Had a fill again after two months and today was the first time I could eat regular snce then and within a few minutes after eating my first bite I had really bad chest pains. Or at least the pain was in my chest area. I stopped eating and it stopped after a bit. To me tho, after that I really paid attention, it seemed more like bad gas pains. Any suggestions what I might have done wrong? I chewed well, it was scrambled eggs, so I wouldn't think it was that, but.....don't know. I'm at 6cc in a 14cc band. Would overeating possibly cause it? Or maybe I ate too fast? My Dr. does more RNY's than bands so I don't feel real confident in asking him and I don't know very…

I don't know what to expect if they do a fill. Can so one tell me wha t happens during a fill and also after. Do u think it will help me? I feel hungry noe where before I did not. Hi my name is Maddy and I really want the lap band surgery but I'm not sure if I'm too young. I've heard a few stories about people who have had the surgery who are my age and are fine but I'm still curious. I would have never considered this before but I've done everything to try to loose weight and I can't . My parent's are fine with it but I want to know if there's anyone out there who's got any useful information about life after. I've been teased about my weight before an one girl got detention because of what she said. Another girl I used to know asked me if I was still fat on Facebook chat and then after arguing she said "f**k you fatty" and I feel like it's only g…

So today I got my first fill. I had no fluid in my band and he put in 2cc. Hoping this helps. After a rough start (first 3 days I was wishing I didn't have it done), to being down 12 lbs and awesome blood sugars, I am not regretting anything!! The journey continues...

For those of you using the program, is there a way to sort through the food lists? Since anyone can post a food, there are tons of repeats; same thing posted a different way. I can be looking for the MOST simple thing, and have to scroll through tons of whatever to find it. For instance.... plain brown rice. First I get all of the companies that make brown rice; brown rice pilaf, brown rice with this that or the other thing. Would be great to be able to cut to the chase

Hello all, I'm 23 and ive had the gastric band since I was 18. I lost about a third of my goal weight within the first year, however then had complications and had to have the band infastened for about a year. Long story short, I was in hospital unable to eat for 3 weeks (iv drips), I lost almost all my goal weight from this, (Unhealthy and by accident) but put almost all of it back on after (65%). Since then (About 2-3 years) I've sorta thrown in the towel, but I know I need to change. I find it extremely hard to say no to food. Im cutting back my portion sizes and stopping my snacking. However, what o find the hardest is exercise. I have severe pain in one ankle …

It has almost been 2 years in July and I have got fill after fill and a few unfills! I lost 60lbs and after this last unfill due to being so tight I couldn't even swallow my spit I have gained back 20 of those 60 pounds back I am going for a fill today after not having hardly any fill since February only because the last fill I had that was so tight has freaked me out about getting to tight again and not to mention my husband is so against me getting fills now after all that! I'm just scared I will never be in the green zone. I only need to lose 30 pounds to be at goal. I'm praying this fill today will be it! I guess what I'm getting at is if I get only .2 .3 fill will i…

I got a fill yesterday. And today has been my worst day ever. I think the band is too tight that I can't even pass my on spit. I have been throwing up all day. I haven't been able to drink or eat anything. I called my doctor but he can't see me until tomorrow morning. I am scared my band is going to slip. Any advice on how to feel better.

Does any one have any good advice about eating out? I do well as long as I am at home and can stick to my routine. Eating out socially is a big problem for me. I went out to an upscale mandarin restaurant and just didnt do well with my food choices. It's not the portions really, it's more the options. Really didnt have anything to go for low calorie. I mean. Egg rolls, chicken fried rice, beef skewers, shrimp toast, general tsao chicken, beef with pea pods, crystal noodles with shrimp and chicken! I'm like really? I know the simple answer is to have self control and say No! It's just not that easy at times. I logged everything I ate in MyFitness pal and I still didnt do t…

I know everyone is different as far as daily activity levels and how much they burn each day and that we should have a 1000 calorie deficit for losing weight. Some days I am ravenously hungry with like 1300 calories and others I have problems getting in over 700 calories. I have to eat regularly to control my blood glucose levels or else my liver will pump me up and I will get high numbers without eating for more than 5 hours. I rely on complex carbs to slow the sugar spikes, but how much are we supposed to get to keep our bodies out of storage mode? It's a mystery to me. I try to keep active and even track with a fitbit one. Any insight?

I got my 5th fill yesterday. I have been burping almost constantly. Not big belches but more like trapped air that keeps coming up. I did have reflux a few times last night but not too bad. I was able to eat some mashed potatoes, pudding and soup slowly. I drank a protein shake this morning but am still having the burps. Am i too tight? Should I wait a few days? Maybe my stomach is still a little swollen from having a fill? I went from 5cc to 6cc. I just didn't want to get in a situation where I have to go to the er or pay after hours prices. Has this happened to any of you?

Do any of you keep a blog that is not on this site? Like on Wordpress or blogger? I'm looking for blogs of banders that are from a similar timeframe as mine... There are some great blogs from banders who have been around for awhile and have met their goals...i guess I'm looking for some newbie blogger friends.

I have been working out in a boot camp environment and walking every other night. On Friday I had taken the day off from working out and on Friday night I was in terrible pain. This was pain all around my port, now a week has almost past and the pain is less but I feel like my port is being hit by my rib cage. Anyone experience this? I feel fine, I can eat, breath, I have no nausea, heart burn or a fever. There are times that I am unable to swallow and there is no fluid in my band.

I saw that fill centers USA closed. That seemed like a great option for Mexico patients. How did you find a fill surgeon? I'm a revision surgery and my old doctors office (but not the surgeon herself) said the office would do my fills. I'm worried though because they didn't know it was done in Mexico and I'm trying to lose weight and I'm smaller, and I'm afraid they'll think I'm a headcase. I just need to keep moment until a fill or I'll lose my groove.

I haven't been to the gym very much in the past 3-3.5 weeks because I'm having some pretty serious hip problems that I'm going to see an orthopedist for soon. But I want to be able to at least maintain my weight while I'm going through all of this, which means I need to alter my diet a bit. Does anyone have any tips for a diet to help maintain?

So after almost a month, time to think abt my band and weight loss and ridding the 7 pounds I gained. Fear eating is ferocious. Yesterday 2000 cal. Day before 2200. I posted a couple of days ago about left upper arm/shoulder pain after my second fill. I emailed the doctor this afternoon, and he said that I need another upper GI swallow, and if that's okay, then he'll do an upper endoscopy to make sure everything is okay. I think I'm a bit freaked out because his office called me rather immediately, and got me in to an imaging center Monday morning. Geez......I did not have any of this pain until after that second fill. I hope this isn't the start of lap band complications. I was doing great until this..

Hey everyone! So I'm on week 2 of my liquid diet which means I can have soup with no chunks. I went to the grocery store to look for some that I could have because my doctor prohibits any kind of milk right now. I bought the usual canned stuff but then I found these soups that have between 11-13 grams of protein per cup! AND there's no milk or cream in them. Granted, I can't have the real portion so I strained out the soup and then blended the chunks as much as I could. Still, I thought I'd share in case anyone doesn't know about them. They're called Campbell's Go Soups and they have several kinds. One thing I will note is that the Isopure Flavorless Protein Powder I usua…

Hey everyone! I have a quick question. I've called around to a few stores and I'm having trouble finding prenatal chewable vitamins. I'm not pregnant, but I know that these vitamins have ALOT of the minerals/nutrients that women need. Has anyone seen them around? I've seen the gummies, but my doctor said to not take them because they don't have all the minerals in them as chewables do.

Just joined maybe a week ago and found this forum from NJ...so hello! Looking to follow the group, ask questions and hopefully get some replies. If I can offer some advice, just ask, weight loss is more then losing weight, it's the problems and issues that make weight loss slower and needs to be addressed in the subconscious mind.

37th wedding anniversary. Had 1,500 calories for just dinner! Oh well there is always tomorrow. I have lost 130 lbs since July 30, 2012, but today I splurged. I am only at 3.8 in 14 cc Realize band and have absolutely no restriction to date. I am going to get another fill next week, so hopefully I will be better off with being satisfied with smaller portions and wiser selections. On the plus side i ate a lot of protein with dinner. Guess I will shoot for negative calories tomorrow.

Hi, everyone I was banded 2 May 2013 ,everything went well with the op.....I lost 5kg the first week and was very happy with myself. I know it was because I was to scared to eat or try anything,But when the hunger started I started trying normal food...meaning my bread and then I realized that I could eat exactly as I did before surgery and that is a prolblem.!!!! I know a lot is in our heads...but it is difficult when your tool allows you to eat and feel as if you were never banded at all. I struggle ....I have my first fill next week the 14th and hope that it will give the restriction I need. I need to have that tool so it helps me too form new habbits, Please don…

I just had my very first fill. I was so nervous, but I didn't feel a thing, so it was a lot of anxiety but that's because I didn't know what to expect. He gave me 4cc's. After he gave me the fill he had me drink some water and I didn't feel anything, which he told me was good. It's been about an hour and I actually feel a little tightness so that is good that I can feel it. I wasn't filled at all from the surgery. He told me to have liquids for the rest of the day and tomorrow mushy foods and then slowly try the solids again. So that's my plan! I'm just glad to have the first one behind me so I know what to expect!

Had my second fill appointment yesterday. I lost 5 lb. in 2 weeks, so I only got .5cc for a total of 2.5cc. I told him I have been hungry between meals which is why I got the .5. On liquids today so I will see soon if I have any difference on the hunger. I have another appointment in 2 weeks for another fill if needed. Hope I continue to lose 2 lb a week, that would be awesome!

I was banded March 22,2013. Today was my first follow-up with the Doctor and my first fill. I found out I have a 10cc band. Forgot how much fill I got. I have lost post surgery 22 lbs with 2 weeks of staying the same weight . One week was the first week of Real food and second was last week. I was opting not to get a fill--- BUT the last 2 weeks I wasn't feeling full after my 1/2 c servings. This going on Clear liquids for 2 days Is MENTALLY Challenging.. 2 days of the Full liquid is not going to be much better.. I no I can do this. But weather is raining and School's out for Summer so I 'm not working. Got to keep busy with something. I have 39 more lbs to go t…

Hello everyone, It's been months since I posted but this whole weight loss journey is a bit confusing when it comes to losing inches and never seeing the scale move since my last fill four months ago. Last fill 7.1 roughly four months ago, I believe, I'm in the green zone as I rarely hungry and can literally go 10 hours in between meals and have before many days of the week. So question is... I have lost many inches all over, just this week alone, I was measured for a bra and found I lost 10 inches alone around my back and bust area. My stomach area, 6 inches, my hips 4 inches, legs 2 inches.... Sooooo why in the world am I not seeing any numbers move on the …
