I’m 3.5 weeks post op and I’m having nausea with anything but protein shakes or Fage yogurt. Weeks two up to three it was diarrhea. Now constipated and needing to take Zofran to curb nausea at least once a day. My nutritionist said I still need to try new foods and eat very very slowly. Anyone have advice?

Before surgery I was a lark owl (idk if that's a thing but I was just as happy to wake up early as I was staying up late.) Now that morning aspect is beyond gone. I struggle to get up and usually feel sick. Today I called in because I was sure I was going to pass out. I've been up for 2 hours and I'm starting to feel a little better. Anyone else go through this? Do I just have to drag my feet through mornings now? I don't see my doctor or get lab results until the 2nd week of Feb. SW: 366 CW: 329 GW1: 200 RNY Dec 18, 2017!

Hi, I had my surgery on 1/26. I am able to tolerate my liquid diet so far with no real issues .. The problem I am worried about is that I have not lost any weight ??? Shouldn't I be losing ??? I know it is probably a silly question but I wonder if he didn't make the sleeve small enough ??? Has anyone here gone thru the same worries???

Hi I just had my sleeve done a couple of days ago. I have just read on other sites of people having a problem with drinking liquids. I have not had any issues with that.. Is this also normal ? It also looks as I have gained a pound since the date of surgery. I know it sounds crazy but I wonder if the pouch is small enough.

Hello! I have gone to numerous grocery stores and I keep seeing Dreamfields Healthy Carb Living pasta. While a 2oz serving has 41 carbs, they said that there are only 5 carbs because those are the only digestible carbs (the other carbs are fiber or protected carbs, whatever thise are). I am a pasta LOVER, but I'm also a skeptic. 5 carbs in a bowl of pasta?? Has anyone spoken to their NUT or doctor about this or tried the pasta themselves?

I love the premeir Protein shakes. As a matter of a fact, they are the ONLY Protein Shakes I can drink since surgery. All of the others upset my stomach. The problem is that I remember my nut telling me that for a protein to count, the first ingredient has to be whey isolate. Of course it's not even listed in these shakes. Does anyone know what's so important about the whey isolate? Shouldn't any protein be good??

Just joined this forum! So far it looks great. Tomorrow (Mon, 1/29) will be my 2 week mark post-op. I stopped losing weight (was losing while on liquid only) once I started eating pureed food on day 8 post-op. When will I actually start losing weight?

I had my sleeve done on 1/16/18 and was able to start drinking my protein shakes again yesterday. For the first 3 days I was struggling to get my protein water down. It would take half the day to drink a 20oz bottle of Isopure. Now that I’m back on my Premier Protein shakes, I drink the 11oz container in like 5 minutes. I sip water throughout the day and really have no urge to eat anything else during the day except for missing food because I know I like it. Should I be concerned that I can get that much liquid down so quickly after surgery??? I see most people struggle to get down an ounce or two. Also, on days 4 and 5 I’ve tried having coffee in the morning…

I am 10 day post op .surgery on Jan 18th. Today I thought let me try to clean my house. I vacuumed and mopped floors cleaned and organized kids rooms. I started noticing my incisions being sore.. then the main one above my belly botton where they removed by stomach is so sore right underneath.. could have damaged something .? I was bending over a lot and of course when I got to the point of pain is when I decided to stop.. such a typical women/mother move.. and now I'm laying here in pain. I even ended up taking a left over pain killer.. Help..

Hi ladies, I am currently 16 months post op with pcos and I have lost 100 kilos. At 12 months we were given the go ahead to try for a baby but my periods stopped. After months of testing they found I have really low estrogen due to the rapid weightloss ( apparently this is common). We are starting induced ovulation with fsh injections next week. I'm just wondering what you eat/ate while trying to conceive or once you were pregnant?

Omg... I'm 8 days out still on the full liquid phase.... and all I can think about is pizza, cheeseburgers, tacos, pasta, omg.. ( being a bit dramatic but honestly this is how I sound in my head) . ...omg.... I need some help motivation.. I know I can't eat them I can seriously hurt myself.. so I know that is what is holding me back and the main reason on why I needed to have this surgery cause I couldn't control myself.. but seriously this is all I'm thinking about.....

I am currently on Lisinopril, Levothyroxine, BUSPIRONE HCL , BUPROPION, and Prozac. The Bupropion and Prozac are TERRIBLE!! They make me gag and my mouth goes numb for about 5mins. So my question is can I swallow those two pills? The Prozac is in a capsule and the Bupropion is round and about the size of a dime.

Hello! I am 4 days out from being sleeved and now that I am transitioning to pureed foods per my doctors orders, I am finding I get massive sharp pains when I eat. It comes in a wave and almost feels like a gas bubble moving it's way up. It's mainly localized under my left breastbone. I'm assuming it's either gas or my stomach moving that is causing the pain. Have others experienced this as well??

Hi there! I’m two days post op and I’m supposed to get 60 grams of protein and 64 oz of liquids in per day. So my question is how fast do I drink my protein shakes? Like an hour to drink one? I just don’t know how to get everything I need in by the end of the day? Anyone have any tips?

I had my surgery 10 days ago. And I still feel pain when walking, unless I support my stomach. The pain is in the largest incision region. It kind of makes me walk hunched over. Other than this pain is minimal. Do others have this pain? I thought the pain would be gone by now.

I'm 4 weeks post-op, still on the Soft Food phase, eating around 700 calories a day, and I'm having a weird bowel problem where I'm getting horrible abdominal pain a few times a day (not when I'm eating; hours later), a horrible urgency to go to the bathroom, and then I either can't go (which feels like constipation) or if I do, it's loose and watery. I started taking a stool softener 2 days ago (when I couldn't go) so I'm think it's constipation but the stools are loose because of the softener, but I honestly don't know? Is it the more solid food I'm eating (more turkey, cheese, and things like bean chili that I've introduced in the last week) and if so, which ones? Shou…

So I had my 6 months check up at the hospital on Thursday, 1 day before 7 months. I saw my surgeon who could not be more thrilled with me. I have lost 82% of my excess weight. (which is a little strange as I have lost 91% of what will give me a normal BMI) They don't want me to loose too much more weight as I'll start to look sickly. They don't think I'll need any plastics, as I don't have an over hang and my blood results are great (the doctor at my support group will probably disagree. All my values are within range, but some are in the lower end, and since she is a specialist on supplements for bariatrics, she prefers us in the upper range). They also have a scor…

OK this might sound dramatic but does anyone else feel like they broke up with food? I'm 7 weeks out currently. Weeks 1-2 were a non issue as I was so focused on the medical aspect of my procedure and could only have liquids anyway. Fine. Then came weeks 3-4 and I could have pureed food. Joy. Problem is I didn't like a majority of the approved foods in this stage so it was more like a repeat of weeks 1-2. All I wanted was to chew on some veggies. Crunch! Can you imagine a crunch in your mouth?! Anyway week 5 was fine as I could finally have soft food and my diet was basically any type of food you could make from ground turkey. Now here I am, cleared for al…

I’m not going to sugar coat anything. My surgery was Monday and today is Thursday. While I was in the hopital I felt great. The staff controlled everything I might be feeling through IV medications. My surgeon visited me the morning after my surgery and asked if I wanted to go home. I did because I was feeling great. BUT, after I got home and all the pain and nausea medications wore off I felt miserable. They gave me liquid pain meds but I couldn’t keep them down. I couldn’t keep water down. As soon as anything touched my mouth I began dry heaving. I continued to try sipping but it was horrible. My stomach was bloated and felt like it was full of fluid. I phoned the…

I am 8 month's post op and lost 75 pounds so far. It's been a roller coaster ride these past few weeks. I have been trying to stay on a strict regimen with my diet but there are times I do slip and have some carbs/sugar. I'm starting to feel disappointed in myself. I'm starting college this week and I am so stressed and nervous I don't even have an appetite and I know I am not drinking enough liquids. Plus, lately I've been waking up early in the morning dry heaving and throwing up foamy spit. I started taking my PPI again too. I just feel like this is because I am not doing something correct. I also get dizzy if I stand up too quickly from sitting, or if I bend over to p…

I had band to sleeve. 1/4/18. I was doing fine on liquids. Now it’s soft foods & I always feel I’m full, but hungry. I know that makes no sense. The full feels like it goes all the way up to my throat. All I’ve had are smoothies, cottage cheese, protein drinks. Just frustrating! Anyone else feel this?
