When can you start taking Chia seeds? Im 6wks out & bought some today & was really wanting to start them tomorrow. Is it safe?

So depressed, waiting for revision final approval from aetna and my doctors office. I have 2 more months of waiting if they are going to allow me to have the revision. During this waiting I've gained 20lbs since June. I went in for adjustment in July and I feel like I'm gaining faster. Keep changing up my diet and workouts (well 4 wks I was sick and couldn't workout) just frustrated and wanted to vent and cry lol. Any tips for helping me get this insanity under control, what's helped you when everything snowballed?

Hello all! I had my first trip to the grocery story today. It was the first time I left the house since coming home from the surgery too! It felt so good almost like I was in a movie, kids on bicyles, mailman walking by. I was suprised how easy it was to walk around the grocery store. Very little if anything bothered me, I mean I was looking right at the food and I had almost no desire for anything ,except crossaints of all things. I picked up some tiny cups too, in the baby section. Its pretty amazing how that section now suddenly seems like a valid aisle to go down. I even looked at the baby food too while I was at it. So I have a hobby that I think is pretty cool. Thru this hobby I am able to express myself. I make t shirts and other custom items. In the past I've made shirts that say Fat dudes are in. But because I plan on getting this surgery here are some of the shirts I plan to make. I wanted to share them with you guys. I hope I don't offend anyone. If they have been done before I appologize . I was sleeved 2/6/12 so I'm close to hitting 2 months out. I've lost 33lbs so far with absolutely NO exercise (I had some serious post op complications but now I can get back into the swing of things!), no low carbing, and not being afraid to have a bite of cake or a few M&M's. It seems like a lot in terms of actual numbers- but at the same time I feel a little disappointed that it wasn't MOOOORE! I was hoping to have lost 50lbs by the 13th but I think I'm just going to have to accept that because of the diet choices I have made and will continue to make, my weight loss is going to be slow and steady as opposed to rapid and thrilling. So, I have suffered migraines most if my life. My first one was when I was 15y/o when half of my face went numb, but I digress. I have noticed the frequency is less since my surgery probably secondary to the fact that my blood pressure is better, but when I do get one it's more intense. I did search before I posted for headaches, which most of the posts I found were occuring because the first few weeks you aren't eating. I am 5 months out. I was curious if anyone else is experiencing this. I am not dehydrated, and I eat very well . Thanks for any insight.

These past two days I have been feeling hungry!!! Must remember to get cucumbers the week before my period! I basically ate two dinners tonight! I also need the sugar free popsicles! 7 days of eating like this and I could totally see some weight gain. Today I probably ate 2000 calories easy! I Only had high calorie foods! What low calorie foods pack a good punch in terms of volume?

So I had the band for over two years and had to convert to the sleeve but I haven't been able to lose more weight. My presurgery weight was 243 and I've been 155for a year. I don't know what to do to lose more weight. I do protein shakes in the morning, a string cheese/almonds for snack, 1/4c of food for lunch and again for dinner, i eat healthy and small portions. Any help or suggestions???

i was banded back in 2008 and it was an outpatient surgery but i opted to stay one night since i'd never had surgery before. now, my band has slipped and it has to come out soon. i had surgery on a monday and didn't go back to work until that following tuesday. what can i expect from this revision surgery? is it a lot worse pain-wise than the original band surgery?

Hi sleevers I have a question to those of you who have been sleeved for months and have stretch marks on ur stomach… I was sleeved just a few days ago… how did ur stretch marks change as you lost ur weight?

Tomorrow is my day! I just received my phone call to find out that surgery is at 7:30 tomorrow morning. I am so excited - not a bit nervous (yet). Looking forward to sharing my experiences (all positive I'm sure)! Wish me luck :-)

Hey to all you "BAND TO SLEEVE" people~~~ I was just curious how everyone is doing... I'm in several other forums, but, this is the one I am really interested in the progress you are making because this is the forum that best describes me,,, BAND TO SLEEVE! I am wanting to know if my weight loss is average to what everyone else is doing. I see that some of the folks who are straight sleeve surgery are losing really fast... and I also know it makes a difference as to how much weight you actually have to lose... so.... What has your progress been like and how are you doing? 4 WEEKS POST OP - 17 lbs down. from 206 to 189 lbs.

So I finally told my husband about the surgery (my date is Oct. 8). After I explained it, his response was "so they take OUT your stomach but leave the fat? That makes no sense at all!". When I stopped laughing I explained it again...

Sent my skinny mini sister a text this morning saying "I'm so excited to say I'm down to 399 (what a hideous number to be excited about)..." she was so sweet and encouraging, I truly love her! Soooo....I have a good friend who has been my weight loss buddy for the last 4 years. We have some of the same struggles except she is 165 lbs and has only 10lbs to lose. Meanwhile I'm 300+ lbs and need to lose a good 100 +. O work out try and eat right and she doesn't. I thought by sharing my decision to get sleeved would bring the same amount of support....well not so much. At first my friend was happy and encouraging. I'm getting waaay excited. It used to be 5 more months....3 more months... now that August is here I have this month and then next month I will be sending everything to insurance. If they deny me I will be getting sleeved late Oct and if I am accepted then it will be end of september or the very beginning of October!! Eeek I cant wait for my new life to begin. Im so surprised how hungry I still am 4 months after the operation, I ate at least 8 times today & a fairly decent amount to. I pray to god I haven't stretched something......

As if having surgery isn't stressful enough, my insurance has only agreed to remove the band at this point in time. To have the sleeve considered they are being giant pains in the f-n asses and requiring me to do ALL the paperwork as if I was a new WLS patient. Seriously...could they stress a chick out some more?!?! Anyways, I'm having the band out this coming Monday...is this done as an out patient procedure? I know, Dr should of told me but with all the craziness insurance has caused(not just what I mentioned above), I really don't care to call his secretary again.

I just had my 1st individual appointment with my NUT going through Kaiser insurance. I will be finished with all my class requirements in January. She then told me that I still have to go through the approval process then meet with the surgeon so it wouldn't be until Mar/Apr time frame before I get sleeved. Why does it take so long? I thought i read that other people with Kaiser insurance took about 3 months. It just makes me want to fly to Mexico....but I won't since I need to save that money for my kids' college tuition.

What can break my stalling I'm stuck at 241 for 2 weeks I eat lil more and workout what going on help

Hey guys, So i have decided to have my plastic surgery with Dr. Bello. He works with Dr. Aceves. Has anyone gone back to have a "Check up" with Dr. Aceves? I was thinking since i am going to be there i might as well make sure everything is working the way it should. What do you all think? Denise

Okay, this may not be a big NSV, but it was to me. I have never worn less than a size 22 or 24 in LB jeans, even when I lost weight on my own. But, today I stopped in LB to buy some Spanx and said let me try on some jeans. My surgery was 2 weeks ago today and I could wear a size 20 jeans! Woohoo! I don't know how much I've lost because I decided not to weigh until I go to the doctor on Wed., but I'm pretty happy with that little victory! Yay me...

So my face is full and people always think I'm younger than I am. I'm wondering if having a thinner face is really going to age me. Just one more reason I wish I had done this sooner. I'm expecting to lose weight and look like I'm 30 again because that's the last time I saw myself at a decent weight!

Hello fellow August sleevers. I had my surgery 1 wk ago today! I am down 7 pounds since Tuesday. Just had my first cream Soup today, at least it was not broth. Does any one have any suggestions? I have been taking all my Vitamins (gummy multi- purpose, zinc, Biotin, and Vitamin e.) My girfriend had the surgery in March, she has had problems loosing her hair, she was with me on my journey and asked the doctor about it. She told her she needed to take zinc. I have had no real problem so far. I just drink slowly and take one pill at a time, but if any of you can suggest different liquids, I am on the usual stuff, soup, popcicles, sugar free Jello, green tea, Water etc.…

Hey there everyone. New to the group. I have my last dietitian appointment on Wednesday and then its being submitted for approval. Ive been told by my Drs. office that it should be two weeks max to get my approval. Im really looking forward to this. Will be shooting for mid October for the procedure if approval goes according to plan. I would shoot for sooner but have a trip to the Windy City for work planned for mid month. I guess I get to go out with a bang. Chicago will be a nice place to enjoy myself a bit before coming home to get into the pre-op process. I dont really know what else to say, but that I am so looking forward to the old me. haha

I just wanted to say hi, and that I am doing well, since my sleeve on April 19th. Yes, I am losing more slowly than the norm. Will I hit goal by 1 year? No, I don't think so, but I don't care. So tell me your story, The Good, The Bad, The Ugly! I am trying to gauge how the revisionistas are doing long term after the actual change over. My revision is scheduled on September 17th, which is exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. (A little Bandster history: Banded in 2007; Lost 127 Banded; Gained Back 107; issues started with hiatal hernia, etc., been struggling with fills ever since...always too tight or too loose.) I have never met or spoken with anyone who has the sleeve, so feel free to lend any advice and/or insight. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Iam really struggling with pain below my right ribcage. When i take in a deep breath it is excruciating. The pain meds are not even giving me a little relief. The only thing that helps a bit is if i stand up and bend forward to take a deep breath. I am 6 days post vsg and so this pain started on day 2 or 3 and really has had no improvement. Slast night my husband massaged my upper back and it seemed as though the pain had subsided but this morning it is back full force. No fevers dor elevated heartrate or nausea and vomiting. I had surgery tue am and was discharged thur afternoon, The hosp stay was fine, THe surgeon is great. I did and am having some pain, but I do have good pain meds. I feel like someone beat my belly.I keep hearing things get better daily, so I am looking forward to it. My cat just jumped from the headboard of my bed and landed with all 4 feet on my belly. OOOOWWeee. He loves me and wants to be in my lap.He is about to be banished from my b/r for the time being. I am having to practice small sips. That is hard for me. Just wanted to report in.

So the whole nothing to drink 15 minutes before a minute, nothing during the meal, and nothing 45 minutes after. Is that a lifelong rule? I mean, not even a sip???? I don't want to gulp, but a sip would be nice. When were you allowed to have alcohol? I'm not a big drinker, but I have a birthday coming up and would love to enjoy ONE drink with my friends, but I doubt I can. I am six weeks post op. Why can't I have salad? What does it do to the stomach that makes it temporarily off limits?

Kaiser has approved me for the Weight Loss Program! Now my VSG journey is official. So far, I've had my first nutrition class and had the Weight Loss Control class and I'm scheduled for my first individual appointment with the nutritionist the beginning of Sept. If all goes well, then I hope to get sleeved in Jan/Feb timeframe.....I hope to lose a lot of my weight (need to lose approx. 86 lbs) before I turn 50 in July. Yayyyyy!

Maybe I'm crazy, but I had my doc fix both my Hiatal and Umbilical Hernia when getting sleeved. Anyone else have both these done?

I am scheduled to be sleeved on July 23rd, 2012. I am SO excited, but recently read a bunch of stuff from people who have been sleeved for about 3-6 months on average that worries me. They are all talking about losing about 20-30 pounds total in that 3-6 months after being sleeved and that seems VERY low to me. I am hoping to lose far more than that in 6 months! Am I being too optimistic or are the people I read about just not doing something right? I can lose 20-30 pounds in 6 months without a sleeve and a life altering surgery. Please help - am I doing the right thing to lose weight, right?

Hello, i was banned in 2007 and o will be sleeved 9/5. As the tome is coming closer, i am getting nervous. Does anyone regret having the band replaced with the sleeve. Btw, i was not successful at all with the band. Same issue with throwing up and slimming and not being able to eat the right food, always hungry, etc.
