So I am down 20 lbs in a week and 2 days!!!! Yey I'm so excited. However i need advice men and women point of views. Ok so there is a guy at my job, he is prn/on call. He may work once every 5 months or so I rarely see him. Now I think I may have a crush on him just a little, but dunno how to approach him or make it noticeable. He doesn't work my job until may 21..... (I know I'm a little stalkerish to even know that) By that time I should be down more and hopefully he will say something. I was thinking about buying a cute little outfit for that day. Lol Ughh wats a girl to do? HELP!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone! My name is Morgan, I currently weigh 339lbs and started my weight loss journey back in January of this year. To be honest its been a lifetime journey.... I've always been the chubby friend in the group...the fat friend with the bubbly personality trying to cover up her lack of self worth. I lost 60 pounds back in 2008 and was below 300lbs. I, by some miracle, became pregnant. Unfortunately it was short lived and my first thing to turn to was food. I gained back the 60, plus another 30 since then. Instead of focusing on my health all I wanted was to get pregnant. I was diagnosed with PCOS back in 2004 and thought that all I would have to do would b…

**Please excuse my unabashed excitement** I am thrilled to say that I have been approved by insurance for my new Sleevie Wonder! They approved it in 5 business days and I got scheduled so fast! I went today for my final weigh-in & pre-op prep class and I am -check it out- FOUR (4) OUNCES BELOW MY PRE-SURGERY GOAL WEIGHT!! LOL, glad I skipped the Fudgesicle after dinner last night!! I never thought 4 oz would matter this freakin much! I have 4 weeks to keep on losing. Dr. E only requires 2 days of clear liquids prior to surgery, but I might try to start full liquids one week out. Maybe shrink my liver a little more? I don't see how it could hurt. Then again…

Hi! My name is Casie and I'm 31 years old, married for 7.5yrs with 3 beautiful daughters ages 5, 2, & 2. I started my journey back in January by doing lots and lots of research. I finally made an appointment without discussing it with my husband and made the decision to move forward. My insurance required a 3 month supervised diet and my surgeons group also had a plethora of things that needed to be done before surgery could be scheduled. I found out that I have sleep apnea, which I wasn't expecting but all the more reason to keep pushing through. My journey is really just beginning as I am now 4 days post op. But I have no regrets. I can't wait to see how the next 6 …

I have a sugery date of may 14th and I'm undecided if I should do the sleeve or the bypass. I am on the lower bmi and i have read so many conflicting stories about whether or not the sleeve has success with people with lower bmi (30-40). anyone have advice, I like sweets and thought the bypass was a good way to avoid them, but my doc says the sleeve is a safer surgery.

Hi Everyone. My name is Cindy and I am waiting for my primary insurance to send their denial letter so my surgery can be scheduled. My primary insurance will not pay, but my secondary insurance will pay. Plus secondary insurance does not do pre-authorization letters. So, as soon as the denial letter is received from the primary insurance we can schedule my surgery. My surgeon said it will most likely be mid-May. I have thought of myself as being overweight most of my life. Looking back on it, I was a twig when I graduated from high school. It's just that those who were around me were so petite. I had one successful pregnancy 30 years ago and was never able to lo…

I hope I made sense since writing this half asleep. :-) hope everyone has a blessed!

The incisions are healing well and I spoke with the nurse about my eating habits when she made the post-op call and she assured me that everything is okay. I think mentally I feel like I should be eating much more than what I am currently eating now. The only true pain I've felt is from the port site and gas pains in my shoulder area. Hello everyone! What a wonderful site! My name is Kristi and I am currently in the spiral of waiting for the office to submit to insurance. I started this journey last September. I had to do 6 months of medically supervised weight loss, multiple doctor visits, psych eval, councelling, labs, EGD, xray, EKG, etc. In addition to surgical clearance from PCP and GI doc. All of these steps were completed nearly 6 weeks ago and Surgery office has had all my records for the last 4 weeks. I have called, emailed multiple times with no response until last week when I was told to "be a little more patient", that my file was in a pile of 30 charts waiting to be reviewed by offic…

A little over a mile. It went well, but I did get light headed on the way back and could feel my heart beat in my throat, which I had never felt before. So, that was odd, but I made it and it felt good about 5 minutes after. I live in Lake Tahoe and it's absolutely gorgeous today. Perfect day for my first big walk. My starting weight was 338. I am 28 pounds down from my pre op visit and 11 down since surgery. I started my mushy stage today. Poached egg and grits for breakfast. Was wo…

  29. I started this journey a little over a year ago. I went down to Ft. Wayne, Indiana to sit in a seminar about weight loss surgery. I had been to two or three seminars in the past but my insurance never covered the surgery. I had checked and found that my new insurance would cover it and that the closest hospital was in Ft. Wayne. While I was there I found out about a new operation they were offering called the Sleeve Gastrectomy. Once I had heard about it, I knew it was the one for me. No band that can slip and no rerouting of the intestines, sign me up. I checked into the insurance end a little further. I needed six months of medically managed weight loss with my Doctor b…

I found out that they did not send the request over to the Hospital on time and could not get the 25th confirmed! I was already 4 days into my pre-op diet and almost adjusted to it. Now I have to stop and restart on the 25th. The new surgery date is May 9th! Everything happens for reason but still I think I have the right to be upset! GRRR!!

It seems like I am always looking for the Stall Whisperer. This last stall was seven weeks, for crying out loud! So......I took my Water from 64 up to 80 ounces, and the Bariatric Physician changed my calories from 800 down to 600 (which is where I was in my pre-op phase). Stall broken and I have lost three pounds in the last week. Man...we knew this was going to be work. Also, I am right on my four month mark, and the doc reminded me that it is my turn for the hair to start falling out. She STRONGLY EMPHASIZED to be dead-on serious about getting my Proteins and fluids in.

Well, I was sleeved February of 2013 and have lost half of my body weight since! 152 lbs to be exact. Now I'm faced with the loose saggy skin on my stomach! I've worked so hard to lose the weight and now I have this issue. It's not like I haven't been working out because since day 1 I have committed myself to the gym! Guess there's nothing you can do about the skin. I was wondering if anyone (I live in NJ) has gotten skin surgery covered under insurance? I actually have a different insurance company sines the surgery. I have QualCare. If anyone knows anything I would greatly appreciate it!!
