I currently have the lap band and feeling “full” ,not a feeling I feel very often actually, but when the band is working it is all pain/pressure in the chest. That’s the sensation of being full, at least in my experience. My question is what is the sensation of feeling “full” like after the sleeve ???

Hi Everyone -- I'm preparing to have my DS in the spring and want to start the vitamins now. I liked Celebrate vitamins back when I had my VSG in 2010. Does anyone here take them? Do their products cover all post-op DS needs? If not, do you have a regimen you like using other brands? The simpler the better, of course! Many thanks. Babette

I just got sleeved 4 days ago and at the time it seemed like that was the best option but now almost every forum and fb group I’m in is just riddled with people getting their sleeves revised to rny or bypass. Is anyone actually happy with their sleeves?

I had my sleeve surgery 8 days ago. I was told that I could have no sugar added popsicles, so I was having an Outshine Strawberry Kiwi no sugar added popsicle. About halfway through I realized that I felt tiny seeds on my tongue. I immediately stopped and threw it away, but it's possible I may have swallowed one or two of the seeds. They're pretty small, but if I did swallow one, could that cause a problem?

I am now 3 days out of my Gastric Sleeve and feel great -- passing gas is easy, I've had a BM, and I'm drinking 60oz of fluids easily. I am off of pain meds and walking around but it seems too good to be true. Should I be expecting a dip or a drastic change in feeling good? I don't want to ger overzealous in my walking/water intake. Hello! I had my surgery on 1/10. The first few days were a bit rough with gas pain, but now that I am on day 6, I'm actually feeling really great. I am currently on a clear liquid only diet (SF Popsicles, Broth, WATER). I'm getting my liquids in, I'm walking (avg 8,000 steps a day). I feel like I'm doing very well! Unfortunately, yesterday and now today I had two explosive BM movements. Both had a yellow/brown watery consistency. It reminded me when I had tried the Ally pills (diet pills). Those pills used to take some of the fat out of food. But I'm not eating any food. So it seems weird. I feel great otherwise. I do not feel sick or weak. I'm getting my chores done. Jus…

I had the sleeve done on 12/29. My weight loss in the first week and half was great- 13lbs. Since then for the last week and half it has slowed to an average of about 2 lbs per week. I realize long term this is normal. Question to everyone - how long after surgery was it for you to see the "crazy loss" slow down to your normal weekly loss? I feel like the period should have lasted longer for me. I'm sure it's different for everyone but I was looking for a consensus.

Two years ago from tomorrow I made the hardest decision of my life and got Bariatric surgery. This was one of the scariest days of my life. I had been on a three week long “fast” where I was only aloud to drink unflavored protein powder and chicken broth(I cheated a few times and had some milk). I remember waking up at 4am to head to the hospital where my surgery would take place. I didn’t feel scared, I didn’t feel anxious. I felt excited. Everything felt right. Although I had prepared myself as much as I could by reading literature, taking nutrition classes, and watching surgery videos, I had no idea what a huge challenge I would face. I knew the basics, I would get sic…

6 days ago I had my gastric sleeve done, I also had a hiatal hernia repair. I haven't been drinking a lot, not only because I'm not hungry but because thinking of certain things makes me feel sick. Can any one relate? Also, I am sooooo over this stomach gurgling!!!!

So, I thought this might be helpful for neurotic people like me who just don’t know what kind of pain is normal. I know everyone is different but I’m hoping this could help someone. For me, day 1 was horrible gas pains that were bearable with walking and pain meds. Day 2 so far has yielded no gas pains, but my bigger incision (my sleeve was laparoscopic and I think the bigger incision is where they actually take out your stomach) is hurting soooo much worse than yesterday. Is this normal? What is your experience? Thanks so much!

Hey everyone! I had my surgery 21 days ago, and I am currently on the soft foods stage. I AM MISERABLE!!! If I eat anymore mashed potatoes, cream of wheat, or yogurt, I’m going to lose it. Is it too early to attempt to start eating solid foods? Or can anyone give me ideas of other things to eat?

went from 266 to 176. My op day was March 30,2017. I was sooo excited. I am so happy and grateful. I think about my stomach everyday lol and definitely watch what i eat to prevent the full feeling because i hate feeling like a balloon that’s about to pop. ew. Losing weight made me gain soooo much confidence like 100% more than anything i had. I look good and feel better. i just wish the person that i did the surgery with didn’t switch up on me and change her attitude. we were friends for almost 8 yrs and she decided to drop our friendship for her new relationship. and it’s sad ? i would’ve never expected that from her of all people. life goes on and i’m …

Anyone else lose slow after they had the surgery? I hate to be one of those people who complain but it seriously gives me anxiety. Anyone else feel like the sleeve didn’t work? I’m 4 months out and 48 lbs lost. I started at 335 and now I’m at 287. Will I lose more? I know a loss is a loss but most of it came off the first month and now super slow. Any advise? Anyone who lost 10 pounds a month hit 100 pounds lost? Just looking for similar stories.

I weighed 297 at my pre- surgery appointment on October 2,2017. My gastric sleeve surgery was on October 17,2017. I only did a liquid diet for two days prior to surgery. I weighed 287 the day of surgery. Today, ( January 16,2018) I currently weigh 228 pounds. I've officially lost 69 pounds in less than 3 months. Is that normal ? I'm female, 42 years old, and 5"6. I'm happy with the weight loss, but curious to know what other people have experienced after having the gastric sleeve surgery. Please note I have a ton of energy...take my vitamins faithfully, I struggle with getting all my required protein intake at times and my appetite has decreased …

Hi! I’ve really been struggling with overeating. I usually feel fine while eating. It’s pretty easy for me to eat compared to what I’ve heard from others. The problem is I often have chest pain or an uncomfortable feeling of being full after I eat. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? I also would appreciate any ideas on how to eat slower. I know when I’m eating too fast because my body tells me, but I just can’t come up with good ways to eat slower. I eat fast without thinking. Thanks in advance!

Thought I’d share about this since it’s extremely rare but I bet there’s someone out there like me. I developed gastroparesis maybe 3 months post op. Surgery August 23. Suddenly had difficulty eating most foods and it progressed to difficulty drinking. I thought I had a stricture and had a barium study. Nope, gastroparesis aka delayed gastric emptying. Anyone in my shoes? For now they put me on a low fiber diet and basically said eat and drink what my body allows. I see a specialist toward the end of the month. He might want a gastric pacer but my surgeon said Even though he has no experience with it post op, only pre-op, do not consider a pacer for a few years. My sis…

Hi, I am contemplating Gastic Sleeve using the DaVinci Robotic process. Have been for 2 years. I play a lot of Golf, 105, and 90 times per year(2016, 2017). Just don't walk the course often. I do this with a couple of medical issues. Lower Back, Apnea, Slightly high blood pressure. No Diabetes, or other issues. I am curious on the (typical) recovery process from a work/travel perspective, Sex and/Or Golf). Will I be able to travel for week, within two weeks? Should I wait until I get to Solid foods, etc.. How long will it be until I recover internally, versus external incisions? Do they use staples, Stiches, Glue on the external incisio…

My mom had surgery December 27, 2017 and she’s now on the purée diet. Every time she eats she gets sick at the stomach and feels like throwing up. What could be the reason? She has tried applesauce, puréed spinach, mashed potatoes, baby food, soups and they all give her this feeling. Today is the first time she threw up, all the other times have given her the feeling she has to but she hasn’t. Will it get better? Is there anything she should do differently? Should she go back to liquid diet? I’ve encouraged her to eat slow, chew slow and drink liquids 30 minutes before or after eating? She does take her medications (that are in pill form )and doesn’t crush them. Could thi…

I just have some questions. I posted this a couple of days ago. Are you supposed to have muscular pain in the left side regularly? I have this pain that starts from the place where they make the main incision. Ive been having this pain for 2 years. It feels like a cramping pain. Has anyone else experienced this? Are you supposed to be in any sort of pain?

Hi all. I'm Shay. I was operated on Nov 20th. I was 288 pre op, the day of surgery I was 280. Take into consideration I was only given TWO DAYS to begin my liquid diet, it was death. Prior to that I was just told to lose 10 lbs but never was told how crazy this liquid diet would be. Anywho, now that I'm almost at 2 months I've been eating solids, no more then 4 Oz. I can't eat all of my 6oz that I am permitted to eat now. I have gone down - 43 lbs. I'm down to 245 but I haven't gone down since I had my NUT appt on Dec 29th. I eat healthy or better choices of food but I snack horrible! I have 2 kids so they ask for cheetos, popcorn, and pita chips which means I have that a…

I am 6 days post op and have been feeling great and yesterday started back on the treadmill. Only did 10 minutes, but I was progress! I moved around a lot more and got a complete 64 oz of liquid in! Then I woke up this morning and my pouch feels very weird. It feels heavy, almost like something is stuck right below my breast bone. My stomach muscles are also super sore when I raise my arms. Did I damage something or did I just do too much yesterday?

Anyone else’s stomach make fantastical new noises post operation? Just wondering if this is the new normal or if I should be concerned. I’m 4 weeks post-op and on advanced purées. Following all the rules carefully. On a side note my family is getting a real kick out of my stomach noises, which sound like a gurgling Chewbacca and/or predator. Not joking.

So doctor’s orders are 64oz fluids and 80 grams of protein. I make it through mornings ok but day 4 and I can’t even come CLOSE to 64 ounces. I get through a slow 16 all morning and then heartburn sets in. Anyone else have this issue? Are the numbers that critical the first few days? I don’t want to force it for fear I’ll want to puke, but 30 ounces seems low.

Hi I'm 9 days post surgery. I'm getting all my protein in, drink 64 oz fluids + a day, and still feel really weak and tired. I just went to the bathroom to urinate and my pee was a nice light colored yellow, but super cloudy. I read this is likely excess protein in my urine. Is 80 grams excessive? Might I be getting too much? Has anyone else experienced this? I'm feeling nauseated and like I want to go to bed (it's not bedtime), like I might just pass out. It's too late to call the doctor.

My experience: I had my VSG on May 7th. My recovery has been wonderfully uneventful until day 13 post op when I started having pain in my left flank. It was mostly a dull pain that was there constantly, but would become much worse and very sharp if I cough, sneeze, breath deeply, move a certain way, etc. On day 16 post op, I called my doc's office when I realized it wasn't getting better. They told me to get to the ER right away. All blood and urine work came back normal, so they thought perhaps it might be a leak and sent me for CT scan. Good news is no leak, but they did find a splenic infarction. A small part of my spleen isn't getting blood supply from where th…

Alright so I am two days into my Disneyworld excursion and I am finding it so so hard to get calories in. Water I am getting better at. My problem is it’s so hot and humid that I need to drink tons. I was told water was more important then food and with the whole 15/30 rule going 45 minutes without water multiple times a day that’s precious water drinking time. But I’m burning around 800/1000 a day with all this walking but only getting in 400 or so. That’s so so bad. I try to only eat food unless it’s super high protein but I feel like as this point my body will start to go into starvation mode or something. Advice help more food ideas. I’m in soft stage and 7 weeks out.

Hi everyone! I’m about a month away from my gastric bypass surgery and I have started to do some research on the vitamins and other medications I will be taking after surgery I’m regards to headaches and pain I usually take Advil, but due to the risk of ulcers after surgery I cannot take it anymore. I find Tylenol doesn’t work for me and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what they use to manage headaches and pain that won’t do any harm. Thanks all!

Had VGS 12/29 - 11 days post op. After a brutal first three days, I forced myself off of pain meds, started walking 2-4 miles a day and now I feel outstanding, lots of energy, minimal discomfort. Doing fine with liquids apart from some minor cramps/spasms if I swallow too fast, or it is too hot/cold. However, I was told I could eat sf jello and ff plain greek yogurt but both of those cause immediate gripping stomach pain. Had 2 tablespoons of greek yogurt last night, terrible stomach ache followed by diarrhea. Is this normal?
