I really like Carnie Wilson and was excited to see her new show. I had hopes that she would show people that WLS isn't magic and it takes effort to keep the weight off. I am very frustrated however, that she continuously seems to make poor food choices. Who decides to start commercially baking when they have a food addiction? For some reason I care if she's healthy and yes I do realize how judgmental I sound.

Okay I might be totally off base with this but,shortly after being banded (about a year ago) I have spotting between my periods every single month for a year now.This has never happened before, not really sure if it has anything to do with the band.Anyone else having this issue. its very annoying! any help would be appreciated! thanks

I have been dealing with a whole new issue now that I am well on my way to goal of being at 145lbs. I used to weigh 240. That was just last March. Now i weigh 177. I am not at goal yet but I am starting to feel like this will happen. When I was heavier I kept my urges to myself because I felt gross and not at all sexy. help! I went on BC in Oct and have not had a period in several months. Technically since I have been in BC pills since 1999 I havent really ovulated since. Today I was hit with EXTREME cramps. OMG like WOW. I have seen a few posts here and there about a very heavy period after being banded. Is this your experience? I want to know what i am in for. I'm at work right now and my cramps feel worse then the post op gas pain. I wish I had my left over vics with me today. lol.

like all my other issues are not bad enough, I have also been having heavy hair loss the last 3 weeks...I mean a hair LOSS that is starting to be very noticable. I am nearly 4 months out from surgery and was wondering if this was normal? I try to get between 80-100 grams Protein each day, adn thought this was about adequate, I also take 2 multi Vitamins a day!

so today my doctor told me i have fibromyalgia. i know a little about it, but am researching, researching, researching. reading on the various websites just makes me wanna cry. its like everything fits. i am not crazy! does anyone else have fibromyalgia? any suggestions for reading? or for things that help? she (the doctor) put me on a new medication just approved for it in january, savella. anyone else on this medication? any feedback is greatly appreciated. thanks!

I want to see a counselor about this but cant afford one, so I was hoping maybe I could get some advice from those who may have gone thru with what I am feeling. I had surgery about 2 years ago, I have lost over 100 lbs. My husband and I have been married 3 years- no children. We have been together for about 10years. I colored my hair on Monday and I really don't like the color. It turned out really brassy. I want to redo it but I'm unsure of how long I have to wait. Should I wait a week? Or longer? Also, does anyone recommend any good hair dyes? I used to use the Clairol Hydrience, but they discontinued it. I used the Loreal Excellence Cream this time and I really didn't like it at all.

Just curious, how many of you have had this done. I am wondering, in comparison to having my eyebrows and upper lip waxed, what is the level of pain?

I can't seem to be able to find jeans to fit my weird body type...short, no ass, and a lot of stomach...any suggestions? Levi skinny jeans fit my legs well, but the low rise fall off me cause I have no butt to hold them up. Boot leg are so baggy around my legs, they look too big..help! Ok it started about 3 weeks ago. Thought it might be a yeast infection, but did not really have the same FEEL or symptoms. Just a whole lot of itching in the entire pubic region and inner thighs... But I did a monistat 1 anyway...not much change in symptoms. Again, please, no judging or lecturing here. I'm just asking an honest question. Who is doing this the tight band way? and if you are doing it that way, you know who you are. Not everyone can deal with the gym and calorie counting. For some of us the quasi-starvation method is what works best. Of course there are obvious side effects and issues with a tight band, but I would love to chat with others who got to their goal like me, with a tight band.

Hello all! I was banded August 7th and have been very happy thus far. My question is this. I've been on the Depo shot for almost 4 years now. And I have rarely had spotting or any problems. ( I know there are tons of negative stories about Depo, but so far, it's been the only thing that my OB/GYN has prescribed that controls my bleeding.) Three days after surgery, I started bleeding...not just spotting, almost like a light period. I haven't stopped and it's been almost a month. I haven't really worried because I keep thinking it will stop and it might just be a side effect from the surgery or something, but now that it hasn't stopped, I'm starting to get curio…

Okay, I have a confession to make! I have a huge crush on my surgeon's physician assistant. :seeya: I went in earlier this week for my second fill, and low and behold, the PA was the only one there. I just wanted to share a female NSV I had today. When I was young and thin I always knew when I was ovulating. I would get a little cramp in my abdomen and get a couple light pink spots. I also felt bloated for a few hours. If I counted I would see I was at my ovulation date. That all stopped when I got heavy. I still had my period but never felt ovulation. I am assuming I was though. I felt it today! I used an online calculator and sure enough today is my ovulation date. Not trying to get preg but it is still kind of cool to feel your body working right again!

Ok...now I know I'm weird.. I got my period yesterday and nearly cried with joy. I was afraid I'd have it going on while I was traveling and having surgery. This is perfect time! It'll be over and done with and I don't have to pack the extra "supplies", and ...I'll just be a regular normal biottccch...and not a raving-sobbing-pissed off-happy as a clam- biottccchhh!

Family....(well...you are!), Some of you will get this...some won't. I am taking a little 4 day break in Long Beach, California (for a huge dog show) immediately prior to my surgery. I'll be seeing people that I usually only see once a year and have to look "presentable". I've gained weight since the last time I saw them and was furious that I had to go shopping for some new tops. I know full well that I'm not going to be in this size for more than 10 minutes after surgery and it ticks me off that I had to spend the money right now! Does anyone else struggle with pms. I mean like 8-9 days out of the month feeling totally out of control. I could kill for a piece of bread, cry at the drop of a hat then 2 seconds later be so mad I could hit someone, tender breast and so bloated I can't even think about sucking my stomach in. Then, as soon as I start, harps begin playing and sanity is restored for another 15-20 days. It's horrible. Not to mention it's bad for weight loss. I've mentioned it to my pcp and ob docs, they both just kind of shrug it off.

Am I the only one that has this problem? When i workout(run) and then put on regular clothes the thighs of my jeans are so tight that I almost can't get them on. The problem almost discourages me from working out or from wearing any kind of clothes that aren't stretchy. My husband doesn't understand, he just keeps telling to keep it up and it should go away. The only way it goes way is if i stop doing any kind of exercise, then of course my jeans are so loose I have to go get new ones. So now I have a pair of new ones a size smaller and can't get into them because I'm back to exercising.

Ok, so let me preface this by saying that my period is ALWAYS regular. Only once in my whole life have I been late. However, I was due to start on the 5th, but it still hasn't shown up. I feel like I've had pms for over a week now though. I even took a pregnancy test to make sure I wasn't pregnant, even though I didn't think I was. It came back negative {THANK GOD}. So I was wondering, has anyone else gone through this? I know 5 days may not seem like alot, but it is for me. I was banded May 20th and even after that, my period was regular. Well, I have been dreading this day for a year, but it has arrived. My husband, John deployed yesterday to Iraq for a year (at least). It was harder than I thought it would be. He was devastated to have to leave our daughter, Lily (20 months). Hello all. Just wanted to say that I got my period officially on Tuesday and it was the WORST one of my life!!! I have NEVER had cramps and never suffered from PMS or PPMS or anything else. If I did, I just thought it was a tummy ache and it would go away and then the next day I would get my period and I would be like "oh! that's what the tummy ache was about!" I just heard from my gynecologist yesterday that my annual pap smear came back abnormal and that I have to have a coploscopy and a possible biopsy. I've read up on it online and a friend of mine had it done as well. She said it was super painful and awful, but she tends to be a bit of a drama queen, so I was looking for some other input. hello girls, i was just wondering how much did you weight when you were able to fit into a size L comfortably?? i am getting the pounds off, very slowly...i dont even think its the band anymore i think its just my eating habits, but slowly n surely they are coming off..anyway the point i'm tyring to get at is that i want to go on a major shopping spree. .like...MAJOR and i want to do it in one of my favorite stores Metropark. I have read the never ending period stories on here, but didn't think it would happen to me because I am on the depo shot. Even when I was at a lower weight, the shot stopped my periods, which I loved because I always had very heavy ones. All of a sudden, I started at it has lasted 2 weeks and counting!!! I have gone through four boxes of tampons! I think I will need to buy stock in Kotex if this goes on any longer to get some of my money back.LOL.

I've noticed recently that if I'm not sitting up straight the underwire on my bra hits right about where the band is and it makes it tighter. If I eat/drink something I have to sit completey straight or pull my bra away from my body for a minute to let the food pass by. Other than correcting my posture (which I should do anyway) does anyone have any suggestions for ways to fix this? A new type of bra, maybe? I'm pretty busty so need the wire for support and can't go without at work or in public. It's mostly annoying when I'm out with friends (none of whom know I have the band) and have to keep playing with my bra! Help, please!

Okay - so after watching an epidsode of What Not to Wear and seeing all the women who don't wear the right size bra, I went to a bra shop (few years ago) and was measured - told I needed 44D (I'd been buying 48B - go figure) ... so that is what I have been buying. I know I have lost inches around as I am on the very last row of hooks.
