Ok ladies - I haven't seen this posted on here anywhere yet, but I am curious.... Was it difficult to shave your legs after surgery?!? haha I know it's strange to ask - but it's summer, I have PCOS, and therefore have to shave OFTEN! :tt2: Did anyone have difficulty shaving, if so how did you get around it? I REALLY REALLY don't want to ask my husband do it for me, or want to deal with letting my legs go for too long without shaving. THANKS in advance for your answers! :biggrin2:

My surgery was June 27th. I obviously was not pregnant then, but my period came right after and was very light - normal for post op I hear. Now I have VERY sore breasts - the kind of soreness I only had with my last baby - feeling VERY tired, cranky and down - kind of like the flu - but that could be from the trauma of surgery and food changes. Oh - and I am starving!!! Want to eat eat eat all the time. Took a PG test - negative - but I swear I am pregnant! Anyone else????

There are only a few issues in life I have truly had to think about. #1 WLS #2 Moving out of my parents house at 22 #3 Buying a home #4 Getting my hair cut Why is #4 such a HARD decision? I have been growing out my hair for three years now and am not happy with it. I have a hair appointment tonight after work and I am torn on what to do. I always go in and she just trims it. I'm ready for something different. Easy to manage and Fun. I'm on the way to a whole new me - I think a new haircut would be awesome. Now what style? How short do I want to go? My hair is naturally curly. It would be great to put product in, blowdry and go. I fight the humidity so …

I'm so glad they made a special forum for our girly issues! So here's my problem: I have been on Depo-Provera for 6 years now, and the only time I would ever spot was maybe once a year for a day or two right before I was due to get my shot. However, since I was banded 1 month ago, I've been spotting on and off for the last 4 weeks. I did get my Depo shot about 2 weeks ago, but I've never spotted this long since I started using Depo. Anyone know why or been through this? I know it has to do with my surgery, but I can't figure out why it's happening and my doctor isn't very accessible to ask questions

I've just got one thing to say on this subject. I was married-had them all time!! I mean all the time! Got a divorce got a different guy and haven't had one in 14 years! We blame our selves for this and sometimes I think it the guys giving it to us. My ex was a very clean guy but he was a runner and I think he always had a low grade infection going on (tight jock strap, etc.) Next time get him checked out before we start taking more drugs ourselves! You'll enjoy the sex more without having to worry about it!

Like I don't have enough problems with UTI's since I got a BF and started having sex again, now I have a screaming yeast infection! This is so not fair. I went without a relationship for 3 years since my last BF and I broke up. I have had burning crotch syndrome for the last month. OK probably way too much information. Carry on.:confused:

Ok I tried to read through the waxing thread in the lounge and wound up going cross eyed... So I am gonna resurrect it over here. My hubby is coming home in August and by then I am hoping to have lost a bit of weight, enough to put me in the 100's at least. ANYHOW, I digress, I was thinking of surprising him by getting a Brazilian wax. Thing is, I am a shaver always have been so I have NO idea how soon before he gets back I should get it done. No idea about anything really. I called the salon/spa I will be going to, price is rather decent. Newbie freshly learnt would charge around 90, and someone with experiance (hello I am going to this one) can run up to 150 (…

I was banded on May 22. I had my first fill about 3 weeks ago. I am scheduled for my second next week. I really didn't notice a big difference with the first fill. I know that is normal, but I have only lost 12 pounds and I just feel like I should have lost more. Most of the weight I lost was during the first week of clear liquids. Since then, I have barely been losing a pound a week. I eat like I am supposed to, protein first, and I don't drink with my meals. I am exercising just about everyday. I am not hungry much at all, and when I do eat, I eat very little. I just don't understand why the weight is so slow to come off. Someone please tell me this gets better after th…

I am in my last month of my supervised diet, see the nutritionist next week, and am on my way to being banded (soon hopefully!). Previous to now, I have been busting my butt to get everything together for my insurance and for the hospital. Done that...I find myself just waiting and thinking. Well, I was in the predicament of needing new contacts/glasses and I noticed that my eye insurance gives a discount for LASIK. I couldnt help but start to think about how lovely I would look if I was thin *and* didnt have to wear glasses or contacts. Well, today one of my colleagues came into work with veneers on her teeth. Now I have been thinking about them for a while, bu…

Ok, I'm sick of being fat...but even sicker of being thought of as older then I actually am. Just little comments, but I can tell that people assume that I'm about 10 years older then my 34 years (soon to be 35 in about a week). It's BULLSHIT!! I hate the fact that my weight really adds the years to my face...I went to pick up some scrips for my mother the other day (granted I used to drive-thru) but, I could tell that the chick at the window thought I was my mom.....UGH. Anyone else have issues with people thinking you are older then you actually are??? I'm sorry but this just really pisses me off. I don't have a ton of wrinkles or anything, heck I don't even have…

I am seriously considering the lap band but feel VERY confused. WAY too many social and mental issues right now to schedule. I am really trying to absorb as much as I can about this so this is a big concern: IF I do this surgery, amazingly lose even 60-80 pounds....wil I hate my boobs?? Will I need an augmentation?? I don't want implants but I dont want to be ashamed of the ONE thing I have been ok with on my body as a large girl after the band. I don't want to trade my fat body loathing problem for a saggy skin body loathing problem. :phanvan They aren't even that big, I wear a 42 B but in some bras that is a little big. 42 B cup is close to a DD in "normal si…

:confused2:Just curious. A good friend of mine had the bypass surgery about a year and a half ago. Her whole personality has changed. She has become extremely self centered and now has this extremely high sex drive. It's almost like she has sex with anyone who compliments her. I've read some lit on the bypass surgery and it does say that a person's sex drive can change. Is a change in sex drive a possible occurence following the loss of weight after having the lap band surgery. I have come to the conclusion that she is trying to make up for all of the sex that she didn't have when she was overweight (which is not very safe this day and age, if you know what I mean):tt2:

Anyone seen a reduction in unwanted hair...facial, belly...anywhere else? I want this hair gone, and I am holding out hope that having lapband will help this problem some. I started laser hair removal on my chin before lapband and it really hasn't changed much...and this is after 8 treatments! Has anyone had it on the bikini area...is it as painful as a friend claims?

Banded Jan 22nd, down 70 lbs with 55 to loose, the problem is that I am starting to look at myself and going YUCK! Has anyone else experienced that? When I was first banded, it was great shedding the pounds, receiving compliments, cleaning out the closet. I even joined a gym and go every weekday morning before work. The problem is the last couple of weeks, it seems the more "fit" I get, the more flabby some of it becomes. My stomach, inner thighs, even my teeth seem to have shifted leaving a gap that I didn't have 6 months ago. Does that feeling ever go away? It has given me the thought that my body is like a balloon and I need keep it from deflating so that it looks bett…

Please tell me - does the sex drive come back as you lose?? DH and I used to have a VERY active sex life. Long story short, we both got fatter, and my drive has gone awol. DH was banded a year ago, and I've noticed he's more frisky, but not me. I think it's mostly in my head because I am so uncomfortable. So - has it increased for any of you (that lost it with weight)?

I mean, its that "gotta go, gotta go right now commerical" have to pee. Did you used to have that problem before hand? Do you see it lessening as you have lost weight? I do Keagle excercises all the time, but thats not helping got to go feeling, just the keeping it in.

Well today two things hit me and it hit me hard. :huh2: 1. I realized my hair is a bit thin in places, well that is from the first few weeks post op. I know I wasn't getting my Vitamins and Proteins the way I should have. Harder then you think on a total liquid diet. But now, I am back on track so it should start coming back (HOPEFULLY before the hubby comes home I will have some growth back). Not gonna stress it cause it happens, not much you can do but make sure you get all your vitamins and proteins. Which I am. 2. (and this one is the worst) I got on my scale today and 3 lbs are back from the abyss. I know its because I am back on a full foods diet (well …

So I am getting ready for my psych evaluation today and just enjoying the peace of being alone in my room (I have five kids and am sitting this summer for my niece and nephew). I put my hair up, got it all nice and curled and pretty for the day.....and ran out of hair spray. Luckily, I had bought another can so I grabbed it, ripped the lid off, shut my eyes and sprayed. Almost immediately, I noticed that it sprayed different (kind of like when the hairspray nozzle is full of hair spray) but I sprayed anyway. I finished, opened my eyes, and ..... MY HEAD WAS WHITE! I had inadvertantly bought mousse. It is in the same shaped can as my hairspray, same col…

Hi All, I asked this question in the 50+ group and only had one response.....so I'll try it here. My surgeon okayed sex last week- and I made sure to ask- plain old ordinary on top of me sex. So, my very happy husband and I went for it. We were both nervous...I expect it's like that with any abdominal surgery. I found that I could feel a little pressure when he was on top of my stomach (I'm not getting on top- at least not for the moment). And as he moved, I thought I felt everything moving right along. It was not painful, but I was "aware" of the port, etc. I'm fine so I know I didn't do anything hurtful, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience.

I am leary about taking PMS meds cause I forgot to ask my surgeon what is ok and what isn't. What do you take? I used to take midol and would like to again but I can't get hold of my doctor. (miltary doc so its not like civ docs that are a bit easier to get hold of) I mean I will be seeing him on the 1st for my fill and will ask then, but in the mean time (like right now) what do you take to make your ToM easier on you? Does it upset you stomach? *hugs heating pad*

Hi there gals I have so much pain around my port area during my TOM. I actually don't know if its really related to my TOM or not. I was banded on April 8, so I am coming up on my third period since being banded. The first one, was right after surgery so I had alot of pain anyway. The second month I attributed it to excercising too much, but here is the pain again. This time it is a sharp pain, but could be related to me lifting a heavy suitcase last night. So I really don't know? Does anyone else experience port pain during their TOM? Or, is it totally unrelated? :frown:

I was wondering how long everyone had to wait to do house work, especially vaccuming and laundry. I had my surgery on 5/22 and I wasn't supposed to do either one for 4 weeks. But I ended up having to do it today because my husband is a jerk and refuses to do it. I can't look and nasty floors for 2 more weeks, not to mention, I had nothing to wear. Now I'm afraid I might have hurt something. How long did everyone else wait?

Okay. Do any other ladies here have different size breasts? I dunno if it's because of my weight or what but my right breast is more like a full C and my left is a D I mean they both fit in D cups ok but my left one fills the D cup and my right one has some looseness in the D cup. I want to know if this is normal for us girls and if it might even out once I lose more weight?:confused2:

I asked how much did the band have in it when the band was put in and he withdrew the fluid and said that it was 3cc's in it when i was banded.. That's cool. He put 2-more cc's in it so i have a total of 5cc's in my band.. as he was putting the fill in the needle was still in the port and he had me to sit up and drink water while he was filling it... I looked at him like dude are u crazy... I will punch u n the face...lol.. this shit hurts....lol.. No problem with drinking wate…

I posted this here because I'm not sure where else to put it. I have a question. Do any of you have that fat patch on your back...like a hump between your shoulder blades and below your neck? I've had one since I've been heavy and lately it has been killing me. I'd KILL for a massage right now. It comes and goes, the soreness. A couple weeks ago it was sore, but it has returned full force today. I know it has nothing to do with my band. I thought it may be the weight loss, but why would I be sore just there?

Has started working out yet? I know I started after my 2-weeks were up. I started out doing 30-minutes on the elliptical maching and now I am up to a cool 60.lol... I know this will speed up the weight loss process as well but I am going to hold off on the stomach crunches for about 6mths or so because i dont want my port to flip or disconnect or anything... So. Yesterday I posted a suggestion to alex about making a forum specifically for the ladies, since the guys have one. One where we can talk about bras hitting incisions, bras, our breasts, and our anatomy, makeup, shopping, SHOES, all the girly stuff. He said we can try it out but need a name. Okay so the question is.... What would be a good name and description for it?! So I thought I would post this so all the ladies can respond and and we can vote on a name and description. What do all ya'll ladies think?! Come on girls! Lets get some ideas!

does anyone feel like they can't stop eating during their TOM? I've read on here where alot of people get really tight but i'm quite the opposite...i feel like i could eat all day long and eat anything and everything...i've been banded for almost 8 weeks, and i've had one fill. i was craving a hamburger the other day so i ate it...all of it...if you think about it, it's probably more than a cup...i didn't feel full...however i felt super guilty...is this thing going to get tighter? or is it just because i hit my TOM....i wasn't really like this before...i've been eating what i should and counting protein and staying away from all the "bad" food...but right now i want to…
