Feb 2012- How Are You Doing?

I was sleeved 2/6/12 so I'm close to hitting 2 months out. I've lost 33lbs so far with absolutely NO exercise (I had some serious post op complications but now I can get back into the swing of things!), no low carbing, and not being afraid to have a bite of cake or a few M&M's. It seems like a lot in terms of actual numbers- but at the same time I feel a little disappointed that it wasn't MOOOORE! I was hoping to have lost 50lbs by the 13th but I think I'm just going to have to accept that because of the diet choices I have made and will continue to make, my weight loss is going to be slow and steady as opposed to rapid and thrilling.

I still haven't dropped any clothing sizes yet but I can feel I have a little bit more room in certain shirts. Pants don't feel too much different yet :(

All in all I feel great. I can eat anything I feel like eating (except for rice. For whatever reason I am scared to death to even attempt to eat rice of any sort so I've completely axed that from my diet!) and have really good restriction. I can no longer sip Water during a meal because it REALLY hurts! At first it didn't bother me in the least so obviously as my sleeve heals I'm getting a greater and greater sensation of fullness.

How are my fellow Feb sleevers doing??

  • I was sleeved on 2/14/12. I've had no problems at all post-op. It seems like I can eat pretty much anything I want to eat. I haven't tried rice yet because I am also a little scared of rice. Sometimes

  • I had surgery a few, days after you. You're doing alot better than me and I am exercising daily. It's been really slow.

I'm 1/30, so not technically a Feb. 12 sleever, but I feel I bonded with you guys pre-op because my original date was 2/6 (got bumped up). Life is feeling pretty normal, albeit a new normal. I feel

I started at 261 lbs and a size 24. Now I am 184 lbs and a size 14.

I was sleeved the 28th of Feb. I have lost 49lbs. I see so many others on here around the same date as mine and they are blowing me out of the water. Am I doing something wrong?

Angela! Funny you said that, look at my stats. Im only down 50, since surgery and 70 with the preop diet. At 256, I was in a size 22. Now I'm in 14-16's.

Looking good girl. I started at a size 16 and now I am in a 10. So yes progress has definetly been made. I guess I am just impatient. I am stepping up my Water, Protein and exercise. We will get to where we need to be. Good Luck!

I don't think so. We're all different. I blame my slowness, on 1) revision band to sleeve 2) started at a lower BMI 3) thyroid and 4) just my metabolism in general, I've always been a slow loser. I'm happy with my results even though it's taken a lot longer than I thought it would.

^ I started at a lower bmi as well. It will all be off soon, I just want soon to be today. Good luck.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was sleeved 2/23 and I'm down 51 pounds from 226 to 175 and that's not exercising as much. It felt so good to hit the onezees ;•} I have been able to eat just about everything. The only thing I'm afraid to try is bread which was my weakness especially garlic bread. it's okAy I don't need it anyway. The only complication I have had was I had to have my gallbladder removed a few weeks ago. As soon as I'm feeling better I have vowed to start going to the gym more. I bought the Insanity workout would like to challenge myself for 30 days I'll see I heard it's a beast....wish me luck I know I'm going to need it.
