I got my third fill yesterday and drank the water he gave me with no problem. I got home and had broth for dinner and are about 7 or 8 spoonfuls before I was very full. I went to bed almost in tears because of the discomfort I was feeling. This morning, I woke up and drank about 2 oz of water before driving to school. I had to pull over to throw up, and then I had to throw up again as I was walking into the bldg. that was about 3 hours ago and I'm still very uncomfortable and constantly feeling like I need to throw up. I haven't even been able to drink any protein shake. Is this normal?!

I was banded on 3/22/13 I have lost 22 lbs. since banding and 31 total. I have no problem with my surgeon, but his nurse is HORRIBLE -- so I feel I am doing this on my own.. I changed to a different office and will have my first appointment since surgery on June 5th. would like to talk with those who have lost without fills. I am losing 1 -2 lbs a week, Haven't gained but stayed the same the week I started eating real food. I have 40 lbs more to loose. I am happy with this loss and Have the full feeling at 1/2 cup of food. Thinking if things are going good why mess with it. I see so many that get too much or not enough..It gets to be expensive and I am going away…

I seen the doctor on Tuesday (I hadn't ate anything yet). Told him I had been having some trouble but he just thought it was from stress do to family matters. After I left and went to eat, I couldn't eat anything. Now on day 3 still unable to eat. Some liquids stay down and some don't. No food will go down, not even milk magnesium. Just wondering if I could have a slip.

I just signed up for the procedure with Dr Kuri. The only thing I am concerned about though is the fact that he uses the original allergen lap band. The nurse told me it is because the new ones have more difficulties and the old one is better. Is this correct?? I found a doctor in Milwaukee that will do fills when I get back. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I get banded on May 21.

First, I went to the doctors for mammogram today, and decided to step on the scale. It's been about two months since I've weighed myself, and I stepped on wearing my big heavy boots and pants and everything. But to my unbelievable surprise, I was in Onederland!!!!! And not just a little bit, I weighed 198! The second was later in the day when I went to The Gap to buy some clothes for my five-year-old daughter. Not only am I not wearing an extra large shirt anymore, but a large…. But I fit in a pair of their jeans!!!!! JEANS!!! I have never, ever, fit in a pair of Gap jeans. Because I have a really big butt! :-) Anyway, for someone who doesn't follow the rules very we…

Just out of total curiosity....for those of you in the Green Zone, how many calories do you average each day? I realize everyone is different. And I am mainly just curious to see what the average is.

One of the head hunger issues that really haunts me is using food as a reward. Yesterday, I planted my butt on a bicycle seat for almost 3.5 hours and burned 2200 calories and I finished up the day with over a 1000 calories that I didn't eat. Once a week, I take my two girls for fresh donuts in the morning before I drop them off at school and this was the morning. As we approached the little voices in my head kept singing, you were good, you exercised, you deserve a donut over and over again. As my girls picked out their donuts I could literally taste them in my mind, but finally I stopped and said, NO, what I deserve is to be thin, turned and walked away with my daug…

Has anyone used a NutiBullet in the different stages of your weight loss journey? It looks like a good way to get the nutients needed. Looking for opinions worth the cost or not? Better then a blender? Juicier? I was thinking for the liquid and mushie stage or for making smoothies.

I've noticed a lot of people who have been banded for awhile still drink protein on a regular basis. My doctor says that when I'm healed I should get my protein from food not drink as it will keep me full longer. So I'm wondering, do those of you still using shakes have them in the morning because you can't stomach breakfast? Or do you have problems actually eating enough protein? I get banded in a week and a half and I'm trying to learn all I can. Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.

I got a fill on 4/24, did my 2 days of liquid and everything was fine! .. the next day (Day 3) I went to a house warming party, ate all kinds of finger foods, again just fine.. Now 3 days ago my sister handed me a piece of beef Jerky that I was able to get down with no problems but about an hour later, I had this horrible burning in my throat and had to vomit over and over, it was pure torture. Now it is 3 days later, I haven't been able to keep anything down, and not in that "I know i need to stop eating because its building up" I will take my small bites eat a little bit and an hour later it will all come back up. I've had the band for 3 years now and I know what it …

I've had a stuck episode for the last hour with sharp, shooting pain coming probably every minute. It comes in very even, predictable waves and I don't know what to do. I don't have anything on hand like papaya enzymes or anything like that, and it's the middle of the night and I'm at home. I think I'm stuck on a piece of a hazelnut, which I'm not sure why I ate in the first place, but I feel like it's scratching my insides. I tried drinking a cup of coffee, but that hurt, and it didn't seem to loosen the band. I also took some aspirin. Is there anything else we can do?

Hey has anyone been able to find sugar-free yogurt? The only ones I found our just Fat-free. And while were on the subject what about frozen fruit bars without added sugar, couldn't find any at Wal-Mart? Do they exist? I did find sugar free Italian Ice and sugar-free Popsicle. But that's not what I wanted. I thought there would be some fruit bars with Splenda or something. Thanks ~~~Stephanie

I was just looking around on Amazon and I found a book called "Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery" by Patt Levine and I was wanting to know of anyone that owns it and recommends it. From what I have read about it, it has a lot of good recipes for days, months and years after surgery. A good recipe book I think will help me on my journey and help other people too! One of the feelings I'm struggling with to make the decision to go ahead, is that this is a cop out, I feel like I've failed to have enough self discipline to do it on my own without surgery. It feels like it's taking the easy way out. Have any of you had to overcome the same thing, and how did you come to grips with it?

Is this group dead? I hope not. I am 65, and at high risk with a high BMI & co-morbidities. I have been studying wls for 10 years. I have Medicare now and can get the surgery. I'm going with the Lap Band. I'm on the pre-op diet, and have lost 25 pounds in 3 months. I live in Dallas and have chosen the best surgeon in the Southwest, but I am thinking of changing because his office is quite far away. So now I'm looking for the 2nd best surgeon. I'm a member of at least 5 groups to get a balanced view. They range from gastric bypass to lap-band to hard core fanatics who hate the surgeries and have had horrible experiences. I have a lot of links and information for …

Right now it seems like I have a long way to go till my surgery, but life has taught me, time goes by before you know it. My year of working with the insurance company began on February 1st this year. I wish I hadn't waited so long to come to this decision. I kept thinking I could lose weight through Weight Watchers. I'd done it before but it always came back with a vengeance. Anyway, I'm imagining, if all goes well, that I'll have surgery mid-march, I hope. I have to do this for me. My ankles seem to be always swollen, clothes never fit, my knees are starting to ache if I walk any distance. I still think I'm too young to be falling apart. Anyway, nice to meet you a…

I am three months out and filled to 1cc. I have had what I believe to be restriction from the beginning but am very concious about how much to eat. I pretty much am able to chew and swallow as I always have I just get what I call my faux-burp signal when I'm done. My question is how filled were you when you had your first "stuck episode"? I am losing weight really well and don't want to get too full for no reason and have any problems with side effects.

So I am getting the band hopefully around the end of September early October. I forgot to ask at my consultation about the fact that I'm Hypoglycemic. I should be okay if I'm eating every few hours but I know if I don't eat a lot I get dizzy. I'm nervous with the size of my stomach I will be dizzy a lot of the time. Any one experience this or have any opinions on it ?

So, I got my first fill of 2cc on May 21st, and really haven't noticed any difference. Until that is, this morning at 4 am while I was eating my lunch at work. I forgot to chew my piece of chicken enough, it was a little scary but I made it through. Does it take a couple of weeks to notice a fill or could this just of been because of the rainy/humid weather and Time of the morning?

I have a coworker that brings the most delicious looking smoothies to work. I wondered if any banders have tried them. I have a hard time with certain fruits and thought this mind be a great way to also get them back in my diet and also try some different protein shake ideas. I've been drinking store bought Premiere for a year and a half now. I need a change.

Hey guys! So I seem to get stuck quite a bit but I don't feel like I have enough restriction. It's a weird situation because I feel like I could stand to get another fill for a bit more restriction but I can't imagine getting another fill and possibly getting stuck more then I am now. My name is Jessica Bilodeau. I was banded on 4/24/2013. I've been doing ok on the liquid diet but am looking forward to adding soft foods tomorrow. I am hoping to find a buddy in the North Texas area. I live northeast of McKinney in a little town called Trenton. I would love to find someone in my area where we could get together once in a while to walk, chat, just to encourage each other. Some of my family was not supportive of my decision to have the lap band, but I know what I needed to do for myself, and I'm happy with my decision. If you'd like to buddy up, even if you don't live in my area, please send me a message. I think this forum is such a good idea to encou…

Hello everyone. I had surgery 12/21 and have received 4 adjustments. My last adjustment was 4/18 and I feel I am at my green zone. I had an appt 5/20 and my dr and I decided I did not need a fill. I have been eating a good meal until 2 weeks ago. Now I'm not able to eat hardly anything. (4-5 small bites then done!) recently I started drinking warm beverages prior to eating and I can eat a tad more. I'm not losing weight at all now and actually gained 1-2 lbs. Have anyone else experienced this issue? I can NOT eat Breakfast anymore. Not sure if its due to my aggregated allergies or what. pre-op wt 344, current wt. 277.4

Hi everyone, this is my first post, I had my surgery May 16th. Since then I lost 14 lb but for the last week it has completely stopped. I usually eat about 800-1000 calories a day and walk about a mile or swim for 45 min. A typical day for me is 2 eggs for breakfast and 1 slice of rye toast, lunch. Chicken salad on spinach, and fish or turkey for dinner. I'm sticking to one cup. I don't have tons of restriction but do notice I stay fuller longer. I go for my first fill on June 11, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I'm just not losing. Any suggestions?
