  1. ok, so 5/5/8 @ 7am i got my band. spent the entire day in the hospital. i was planning on doing it outpatient but as the day went on, and due to the gas pains, i stayed the night. they told me i wouldn't be able to eat until the next morning b/c of my upper GI that they had to do. after a little kicking and asking i got a bowl of chicken broth, Jello and h20 right around 9pm (Monday).. and i'll tell you that was the best freaking meal i can remember having in a long time. weird thing was that i put on 5 lbs in the hospital. i guess all the IV fluids and whatnot. did my upper GI today and left the hospital at 10:15am feeling pretty good. got some gas pains, b…

So. Yesterday I posted a suggestion to alex about making a forum specifically for the ladies, since the guys have one. One where we can talk about bras hitting incisions, bras, our breasts, and our anatomy, makeup, shopping, SHOES, all the girly stuff. He said we can try it out but need a name. Okay so the question is.... What would be a good name and description for it?! So I thought I would post this so all the ladies can respond and and we can vote on a name and description. What do all ya'll ladies think?! Come on girls! Lets get some ideas!

  4. Last time I went to gynecologist he put me on estrogen because of 10 yrs of being on the depo shot I hadnt had a period in that many years. The estrogen didnt work so he sent me for alot of other tests (blood work, ultrasounds etc.) He said everything was fine & I should have a period after stopping depo for 6 months or so. So after 8 months of no depo, still no period. This time he contributed it to me being overweight. It has now been over a year since I had a shot. So, suddenly yesterday I had these awful cramps like I might start one, but so far nothing. I now remember why I loved the shot so much, those cramps hurt like hell!! So my questions are: Are …

I was banded a little over 4 weeks ago. I have polycystic ovaries and am on the birth control pill to control that. I also take the pill without the withdrawal week to avoid migraines associated with menstration (with dr. approval). Fairly soon after surgery, I started spotting and randomly and have been pretty much ever since. I have still been taking the pill continuously, though. Ordinarily, I would not have a period on or off the pill. Has anyone else experienced this? I have lost about 20 pounds so far, but this started fairly soon after surgery, so I didn't think it was weight related. Thanks!

I am just frusterated. On a good note, I did get to sleep on my side last night with a pillow for support and I slept MUCH better.

Ok I have a totally strange and personal question, I completely understand if anyone prefers not to answer, but it's really a major concern that I have. I am just starting the process to get the Lap Band and a good friend of mine had gastric bypass 2 years ago and besides a lot of excess skin, her breasts have completely deflated. I'm really concerned that this may happen to me if I have the Lap Band, she told me that with the Lap Band you don't lose weight as quickly so it may not be as much of an issue. Also even when I was younger (teenager) I was about a size 7 with a C to D cup so I've personally never been small anyways. I know that I'm going to lose weight there, b…

Sorry, I usually am not one to post stuff like this but I want to know if anyone has experienced this. Let me say a few things first: 1. I have had my tubes tied for a year. 2. I know that surgery can screw up your cycle. 3. I know that rapid weight loss/change in diet and metabolism can screw up your cycle. So here's my story. Banded 2-22-08, had a period like 3 days after surgery, I think a few days early but not sure, I dont track my cycle. I have since not had a period. By my calculations I am about a week late. I normally have 28 to 30 day cycles. My hubby brought this to my attentiion last night. He claims that he thought I was about to start last week, appa…

Did your surgery postpone/screw up your period your period? I had a period on schedule three days post-op and nothing since. I am about a week late. I have my tubes tied and I know the prego possibility is rare but it is still in the back of my mind.

  20. :help:I got my period this morning for the first time (Day 16 for me) and I was absolutely miserable for 3 hours this morning. Normally I am just bloated and crampy and I haven't been on the pill for over a year so that is my norm. Today, I had unstoppable bowel movements and kept trying to vomit- hadn't eaten yet so not productive. I was sweating profusely everywhere and I was sweating so much on my face that my fiance thought I had put Water on it. I was in a lot of pain and was extremely dizzy. I crushed up a bunch of midol after my calling my doc (who didn't seem concerned) and feel much better after taking them. Has anyone else had this or I am just weird?

Since I've started dropping weight, my periods are VERY heavy and VERY crampy. One of the nurses at Dr. Spivak's office said it's because my body is still creating enough estrogen for a "heavier me" so I've not got too much estrogen in my body and that's why this is happening, and that it should calm down after I stop losing weight. Well, one thing I didn't bring up (because I was too embarassed) was the fact that my sex drive has gone from somewhat normal, to nothing at all. Now i might have irritated the last couple days using the exercise bike which might have made it more swollen, but i'm a little worried. I have no trouble eating or anything like that. I had my first fill about a month ago and have had good restriction, but not super tight. In the last 2 or 3 days, I've noticed that I can barely eat anything -- when I have more than a few bites of food, I am FULL -- last night I had half a chicken breast for dinner and I didn't realize I was STUFFED until it was too late. I didn't PB, but I started worrying that I was doing damage to my pouch. At first I couldn't understand why it was suddenly so tight, but then it occurred to me that I'm PMSing and I get bloated during the few days before my period. Does anyone else have this problem?

I was throwing up bile and in so much pain every month-it was what I imagine a heart attack would feel like.
