband was text messaging her daughter (who also works at the daycare) the other night and asking how she liked liv…

I'm feeling really stressed out and all I've done is EAT. I haven't had the surgery done and this is one of those day that I really would probably suffer if I had. I ended a relationship with the man that I have been in love with for over two years, two weeks ago. He was a PLAYER from the beginning and told me that he was and STUPID me, let my emotions get involved. Now, it hurts every time I think about him. I can't get away from him, he works with me, fortunately on different shifts. He's constantly emailing me work related questions that I have to answer, so I can't ignore him. He wants to remain friends, but it's just too hard for me. I know that I'll cave if…

Hey all! I have been trying out this new thing called the "Strap Perfect" for a few weeks. I bought it at Walgreens for I think $15 for a pack of six (CVS sells them too). The funny thing is that it advertises that it's for shirts that you need a racer-back bra for and to enhance your bust up to another cup size, neither of which is why I got it. I bought it because my shoulders are too round to hold up my bra straps--I think this may be a common issue for us plus size gals, so I wanted to share this. It takes a little while to get used to (which is why I waited so long to post about it), and the straps are a little tighter on top of my shoulders, but it sure beats…

I have had my lapband for almost 2 years now and since the very beginning I would have these horrible episodes of severe swelling of my stomach. It gets to the point where I am not able to take my daily meds, drink any fluids and of course no eating. These episodes have caused dehydration, vomiting blood and severe heart burn and reflux. After speaking to my surgeon he said that I could attribute this to my monthly period and the bloating that come along with this. He suggested that my GP perscrib a Water pill to help with the complications. My GP didn't feel comfortable doing this for various reasons and my surgeon had to then agree. I looked at over the counter water…

Lap Band 3 months ago and I have lost almost 30 pounds. My husband has suddenly (after 2 plus years) noticed once again I'm alive...I feel angry... well... more hurt by this. I thought the attention he is giving me would make me happy. I was wrong. We are a million miles apart when we are standing next to each other...in my opionion. I know he loves me and I love him but I can't seem to get past the feelings of being hurt and pushed to the wayside for so long.

While younger and much thinner, I had cute little bras, but nothing daring or sexy. Then the FAT piled on, and I was not into that kind of thing at all. :closedeyes:Granny bras were all that I could fit in......As I got older, I got more daring in what I liked, and moved away from "cute" but only DREAMED of one day wearing Victoria's Secret bras and panties. I never thought I would . thought it was over for me. Well THANK YOU LAP BAND!!!!
