My husband tonight found a SD card laying around and had no idea what was on it. So, of course he naturally placed it in the disc drive and "poof" there was a picture of me I hadn't seen, amongst other pictures we forgot. The picture was taken on my granddaughters Kindergarten graduation (2011) in June. I wasn't upset and I didn't cry. I just stared at the picture for a long while, remembering how I felt and how uncomfortable I was that day. The shirt was so pretty and barely fit. My black blazer didn't even close/button. I am sure the jeans were tight. I may have looked happy on the outside, but I know on the inside I was miserable. I looked at how my stomache was …

Something happened yesterday that made me so happy. I take a class in Roller Derby, all the skating, none of the impact. Some girls wear cute derby outfits (shirts, shorts/skirt, socks. I bought some cute knee socks at the beginning of the class, but my calf's were too big for them. Not anymore! They are still tight, but they go all the way up. I was soo happy.

Banded on 11/2/12, down 49lbs total. Lost about 19 pre-op (10 day diet) and 40 since surgery. I had one fill on 12/10 and that was it. I don't think I even really needed it, but it was small, 1cc. I've been to the Dr. twice since then and he has not wanted to give me any more fills, as I'm losing very well without them. I'm fortunate to not have any difficulties thus far. I read about people getting "stuck", not being able to eat certain foods, that's just not me, and I'm so thankful. It's as if I do not have a band at all. I keep my portions right around 1 cup, I eat around 1000-1200 calories per day, some days slightly more. I do not limit myself from sweets or…

The weight loss isn't as much as I thought it would be but it is still freaking awesome! I hope to hit my goal of loosing 50. More by July because I'm a bridesmaid. Also June is my 10 year anniversary. What a great gift for the hubby! Lol! Anyway, exersise has been my downfall just gotta keep motivated.

  17. A year ago today, January 6, 2012, I had Lap Band surgery. I remember being scared out of mind and seriously considering canceling the whole thing. I cannot not tell how glad I am I didn't give into that fear and went through with it. I have lost 175 pounds in the last year! I've lost it by simply monitoring my calorie intake and portion size, making good food choices, walking, and learning to work with my band. I won't lie and say it's easy but it's not hard either. It's work. The biggest adjustment has been getting used to a new, healthy way of thinking and living. I still have a little ways to go before I reach goal, but I'm confident I'll be there by my seco…

I had my surgery August 17, 2011. I started at 217 lbs, tops 2xl and bottoms size 18. 2 months after my surgery I found out I was pregnant. I had lost almost 30 lbs before realizing I was pregnant. At 15 weeks I had all the fluid removed from my band. No complications at all. My band baby was born may 28, 2012. Healthy boy 7 lbs 3 oz. I gained a total of 15 lbs throughout my whole pregnancy. My son is now 9 months old and I am down to 165 lbs. size 9 in jeans and size medium top. Still 25 lbs to goal until my goal weight of 140lbs. No one said it was going to be easy but it is Definately worth it! If I can do it, you can do it! Stay focused and follow the Lapband rules. I…

  23. Hi, I am looking for some hometown pre/post sleevers. I am thinking maybe we can face to face support each other! We can schedule walks together, reciepe sharing, and those who havent told anyone can have that face to face support from people that can understand and that can keep a secret. We can help keep each other on top even if it's just running over with a low carb meal at a time of crises!

I eat anything I want, just eat small quantities like a thin person and I always feel satisfied. I eat healthy but I eat treats too. I drink coffee, wine. I exercise regularly and I weight myself every day. I've been at goal weight since about 11 months out (85 lb loss). I am 59 but feel 35. I'm down to 188 from 297! That's 109lbs in a years time! I am feeling so great! 30 lbs to my goal weight. No complications. I am sensitive to sugar and have had mild dumping here and there. Carbs are the fight now. Keeping them lower than my protein is a daily challenge. But I succeed most days. I have had a few glasses of wine and done good. Sip it slow and I get a lil buzz for a short time, then it's gone. I just need to get to the exercise and tone up. That's my next challenge. Happy Friday everyone!!

I have had the lap band done for 3 years now. I had lost close to 70 lbs when i started having issues with night cough and reflux. They removed half of my fluid and I. 3 months time I gained back all of the weight even while doing what I thought was the correct ways. I now am having it filled again, I now go to the gym 6 days a week and am on a mission to drop it back off as fast as possible. However I'm so frustrated, I felt so good , so much better, and much better self esteem , now I just feel almost like giving up. I see so many success and wonder why not me !

Well, I spent last weekend trimming trees in my yard. I never thought that I'd be climbing trees again at 40 years old, but there I was 40 feet in the air with a chainsaw topping trees. Unfortunately I didn't think of it being something to be excited about or proud of till I was already back on the ground, so I didn't get any pictures, but I can honestly say I would have never even attempted it 100lbs ago. This surgery is finding new ways to pay for itself. I figure I saved almost $3k in arborist fees this weekend. Got some great exercise too. It's amazing the muscles I forgot I had. I'm remembering them now though.

I was shopping in Traders Joe's right after that victory and decided to buy my husband a bottle of wine. I was asked for my ID at the register - I will be sixty on my next birthday!! In just 9 months!! I don't even care if they ask everyone for an ID - I just know it made me feel fabulous. I am so, so very excited I have lost 52 pounds as of today. I had my surgery 10/11/12 SW 278 and today 226. I have never in my life lost 50 pounds so this is monumental for me. My husband bought me a cool gadget for my scrapbooking, the Silhouette Cameo, to commemorate the 50 pound loss. At 75 pounds I am getting a tattoo! And at 100 pounds a shopping spree. I feel like I can do anything now! Every day I feel more alive and confident and energetic. I am so blessed. I am so glad that I didn't let anyone else or me talk myself out of getting the sleeve. It was totally worth it!

Has been 3 months from 10/23/12, my day of surgery, seems like a life time ago. Preop: 220. Day of surgery: 202. Today: 171. That's 49 pounds gone so far. Overall feeling good, sometimes a bit discomfort when I eat but just for a few seconds then it passes. Wish I could do better with the protein intake and tracking my food but I'm ok. The weight is coming off slow these last few weeks, but still it's going down so I'm happy. Good luck to all of us in this journey....
