  1. Hi all!!! I have not been on in a few months. I will be 2 years post op on July 2nd. I was doing well there for a while up until about a month ago. I just seem that I am not motivated any more. I am starting to become addicted to food again and become an emotional eater again. I do not want that. I am trying to get my Water in but not getting as much as I should. I have become lazy. I have gained about 16 lbs. It does not seem like much but my clothes are starting to get tight on my again. Anyone have any suggestions? I belong to Kaiser Permanente now but did not have the surgery with them. Do you think that going to a support group may help me? I will never let my se…

Hello Everyone! I just wanted to share my before and now progress photos and a little bit about my journey so far! I am about 9 weeks post-op. I am 5'3 and my starting weight was 243. I currently weigh 203. I am feeling a lot better already! I no longer have high blood pressure and I'm no longer pre-diabetic. I also have not had any issues with my Acid Reflux since surgery. Everything is much easier to do already! I felt like I was losing weight slowly. Maybe it was because I had a 3 week stall but, I'm averaging more than 4 lbs. a week loss even with that! That's not too shabby! It's true what they say. You can lose inches without losing weight! I have lost over 4 …

I know this may be a stretch and maybe it is too personal for some to share, but I'm curious to know if anyone that has been diagnosed with PCOS has had success with Gastric Sleeve? How much of a difference do you see in your weight / skin / hair (loss and growth)? Mostly interested in the weight but also curious to see if I should expect any other changes? Thanks so much for those willing to share!

2 days on the other side and things are going pretty good. On the day of surgery I had the worst case of dry mouth EVER! I felt good other than that but it might be because I kept up on my pain meds. My 1st full day was good except for lots of gas. It was bad trying to get it out any way I could. Finally felt better when I got up this morning. I've been able to drink lots of water every since coming out of surgery so no problem there. Took my first shower today and took bandages off incisions. I know there is a long way to go but feeling better about it every day. I'm well over 25lbs down since starting liquid pre-diet a week and a half ago. I can see it in my face …

Hello friends, Some of you expressed an interest in boxing. As part of my charity work I am Director of a local nonprofit named The Advocates Boxing Youth Program. I plan to post videos of a basic boxing workout regimen for those of you wanting to learn. The focus will be basic punches, stance, footwork, balance, and combos. But for now please enjoy these videos of Xavier Garcia a 10 year old boxing participant whom I have the pleasure of working with. He is training to compete so the work is a little more intense. I've been HOVERING at 230-233 for quite a while (week and a half). Dying to hit the 220's. I take my weight loss in "decades" - in the 50's, 40's, 30's- because there are so many day to day fluctuations. Well, today I hit 229.9! I was GOING to take a picture of the scale... Until I realized holding the phone to snap it would have added a couple of ounces!!!!

Well, what can I say. I had surgery a year ago on March 17th. I lost around 75 pounds and was very strict until the holiday season began in November. To make a long story short, I have gained 20 lbs. since then, and stopped exercising. I feel completely out of control and feel as if my mind is blocking me from getting back on track. Has anyone else had this experience? I really need some advice from those who have had the same or similar problem. Please help.

  16. This week started off like most others, I just came back to work after almost a week off. I had to go to Iowa and help my dad with some moving related stuff. I was afraid my workout might suffer after taking so many resting days. Well, my leg day workout wasn't inspirational that's for sure. But as I always do on Mondays, I weighed in. 202! Wow, I did not expect that. I had been hovering between 205 and 208 for a while and was totally cool with it. Then it hit me... I still have my shoes on, my phone, and my headphones on. So I shucked them off and weighed again. 199. On. The. Dot. I mean it was a solid 199, not teetering, but a even balanced 199! But wait... th…

The day of my surgery I was 241lbs... Today I weighed in at a ridiculous 220lbs!!! I'm currently wearing a shirt that was previously form fitting/tight, and it's actually fitting the way it's supposed to be! I'm in little to no pain, and I'm tolerating pureed food very well (just started purees today)! I'm feeling truly blessed in my recovery, and I have so many of my family and friends cheering me on and asking for updates! It makes me teary eyed to see how many people care about me and my health! 21. Can't be outdone by Dub , here's my 6 month progress report. I was 276 at my heaviest that I know of anyways. Was having knee problems, back, sleep apnea, borderline hypertension, high cholesterol, and was headed down the diabetes road fast. Most of those are gone, no more sleep apnea or blood pressure issues, knee still has a little bit to go, but it is better. I've gone from a size 44 pants and 2XL shirt to a 34 in pants and large shirt. I've been training for a 5k, which I did this morning, 6 months after my sleeve surgery. Finished just under 30 minutes! So glad I've gone this route of gastric sleeve! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

Finally, I hit a big goal and have lost 100 pounds. It feels so good, but I can't decide what kind of reward I should give myself. I'm sure I will come up with something. Now to go after those last 45 pesky pounds. Next goal is 11 more pounds and I'm officially not obese. I think that will be even bigger accomplishment.

  28. Hi I'm just wondering if anyone ever got a policy that excludes weight loss to cover their surgery after an appeal? I'm so upset was in my 4th month of 6 supervised diets and my fiancé lost his job so there goes my coverage, my job actually excludes weight loss, And I was just wondering if anyone has ever gotten their ins to cover it after and appeal are something even though it was an exclusion, my advocate thinks I should go ahead and finish the six months in case I get coverage again, but I was thinking about finishing it and then appeal through my ins, so was just curious, thanks in advance!

Just wanted to share this- Pre surgery, I cooked up a STORM for my family of 5, which includes two teenaged boys who EAT. And eat. My kids will bypass fast food any day for a home cooked meal. They actually prefer it, along with fruits and veggies. So, being a typical mom, I didn't want them eating garbage while I was recovering. My lovely mom even contributed to my stockpiled freezer. My family had meals for 4 entire weeks. Last week I was moved to a general diet and finally blew through all the cooked frozen meals. Here's the kicker- I have been cooking all of those meals once again, and I'm ok with it. I really didn't think I would be able to, knowing ther…

I had my sleeve surgery on 3/25/15. Going on vacation and having a good time was one of the catalysts for deciding to have surgery. Well I got back from a week's vacation and probably had the best vacation ever. I spent a week at Disney World with one day at Universal. I sat in the middle seat on the airplane and rode ALL of the rides. No problem at all! I felt like a normal sized person. In fact, I was sad to see so many obese people in scooters. I was thinking how are they having a good time? I did not make the best food choices and when I got back was pleased that I hadn't gained any weight. But I was also happy to get back to my "normal" food routine. However,…

Some say I look younger, others say it looks like it could be my sister but definitely not me.. I love it! I feel like a different person too. There are so many things I can do that I never did before (as I sit with my knees to my chest on the couch comfortably while typing this... ummm can you say MAJOR NSV?????)
