Smells

Hi All,

2.5 weeks out RNY and SMELLS are making me so nauseas. Did this happen to anyone else? I have been nauseated for the last week and my dr. put me back on Stage 1. The smell of most foods, flowers (anything pungent) is making me crazy.

I've also noticed that a few smells can make me a bit queasy. I'm only five weeks post-op so am hoping this goes away soon. Certain foods (mainly Protein drinks) tend to make me more queasy than smells do, though. Good luck; I hope this symptom goes away soon.

Yes. I hope it goes away. Im 4 weeks post op and the smells still bother me. I hope it goes away soon so I can have more of a variety of food.

It does go away for the most part. I only have it occasionally happen to me now. It took about 3-4 months for it to go away after surgery though.

Along with smells you will find that things also taste different. Foods you used to hate you may actually crave and love them.

So glad you posted this. In only four days out and all smells make me nauseous especially food!!! This nausea only lasts for a few minutes but it's really bad. Glad to know its normal and will eventually go away. Thanks for posting this!!!
