My Fitness Pal Question

For those of you using the program, is there a way to sort through the food lists? Since anyone can post a food, there are tons of repeats; same thing posted a different way. I can be looking for the MOST simple thing, and have to scroll through tons of whatever to find it. For instance.... plain brown rice. First I get all of the companies that make brown rice; brown rice pilaf, brown rice with this that or the other thing. Would be great to be able to cut to the chase

I try to list the specific brand I'm using then it cuts down on scrolling through the lists. (Ex: Kroger brown rice). I agree, it is a pain sometimes.

Thanks.....I'll try that. If I have a brand, I put it in. But sometimes I buy bulk brown rice, quinoa, etc. from the bins at Whole Foods or other places. Something simple like ground lamb.....I couldn't believe what came up. Something like that is generic, which is where I run into most of the issues (frustrations) mentioned.

One advantage of the smartphone app is that it brings up "your" most common foods first. So once you've selected the right brown rice the next time that brown rice will be the first one listed.

And of course the bar code scanner saves a ton of time.

Wow - I've never used the bar code scanner. I'll have to give it a whirl!

I was gonna suggest the bar code scanner as well. It's awesome!
