Surgery is Thursday and my medical id bracelet just come in today. The doctor told me that there should be no blind NG tube for the next 6 months as my stomach heals and to limit NSAIDs. Occasionally is ok, but it shouldn't be on a regular basis. I plan on wearing the bracelet just for 6 months so I got a cheap stainless steel one. The total cost was $30 with engraving. I had my first name engraved on the front and on the back I put:
VS Gastrectomy
date of surgery - weight
No blind NG tube
no/limit NSAIDs
ICE
Anyone else wearing a medical id bracelet?
