Water intake

I was sleeved on march 24th. I am now on puréed stage And I go for my 3 week post op appointment in the morning. I'm just wondering if anyone else out there like me feels like they are insanely thirsty? I can literally drink a whole bottle of water 16.9oz in 30 minutes maybe less. I know they say to drink drink drink but is this normal?? I definitely get my water intake daily, but so far today I've only had one protein shake and I finished that within 20 minutes... Just kinda concerned!

Well that does sound a bit fast drinking for only being 3 weeks post. It would take me at least an hour or more to finish a 16 Oz bottle of Water right out of surgery. Protein shakes were worse since they were so thick.

Maybe just slow it down a bit. Just because you can drink that fast doesn't mean you should. Be careful and if you are not feeling good or are especially worried then I suggest contacting your medical professionals.

Crystal light has become my best friend. I drink it constantly. I was also reading in my book how it says it should take 30-45 minutes to eat one meal, which is absolutely not the case for me. I mean it doesn't take that long to eat 1.0 ounce. If it did it would be cold and nasty and I couldn't eat it. I'm not having any problems though. It goes down fine and doesn't hurt me and I don't vomit. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Man you're lucky. I'm 3 months post op and I still can't get in my 64 ounces a day.

Sorry it took so long for a reply! I went on vacation after my 3 week checkup! Tomorrow makes a month sleeved for me. I asked my doctor if there was such a thing as "drinking to much water" and he laughed and said he would never tell me something that wasn't true and told me to drink as much as I wanted. I have absolutely no problem hitting my goal of water unless I make it a problem and just don't drink enough that day lol
