I piled on weight during pregnancy and even after giving birth, my weight still seemed to increase. I had tried dieting and exercising but post natal depression really kicked in and chocolate and wine became my best friend. I had seen my GP who referred me on to dieticans and a phyciatrist. Although they tried to help me, I still went on to the internet and searched for the Worlds Leading Bariatric Surgeon and the name Dr Bruno Dillemans under International Surgery Group came up. I contacted International Surgery Group who I personally found to be very professional and informative and they helped me to get approved for surgery by Dr Bruno Dillemans. Within two wee…

It would be impossible to put into words how absolutely fabulous I am feeling. I will let my pics explain! Pre-op: 368 Today (5 months po): 358 For all the pre-sleevers, I went through days even weeks when I got so discouraged. The scale had times no matter how I stood on the scale it wouldn't move. I promise though, before you know it, it's dropping again!

I'm a post-op patient & I was wanting to get some input on what I need to do. I had my surgery in 2003 & did extremely well, as far as losing the weight. I lost 130 lbs. The only complication I had was in 2005, when I had lost some much weight that my intestines moved & got in a knot. Well, I had corrective surgery, a hernia repair. In March of 2011, I had my first child & maybe my only child, I haven't decided yet. My dilemma is that I have gained a good bit of my weight back. I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else & if so have they lost the weight & what did they do to get the weight off? I'm strongly considering having my bypass turne…

I've heard that aside from walking, you should lift weights to tone and help avoid any loose skin if possible. Does anyone know anything about this? I would like examples of what type of exercises to do. I know absolutely nothing about lifting weights.

  9. Well today is exactly my 90 day sleeve anniversary.. I wanted to write about how my experience has been. The good news is that I’m down 55 pounds, well according to the doc only 47 but that was with clothes on : I had a very long recovery time my doc had me out of work for 4 weeks, and boy I could have used 5 just to get the hang of things. I had 8 holes in me 4 on the left and 4 bigger ones on the right, the big ones hurt it felt like I was getting ripped from the inside out. I’m just sitting here thinking about literally dreading trying to move, whether it be get up, turn over, go potty, walk stairs, cough or sneeze like I said it was pretty brutal. Now I’m pretty…

Sleeved on July 26th 2012 and have dropped 5 pounds. Man that took awhile. I started this whole process almost 1 year ago and in total have lost 34 pounds. This is slow going and I know now that this is definitely a tool and not a miracle surgery. I have always challenged things I "have to" do and it is painfully apparent that it is up to me to use this new tool properly. I pray for strength and direction for success.

Well, last nite I had my food funeral with some friends. I will be starting my liquid diet for pre-op on Monday, and decided I'd like to go out with some friends, eat some good Mexican food...have way too many margaritas, and just soak it up while I can. Everyone wore black...and it was awesome. Definitely glad I did it. I'm going to truly miss food...but i'm not going to miss what it does to me. I won't miss this fat suit that i've been wearing for so long...it's for the birds. I'm probably going to have a mini-food funeral with my mom today...and then one last hoo-rah tomorrow. This is going to suck! But, it must be done.

I'm from Miami and got the band done 6 weeks ago. I got my first filling this Thursday however, I can eat just as much as before. I have anxiety and it makes me wanna eat so that's what I do. I've suffered from anxiety all my life and figure this would help. So far I feel discouraged. I haven't started working out yet because I have been working 60 hr weeks so I'm exhausted. Also, I'm guilty of making poor foods choices. Anyone have any pointers? I have to make this work.

Not only am I hungry but I have a headache and I have low energy. I also have felt lightheaded, my husband is worried about me, but I think this is normal and should go away in a few days. Am I right? Is it ok if I have a handful of peanuts, I don't know what else i can eat to make me feel better. Thanks Miriam

Someone, anyone.. I had my surgery on the seventh of this month and since I've been home I can only think about food. I'm hungry and miss regular food. Is there anyone out there that can give me advice about staying away from food, or what can I do to stop "obsessing" over regular food. I'm still on my liquid diet it's only been a couple days and it's already so hard! Help?!!

Dear all - just felt like sharing something totally positive: Today I am 17 days post-op. I've lost 23 lbs so far and I'm feeling good. I took my daughters to the beach (Cornwall in the UK) and swam in the sea with my 5yr old and taught her how to Bodyboard! I had porridge and banana for Breakfast, scrambled egg for lunch and salmon and veg for dinner (about 3 spoons of each as purée style at moment and tiny amounts fill me up). This is for those who may be struggling or scared about surgery - there are great success stories out there and for me: so far so good and fingers crossed I'll get to where I want to be and keep living my life to the full for as long as possi…

I have completed my inital visit and I have completed all of my "Homework" as they call it. I have one snag that is holding up my paperwork from being sent over to Tricare for final approval.. Hello, everyone! I am a 39 (almost 40) year old wife and mom of two awesome boys. I decided a few months ago that lap band surgery was the way to go. I have lost and gained and lost and gained for the last 10 years and I'm over it. I have Carefirst BlueCrossBlueShield and I feel like I've met all of the requirements, but I am afraid to get my hopes up. I go back and forth between a BMI of 39 and 40...of course the 40 is required. I plan to have a big lunch on Thursday before I meet with with the surgeon. I feel like my future is in the hands of someone who doesn't even know me. It is such and uncomfortable feeling.

I'm the sorta person to tell anyone/everyone because spreading the word can help inform the ignorant and inspire those who need it... My sis had breast implants- doesn't tell anyone, in a way I think (although her choice) because womens bodies are "public objects" she is doing a disservice to girls who are told they are natural and then feel bad for wanting the implants she secretly has! Although there is a lot of judgement with wls I feel confident I can handle it but would love to hear from people who keep theirs private and how they deal with people who ask how they lost…
