Women please help i am going to be banded wednesday feb21 only four days away. I am a little over a week late on my period, i took four pregnancy test all were negative im worried that there could still be a chance because i am never late. What should i do?

im thinking possiably the stress of the surgery coming up has delayed it.

Oh wow..how stressful! The did a pregnancy test for me right before I went into surgery..that morning. Hopefully you'll know before your surgery. I'm sure you are right...just thinking about the surgery was stressful for me too. I hope everything works out ok!!! Good luck

Just call your doctor so they can do a blood test. It might be the stress of the surgery or if you are on a liquid diet that could disrupt your cycle. Are you using the pregenacy strips designed for early dectection since you are only a week late?

I bought two of the clear blue early detection pregnancy test total of four within the two boxes all came out negative.

I was on the cottage cheese/yogurt diet was having problems and feeling sick off of that so my clinic put me on a chicken diet yesterday.

I havent even got a chance to think about the surgery because i have been stressing so much over if im going to have this period or not. I have a 9month old daughter so this was the last thing i was expecting to happen.

I agree with the blood test thing have your doctor test you before you have surgery

Sounds like it's lack of nutrition. When I did atkins, I missed periods all the time. I was told it was the diet. ~Mandy

its probably the diet change....... but the blood test is the most accurate

this same thing happened to me - i was banded 1/8/07. I ended up getting a blood test from my OBGYN, but the nurse told me that they are just as accurate as urine tests. When it was negative as well, she said the change in food and the "stress" of the upcoming surgery was probably the culprit. Good luck!

I'm with ya on the stress issue. I missed mine right before my tummy tuck. I'm sure it was the stress of the whole issue now. Stress can do funny things to our bodies.

Stress is a definite possibility. If you're more than a week late, an over-the-counter urine test is probably pretty accurate unless your hormone levels are unusually low. But to be safe you should have a blood test.
