We all know premier protein is always the number one choice but honestly, I hate it ? So far I like muscle milk light, which is 20g protein with 100 calories. I also like Atkins dark chocolate and slim fast high protein shakes. What are your favorites?

Tomorrow is my big day, as excited as I am, I'm so nervous that things are not going to go so well. Everything that I can think of negatively has been thought of. I now have doubts and an ongoing headache that's only getting worse. I'm starting to rethink my decision to have this surgery. I rushed this process and now I'm doubting every step I've ever made!

Finally! I'm approved. So now I start the last round of my program in Sept. They sent me all the paperwork on all the stuff I will get and need to do over the next 3 years to remain in the program after surgery and get my copay reimbursed over the 3 year period. For that don't remember I'm in a clinical trial program that requires 3K payment upfront and each year I get 1K back as long as I'm losing or keeping off the weight I have loss off. This way I earn the 3K back. They are checking to see if money is a motivator for people to keep the weight off for 3 years. I'm so grateful I made it through the first phase it was a long 16 weeks and since I didn't lose that much I r…

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum. I am scheduled to have VGS on August 6th. I weigh about twice what I should and have high blood pressure. Insurance approved it and I am good to go--but I can't get over the fear of not waking up from the surgery, and the shame that I let my weight get to the point that I need medical intervention. Has anyone else struggled with these emotions? If so, what can I do to overcome them?

Here to brag a bit and update on progress: Down 50 pounds! VSG 6/1 Pre-op 286 Current 236 Amazing to see the ongoing transformation!... May need to reassess my "target" weight. I picked 210 because that would put me below BMI of 30 (arbitrary, I know!) ans because, well, I couldn't imagine weighing that little, let alone even less!

Hi all, I am 2.5 weeks post-op and today, as per my program I started soft foods. I have a question about my sleeve "rejecting" foods. I know that when I introduce a new food, it is possible my sleeve won't like it and I will vomit. I was wondering, how quickly will this happen after eating the food my sleeve isn't ready to accept? Is it very quick - like within a couple of minutes or does it take a while - like 30 minutes? I also know to NOT drink any water for at least 30 minutes after eating. I have been doing this right from the start of my full fluids (soup, yogourt and oatmeal) diet. Thanks!!

I’ve been on soft foods for almost 4 weeks and I’m soooooooo sick of eating the same things! Today I was craving potstickers after I saw them in the freezer. So I improvised and cooked three of them, cut them open, and ate the insides. It was already soft and really fine so why the hell not?! It was sooooooo good just wanted to share for those who are stuck on phase three and sick of eggs lol

So I just had my surgery on February 27th 2018. During my surgery the surgeon found a hernia and repaired it. Post-surgery I might have had heartburn every once in a blue. Since the surgery I have done nothing but pain swallowing liquids. I can feel like gargling as it goes down then I get a pain after hits the bottom and it shortens my breath. So 2 days later I went back to the hospital complaining of the pains that I was having. They did a CAT Scan and kept me overnight for dehydration. Im gonna keep it real a lot of that pain was because I needed to poop. Now I still get a lot of pain but not as bad. I would say my pain went from a 10 to a 5. Is anyone else going…

Hey guys! It's been a week since my surgery and I'm now experiencing an elevated heartbeat when I stand. Lying down will be normal, getting up it jumps to 113. It's causing me to be seriously lightheaded. Going to speak to my surgeon today but I just wanted to know if anyone else experienced this. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

I am 4 days post op. I keep having a pressure build inside my chest that ultimately leads to a spam type of thing like a hiccup. It's extremely uncomfortable. Anyone else having the same? Also I'm having really bad acid reflux and all I'm drinking is water. Ugh!

I am assuming that everyone at some point experiences stalls in the weight loss process. I'm just wondering for those of you who are post-op when did that first happen? I am 5 months out and it seems like there's been a bit of a slow down. I wasn't expecting that quite so soon. I'm not in this to be thin and don't ever expect to be thin (I ask respectfully that you please don't tell me I can be, because that's not what I'm asking or after here). But I still hoped for more than 5 months of weight loss, so I am hoping this is temporary. I've been sick for a month, so I'm guessing that is probably not helping matters any. I just wonder how common this is.

I am on week four, just about 3 1/2 weeks from my surgery. I know I shouldn't watch the scale everyday, but it's exciting! My weight has gone down every day until this week and it has not budged at all, not even a little bit. I am trying to not get hung up on numbers, but I am concerned something is wrong since it hasn't moved at all. I have struggled a lot this week with my protein and trying to figure out if I have a protein allergy or if I have become lactose intolerant. Has anyone else had an issue with this?

Hi all. I was sleeved 7/10 and am now in the puréed phase. Up until a couple of days ago I relied on premier protein drinks to help achieve my protein intake goals for the day but yesterday all of a sudden I can’t tolerate them. I feel nauscious and like I can’t drink them. Has this happened to anyone else?

Tomorrow I plan on ordering the Pure Protein in a can. I plan on purchasing them from Amazon. I want to buy enough for two per day. It will provide me with a total of 70 mg of protein per day. The cost is 21.00 per per 12 cans. So I am buying 60 cans to last all of August. Should I make this purchase? I have already tried this product in the past and really like it.

This is a repost of one made by Webchickadee. It's so good, I just had to share! Hi guys. I see a lot of you are struggling and worried pre-op about the pre-op diet. It is a HUGE challenge, but for me, it was an important one. Exactly 1 year ago, I was in the middle of a 2 week liquid pre-op diet because my BMI was 55+ and I was self-pay in Mexico. Traveling from Canada meant that a reschedule would be A LOT of extra expense if my surgeon had to stop due to an enlarged liver mid-surgery. I had NO CHOICE but to follow the diet. It also meant that cheating would increase the chance of complications and a longer recovery (or worse), all because I could not fo…

I am just starting the process and haven’t had my consultation yet. But I’m wondering... if I haven’t been able to lose weight all these years with dieting, would I be able to lose with the sleeve? I see so many wonderful transformation photos, but I see them with diet programs too. I’m really nervous about it and would hate doing it if it wouldn’t work for me.

Hi! I had the sleeve on July 16, I've been doing ok with trying to get my shakes in but I'm having a terrible time with my vitamins. I'm not sure if it's the brand or just taking vitamins in general. I got my vitamins from bariatric advantage both the multi and the calcium. Aside from them tasting terrible, I feel like vomiting shortly after taking just 1. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

Oh my goodness, I was sleeved on 7/3 and I really wanted some ice cream....so I got some Halo Top. My mistake was not putting it in a separate dish and also being distracted by tv and email. I ate too much. Now I feel really yucky. Lesson learned. Won't do that again!?

I’m looking for October 2018 sleevers to share stories and best practices. This has been a long journey and I’m so excited to finally get towards the end. I started in the Bariatric program, September 2017. I completed all pre-surgery requirements and was scheduled for surgery 1/26/18. I was going through this journey with my mother in law. She had sleeve surgery 12/14/17 and passed away one week later on 12/21/17. This was a huge setback for me and at this point my husband was no longer supportive of the surgery. This resulted in my surgery being cancelled. It has taken time for my family to put the pieces back together. I have had so many ups and downs over the p…

I had VSG on Dec 26 2017. I was 275 pounds that day. Yesterday I completed my first ever Sprint Triathlon weighing in at symbolic 200. I find it hard to believe ? I finished the 550 yards swim, 13 miles bike and 5k run in 1:27:00. That placed me 33 out of 55 in my age group.
