Damn plateaus...

Recommended Posts

GRR! I can't seem to break past 197-199. Last friday I got to 196.8, but now i'm bouncing around between 197 and 199... :)

How did you ladies break past your plateaus? This stinks... I want to lose as much as I can by my birthday which is only a month away.. What were some of your tips?

I feel your pain, although I've been at my plateau for three months now!! I lost 40 pounds in 4 months then blam – nothing. Not any movement on the damn scale.< /span>

I just bought a BodyBugg so I'm hoping that will help me understand where I'm at as for calorie intact v. calories burned.

I read some interesting posts on the BodyBugg discussion forum about plateaus, and it was suggested that if we eat the same thing everyday (which I do, for the most part) and if we have the same exercise routine (which I also do), that our body gets into rhythm and we need to shock it out of that routine. For example, change the exercise routine or have one meal a week that is whatever you want (granted, this suggestion was not directed at a lap band person). I'm trying this out and am hoping for the best. Next week I'll know if I've finally broken my plateau.

Be sure to search "plateau" on this forum though, there were some great posts in the past.

I was going to suggest the same thing. Change something up. Either eat less calories than normal or more than normal for a day or two. Increase your exercise or intensify it for a while.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
