Tonight I made baked turkey burgers with spinach an egg and garlic with a few panko breadcrumbs. I made 12 burgers for family and friends. I have been unfilled with my band for over 3 years and I still get these episodes. After 2 bites, I was so stuck and had to run to the bathroom and sat there for 15 minutes salivating and getting rid of the 2 bites of the burger. Does this ever happen with the sleeve? I am in so much misery with this band in me, it needs to come out but will I wind up the same way or will I have some relief from this kind of thing?

So, here I am...Almost six months out and I have been going up and down with the same ten pounds for two months. It is sooo fustrating. With the band I lost over 100 lbs. Then I gain back 112 lbs with the band. Now I had VSG...I am down 67 lbs and I have been STUCK. I will fess up that I don't always make the right food choices and I have been sort of lazy. But in the past couple of weeks, I have been kicking up the activity and trying to be more mindful of what I am putting in my mouth. Who all were able to get the band to sleeve in one procedure? How many had to do two procedures? And if it was two, how long was the wait time for you?

Ok, guys I am worried about the hair loss I am experienceing. I was sleeved September 10, 2012, a little over 4 months out. I am on levothyroxine due to a thryroidectomy 2 years ago and have been on levothyroxine for about 8 years prior to that surgery. I also understand that hair loss is a side effect of levothyroxine. I never noticed much hair loss until recently and I would like to know if there is any sleever out there who has thyroid issues and has been thru this experience? My blood work done 3 months out showed I was low on iron and vitamin b12 so I am making sure to take all vitamins recommended by my surgeon. I take Biotin as well. Any thoughts or advice …

Wow, I live with myself everyday, so I don't notice the weight loss too much (other than wearing smaller and smaller clothes). But this week alone there were two times when apparently OTHER people are noticing. Went to a local watering hole to watch RuPaul's drag race Monday night. After it was over, my 2 roommates were behind me about 5 paces and said some twink totally checked me out as I walked out. Hi All, I rarely come on the forums anymore. It seems that, once I got past the really tough times with my band to sleeve revision I just drifted away. Anyway, I realized that I will be 2 years post-revision in a couple of weeks and I should probably report in and let the newbies know about my experience. So I'm a month out tomorrow I've lost 34 pounds everyone is say how good I look and you've lost a lot of weight and there saying it like if there in shock and its like really cause I don't see it then they look at me like how can you not see it I don't kno .. The only way I see my weight loss if I have my son take a pic but looking in the mirror it's like I don't kno my clothes are to big I have to pair of pants I can fit now.. Hi All, I am so excited I can hardly breath. My surgery was previously set for April 16th. Today I was informed I have been approved by insurance and date bumped up to March 7th. I start the liquid diet in six days. I am just beside myself. I seriously didn't expect to be approved. Don't ask me why...guess it is just my luck, but today when I got the call, I started crying. I have wanted this for so long and I did everything I was told. I would love it if there are any other March 7th sleevers that would like a support companion as we go through this journey together. Hi, i fear I am going to be a slow loser. Here I am 11 days post op, and i've barely lost anything. its hard to watch all the posts of people saying, "oh hey, I lost 15 lbs at my 1 week post op appt." Not me -- 2 lbs. Sigh. I was wondering if you all had slow weight loss from the very beginning?

I recently had surgery in Mexico 2 weeks ago. I have always just used walk in clinics. I have decided to find a GP that I can build a relationship with. Can anyone recommend a weight loss friendly GP in the vancouver lower mainland? I live in coquitlam but can travel anywhere to see a good GP for my checkups. thank you

My surgery is tomorrow...yaayyyyy! Yesterday, I found myself thinking of what I needed to get done prior. I was crocheting a blanket for my daughter to take to college when she starts this August. I found I had to finish it prior to surgery. Now today, I'm thinking of writing a letters to my husband, son, and daughter in case something happens in surgery. Did anyone else feel like this and actually do it?

Hey everyone! I have not posted in a while! How is everyone doing? Feeling? I am down 87.5 pounds in 4 months! It's the most amazing feeling! I have so much energy and I love being able to go to the misses racks!!! I started at 320. I lost 20 pounds in my 2 week pre-op period. I am now 233.5 and I am so excited to be almost at triple digit loss! To realize that I have lost a pre teen is crazy! Just another 65# till my goal! i want to thank everyone here for the great discussion, comments, and information that i used in helping make my decision. after a smooth and easy insurance approval process i am going under the knife on Wednesday for my sleeve. i'm not terribly nervous, but that might change the morning of surgery. i feel very well prepared and my wife is 100% on board to take care of me. all of the little details are covered - from sending the kids off to my parents' house the night before and night of, to a stockpile of supplies i need, to the mental preparedness. i'm ready to do this, deal with the "issues" for a couple of days, and get on track. i have big goals (maybe i sho…

I was sleeved May 7th and I am 66 lbs down. I am doing great but still have some things to learn. How is everyone else doing?

I was sleeved on January 11th, so this is the end of my 6th week out. 1. I am still getting constant foamy stuff in my mouth (sorry to gross you out). I am constantly having to spit it out. Is the foamy substance considered regurgitation, or something else? It makes it difficult to get all my liquids in, and it is annoying to say the least, and embarrassing. How long does that last? And what can I do to make it stop? 2. One of the food items listed for soft foods is Peanut Butter. Other than putting peanut butter in a shake, how else can peanut butter be eaten, since crackers and bread are forbidden? I was thinking of spreading it on a banana. 3. Does …

I'm not sure what "bloating" feels like to know if I need gasx strips or not. Is it "bloating" when I feel I have to burp all the time? It doesn't really hurt or anything. I just burp a lot.

I am almost 6 weeks out. I am still haveing a hard time swalling water. I love water.... but get a lump in my throat and it feels like I swallowed a rock. How long will this last? This makes it hard for me to get in the required amount of water. I sip water all day long. It is uncomfortable even though I sip.

So I've been on the pre-op diet which I started at 206 and now the day before surgery, I weighed myself and I'm at 198.9!

Can't I do this with out the surgery? You know, eat the crazy small amouts and still lose weight? Why isn't that ok? Who are you using? Who is your doctor? Is it costing you a fortune? And if so how are you financing such an endeavor? Does anyone who has complete the surgery regret it? Thanks so much! I'm sure I'll have loads more questions for you as I begin my journey. I was sleeved on 1/8/13. I just had a bad case of the stomach virus/flu the other week. And ever since I can't drink water, my protein, or my crystal light anymore. It tastes horrible to me. I always feel hungry and get these hunger headachs. Once I eat I am ok. Did anyone feel like this? Not sure if its gas but everytime I eat I feel the food is stuck in my chest/throat. I try to burp and my food also comes up too. I dont eat very much so I try to keep down what I take in. Last night was just 3 tator tots. Suffered like heck waiting for it to go down. I feel like drinking a soda just to try and burp out that gassy feeling I have within. Did anyone experience this?

So I am currently at 200 percent of goal (175) and have told a couple of people this, and they thought it was a discouraging thought. But really, I'm down 57 lbs. I told one friend, I used to be like a normal sized person and a really fat person put together. Now I'm just the weight of two average-sized people. Hooray for me!

I am three weeks, two days out and have been feeling a little more depressed. Very happy I lost 20 lbs. so far but can;t wait to eat more normal foods. Is this normal? I wouldn;t say I'm hungry but I have been obsessing a lot about all the foods I can;t have and am wondering if I will ever be able to eat them again. I know a lot of bread isn;t good for you, but I would love at least a piece of whole wheat toast or bagel. My NUT did not tell me when you can begin to introduce breads or any kind of meat. On the 7th I decided to treat myself to a weigh in. I made the choice not to weigh myself except at nut appts and surgeon appts and each month on my surgery date. Well on happy proud and jumping for joy because in 3 months I'm down 60 lbs and could not be happier!!! How's everyone else doing???

Hi All, I was banded back in 2003 and it worked well the first year! I lost almost 100 pounds. A few years later I had a couple of children. I had to have the Fluid removed from the band during one of my pregnancies and obviously gained a significant amount of weight back. After my daughters were born I tried refilling the band several times but could never regain any restriction in the band. The doctors could never find anything wrong with my band! So I did my preop today. It went fairly well, but one thing really concerns me. My surgeon wants me to disconnect my insulin pump at midnight day of surgery. I'm scheduled for 12. I take tons of insulin a day like 160 units a day. This seems like a very dangerous thing to do. I've heard of people who have had their cats chew their tubing in the middle of the night and have to go to the emergency room in the morning. Am I the only one who thinks this is borderline suicidal? Damn! I hope this isn't the beginning of the end of my high confidence level in Dr Kim. I'm talking to my endo on Monday. I'll have her talk to Dr. Kim about that.

Okay I just need to vent. I had an ulnar osteotomy on my right arm last January (2012.) My arm doctor bitched about me being overweight and I told him I was researching WLS -- he says "oh that's great!" I went to the seminar, started attending my nutritionist appointments... Then I had an ulnar osteotomy on my left arm Nov. 1, 2012. He says wait til January to have surgery. January came and he said wait until march to have surgery. Surgery is Thursday and my medical id bracelet just come in today. The doctor told me that there should be no blind NG tube for the next 6 months as my stomach heals and to limit NSAIDs. Occasionally is ok, but it shouldn't be on a regular basis. I plan on wearing the bracelet just for 6 months so I got a cheap stainless steel one. The total cost was $30 with engraving. I had my first name engraved on the front and on the back I put: VS Gastrectomy date of surgery - weight No blind NG tube no/limit NSAIDs ICE Anyone else wearing a medical id bracelet?

Ok, I'm a little confused. What is "onederland"? I'm thinking its when one has lost 100 lbs, but I'm not for certain. Also, Head Hunger. Hi everyone, Just wondering if my recovery has been normal. I had my surgery on Jan. 25th, and had extreme pain on my left stomach muscle. It hur when I got up and down, when I just moved, and so on. Well, I was hoping it would have been better in a couple of days, but today is February 12th, and although it's not as bad, it still hurts really bad when I get in and out of the car, drive, when I reach for something on the ground, and of course when I sneeze and so on. Today was my first post-op appointment with my surgeon. My day kicked off to a great start to find that I had lost four pounds since my weighing yesterday morning. I've been losing anywhere from one to three pounds every day, so that one about knocked me over. That being said, there's a reason I'm losing so much weight. I'm drinking mostly Water and managing an Isopure about every other day. I'm really starting to feel my body beg for something more. Not as in cravings, but as in just pure sustenance. Hi all, I had surgery Feb. 7 and I'm 2 days post op. I had Lapband surgery 5 years ago and lost 114 lbs, unfortunately the band slipped last year and I had to have it removed, in the meantime I have gained back 50 lbs so I'm looking forward to my Sleeve journey and getting my weight back down again.

Well no backing out now. My sleeve was done this morning. Feel like a semi drove over my stomach, pain meds are great though :-) First day of a new, healthier life!
