I could pick up a bit of sarcasm in your email, but aphrodiet, I was not being sarcastic, however, when I re-read mine I could see that it may have been taken that way. Emails, computers, etc, is a kind of cold way to have a conversation, so much is lost in the translation.I have pro-abortion and pro-life friends. We just come out shaking hands when it is over. I hope you'll be able to do the same.
I hope that you will see that I am as passionate about my need to set what I feel is wrong, right as I can tell that you are. So I wanted to alert you that that was a myth. I am by nature one that defends the underdog, and in this argument, to me the baby is the underdog.:eek:

Go to that site and read some more if you can stomach it. I can't, but I do because I feel if the babies have to give up their lives then the least I can do is be informed enough to speak the truth when I need to.
I have debated friends, some persuaded, but some just determined to defend their point, regardless of the facts.
No matter how you tidy it up abortion is murder, of the defenseless. It is our modern day birth control pill. If you think I'm wrong on this I can gather some statistics for you. And making it illegal WILL reduce the number of abortions because some people do recognize the law. This is proven with the few illegal abortions that were done prior to the millions that are done annually.
One of my dear friends used to work in an abortion clinic. She did it while in college. She said the majority of abortions were done by middle class working women.
Yes it is a tough decision, but it can also be a selfish one.

I went to bed, then I got up because something was bothering me. In my posts, I repeatedly referred to myself as a "beliver" and made reference to a generic "God". I think I may have done that in an attempt to not offend anyone. I need to clarify that I am a Christian. I believe in the death, and resurrection of Christ, and the resulting gift of salvation. I fully understand that this differentiation is not important to anyone but myself, but I needed to make it. ANYWAY, this time, I am really going to bed...soon as I get the little blue fairies tucked into bed, and get Santa Claus to roll his big butt over to his side of the bed.

To me, it is like trying to have an argument with someone who is arguing with all sincerity for their belief in the little blue fairies who live at the bottom of the garden, or that Santa Claus really does live at the North Pole.

I find it interesting all of the talk from atheists about good and bad, right and wrong. It seems to me these terms are meaningless outside of a theistic worldview. If we are the product of random cosmic and chemical chance to somehow talk about living as a good human being wreaks of the highest form of arrogance. Somehow atheist seem to miss this point. Why be a good human?

If an atheist can look into their newborn child's face, after the miracle of birth, or look at nature, and the beauty of creation, and think that this all occurred by CHANCE, is quite amazing.
I could only assume that an atheist is someone who's been let down by false religion and sought their only available option that was reasonable to them at the time: not believing in what they once believed in..... I get that.

Well, the fact that 1/3 of unborn babies are killed by abortion isn't hypothetical. Knowing whether one of them is an "Einstein" is and will remain unknowable because once you kill someone you never know what their future potential might have been. What is NOT hypothetical is it's pretty likely that we've exterminated some children who would have made major advancements in this world. Have those advancements been made by others instead? That again goes back to the question of whether God/nature/natural selection/random chance/whatever-you-want-to-call-it would have caused another Einstein to be created and make the discoveries that Einstein did had he, the actual Einstein, not been born.

Its guidelines say that babies aborted after more than 21 weeks and six days of gestation should have their hearts stopped by an injection of potassium chloride before being delivered. In practice, few doctors are willing or able to perform the delicate procedure.

“They can be born breathing and crying at 19 weeks’ gestation,” he said. “I am not anti-abortion, but as far as I am concerned this is sub-standard medicine.”
The number of terminations carried out in the 18th week of pregnancy or later has risen from 5,166 in 1994 to 7,432 last year.

The issue will be highlighted by Gianna Jessen, 28, who survived an attempt to abort her. She is to speak at a parliamentary meeting on December 6 organised by the Alive and Kicking campaign, which is lobbying for a reduction of the abortion limit to 18 weeks.
Jessen, a musician from Nashville, Tennessee, was left with cerebral palsy but is to run in the London marathon next April to raise funds for fellow sufferers.

If that could indeed happen, I'm sure women would not like it. You see, that's because they don't just want to be "not pregnant." They want to not have a baby, and not even know that someone else might have their baby. They want a dead baby.
