MEN ARE AFRAID OF THE DOCTOR. As many doctor's visits and test that are required before surgery will scare a man to death. Melissa

The paperwork was sent in on 11/19/07 and I got the approval letter in the mail on 12/6/07. My surgery has NOT been scheduled yet ... I only have 1 more thing to do before I can be scheduled ... an EGD scope scheduled for tomorrow @ 7AM My doctor likes to do one 2 wks prior to the actual surgery so I figure I will have the surgey real soon......maybe I will find out tomorrow

The well know doctors in Memphis are Dr. George Woodman - met him very straight forward - no sense of humor .:paranoidBut lots of people in Memphis go to him. Dr. Weaver - Heard a lot about her but never met her. Dr. Madan :eek:( he has stopped seeing new patients- because he will be relocating to FL) Dr. Tichansky- MY DOC. All they are looking for is a documented weight for 5 yrs to show you have been overweight. History of being overweight. I called them and asked them for coppies of my chart.... they told me that they charge $ for copies and if my lapband doctor would just send them a fax requesting my chart there would be no fee because it would be a physican to physcian courtesy. So I asked the lapband doctor to do so.... they made me sign a release form saying it was okay for them to request my medical history and they took care of it. I do know other people have had to get their weight from multiple doctor's charts, it does not matter... it is all the same . Oh by the way.... do not get all stressed out on the diet... I actually gained weight and was still approved. :faint: Melissa

For those of you that have Aetna .... DO NOT GIVE UP!!! I started my journey in April 2007 with the seminar and 6mo diet:hungry: , I competed all the paperwork turned in everything including 5 yr history.Finally finished diet in October and met with the surgeon in November. Well my case manager sent in ALL my documents to Aetna on 11/19/07 and ... I was aprroved last Thursday 12/6/07. I am now waiting to be scheduled for the EGD scope and my surgery date. So for those of you who have Aetna .... There is hope. Good Luck , Melissa
