I just started eating these for lunch (which I used to pre-surgery and they never filled me up...now it takes all i can do to get a whole one down...which I L.O.V.E.!!) But this one is so freakin good its like a religious experience, lol. Chili Lime Chicken....and the nutrition is decent. 17g of protein, 240 calories, 770 potassium, 550 for sodium. It does have 37 carbs (or something around there) but WOW....its awesome!! Just had to share the news

I am able to eat 1/2 cup of protein per sitting and a bite or two of veggies. I see people on here saying how they are only able to take a bite or two of food etc. How much could you consume at about two months out. I'm worried I am able to eat too much!!!

I'm 1 month post-op, and as I travel the road towards "regular food", I'm thinking more and more about salads. My NUT told me this would be one of the very last foods added back to my food inventory. When could you eat salads, at what point in your progress could you handle them, what kinds of issues did you have, if any? Any feedback is appreciated.

At 18 months out and 125 pounds lost, one would think I would know the answer to this but apparently I have forgotten. Can anyone help me? Right now it seems as though nothing I eat gives me total satisfaction or keeps me full for very long. I may eat something that has me feeling uncomfortably full after only 2 ounces worth, but it doesn't last, and an hour later I'm capable of eating more. Now, I know that some of it is head hunger and that is a different battle/aspect of the process, but can anyone tell me/remind me of certain foods that may provide me with a long lasting feeling of fullness and satisfaction? I'm already making sure to not eat and drink at the sa…

So hopefully this isn't bad. I'm Mexican American and during the summer months I make "aguas frescas." they are natural ripen fruit blended with water a little ice and sugar, I used Splenda. I made one today of watermelon/sandia. I know they say not to eat watermelon but I thought this was a good way to higher my fluid intake.

I am two weeks out from surgery and my stomach is acting very strangely. In the morning, I get up and make a scrambled egg with cheese and can't get in the last bite or two so I stop. However, tonight, I cut up half a chicken breast and chewed each tiny piece into little bits before swallowing. It took me 20 or 25 minutes to eat it, but when I was done I didn't feel full. I wasn't hungry, but I wasn't full either. Half a chicken breast seems like a lot two weeks out. How much were you eating two weeks out? I have been very careful not to stretch my stomach and am following the NUT diet religiously. I just don't know if that is normal or not.

Does anyone else have a problem eating chicken? I can only eat the chicken that they say is bad like breaded chicken! But if I eat breaded chicken it is always baked and not fried! I figure if that is gonna help me get in protein then it's better than no chicken at all! I can however eat every other kind of meat!

I don't know about you guys, but I eat so much soup I get tired of it, especially in the first few weeks after surgery. And Passover just happened and I had the brilliant brainstorm....matzah balls forever. In ALL KINDS OF SOUP. They add a little heft, and while yes, they have carbs, you can also add protein powder, etc. And they're yummy and comforting without being greasy or gooey or too starchy. So, without further ado: Year-Round Matzah Balls! http://savorysweetie.com/year-round-matzah-balls/ they make me less tired of soup. I even tried them in tomato soup yesterday, and it was DELICIOUS.

I've been thinking about life after sleeve, mostly how and what I will be eating since I've been starving on my preop diet! I previously enjoyed regular mayo, full fat salad dressing, butter, etc... My question is since I'll be eating so much less, shouldn't I really enjoy what I eat? Do I need to try to replace what I used to love for all low fat and fat free choices? Or do a lot of you indulge in reg mayo and full fat dressings on your salads because they are in so much smaller quantities? I know using low fat/FF would help lose faster, but how about life ever after for those who have reached goal or are below goal? Please give me your opinions.

So today I started on soft Protein. About an hour ago I had the most delicious, delightful, wonderful, amazing deviled egg. I got super duper full after eating it and now I'm nauseous. WTF Sleeve? Please tell me this is normal at 1 week post op. Please don't tell me that delicious, delightful, wonderful, amazing deviled egg did it. ALSO I am down a total of 17 lbs! 5 pre-op and 12 post-op.

I am 4 days post op and was doing great with the liquids and proteins. Yesterday I added the chewable Celebrate multi, calcium, and iron and now my stomach hurts. I spread them out over the day as prescribed but have bloating and cannot pass this gas to help. I'm up walking every hour to try to get past this but I'm worried this is the way it will be with these chewables. Also the iron ones make me feel like i'm still sucking on an old penny and it has been hours since I had it. I don't remember the samples beting this icky think they make better ones for the samples?

I'm a month out from surgery and wanted to get feedback on what online tracking tools folks like. I see references to Myfitnesspal, but are there others that work well. I don't want anything too complex and I don't use a smart phone, so no need for apps. I'm looking for the basic counter mainly for Protein and carbs. Thanks for your suggestions. Meredith

I have been taking green tea extract in the morning. My way is not for the weak of stomach. I put 1/2 teaspoon in a small cup, run some hot Water in it, put in some Splenda, stir, and slug her down. This has got to be the vilest most diabolical liquid ever to test the gag response. Why don't I take capsules? I think this extract powder, which I get from 1Fast400, is more potent at 50% EGCG. I tried a capsule machine but it was a supreme hassle to me. So I toughened up. Green tea has benefits as talked about by the 3 fat chicks on a diet website: Breakfast. No use prolonging the agony.

I think that whey protein powder and whey shots are giving me pimples. I already can't eat cheese because of the horrible breakouts I get, and beef too, so this is having an impact on my protein intake. Has anyone else noticed this? Ideas, suggestions?

So, when are you grazing vs. eating several small meals? I have tea, then a half hour later I eat breakfast, then 2 hours later I drink half a protein shake, then a half hour later have more tea, then an hour later the rest of the shake, then more tea, then lunch about 3 hours after I had breakfast, a snack about 3 hours after lunch, then dinner approx. 4 hours after snack. Is that grazing? Sometimes there is a bedtime snack 2 hours after dinner that helps put me to sleep (sf chocolate pudding cup, the remaining bites of dinner).

Hi, my name is Tracy & I'm addicted to Diet Pepsi. I have been cutting back for 5 months and now have been soda free for 7 days! The headaches were rough. I'm pre op waiting for insurance approval with tentative surgery date either May 1st or the 15th. Just waiting for that positive phone call to come. So was wondering about Talking Rain sparkling water. Zero calories, no carbs, but it is sparkling so it's carbonated. What about letting it go flat a bit before drinking. Is that okay after surgery? What about now during preop. Doc wants me off soda, is this sparkling naturally flavored water a no no too? Thanks in advance for your feed back.

I just wanted to share a recipie with you all that I tried today and I LOVED...and it has Protein. I had my surgery six days ago, and I found I have become very sensitive to protein. I couldn't seem to get any of it in. So, today I tried something new. I also found it's a great way to hide my meds (and I have a lot of them). Below is the reciepie. Enjoy. 1/2 cup frozen blueberries 1/2 cup plain greek yogart 1 cup vanilla Silk (soy milk) 4-5 ice cubes Splenda to taste (I used 2 packets) This made about 16oz and I sipped on all day. The total protien for the whole thing is 18 grams of protein....plus it's considered liquids so you get two in one. If anyone…

Hello VST. First off, I have to admit to not being a very good sleever food-wise this week. I've been getting enough fluids in, working out, etc, just didn't eat as well as I should the past few days. That being said, it seems my body does NOT like it when I low-carb it. I've had two mini-stalls the past six weeks, bouncing back between the same two to three pounds for a few weeks. Well, in the past week, after not really paying attention to how much carbs I put in, I've lost four pounds! I've noticed when I'm really strict with myself and drink at least one protein shake a day, my body just doesn't respond. I also feel very lightheaded and weak if I low-carb it. Now, t…

I just discovered bumble bee sensations flavored tuna. Perfect size for our new lil tummies! Comes with 6 crackers although I did not eat those. At 110 calories and 18 grams of protien it makes a great lunch or dinner. Easy to pack and needs no refrigeration. Enjoy and don't forget to eat SLOW.

I am a little over a month March 12th was my surgery. Some days I feel a fullness and others... nothing. I often wonder if my sleeve is even small enough, seriously. One day I will eat a little and think OHHHH boy thats enough and other meals, I eat 3 oz (chicken salad for example) and feel like I could eat more. I also find it odd that if I make a protein smoothie (crushed with ice) I dont really feel it hit my empty stomach like I used to... I am wondering when that feeling will come back if ever... and if it will then maybe I will feel what the heck is going on in there as far as food goes. I dont want to stretch things but I also wonder if I am good a reading wha…

I am interested in becoming a vegetarian and if I can, a vegan. Realistically now is not the time to do this because I need to get the protein in, but I wondered if anyone has become a vegetarian or vegan a year or so after surgery... after the bulk of the weight was lost. Any feedback would be great

4 weeks out... Eating out for 1st time... And since I live in South Texas... At a Mexican restaurant! I can't believe how little I ate compared with what I ate pre-surgery... I found cilantro chicken skewers on the menu, and could only eat about 2 pieces of chicken off 1 skewer (2oz), and am so full! I did eat some salsa (maybe a tablespoon)... But It feels so good to eat normalish food, and feel such power over the food!! I am down 34 pound overall since pre-surg 2 week diet, and it feels great!

Anyone know? I REALLY like the Pure unflavored Protein powder (and by really like, I mean it doesn't make me gag), and I've been out for 4 days now. Has anyone called? I haven't yet. You'd think they would realize that they're losing sales like crazy while they have no Protein Powder in stock.

I am 2 weeks post-op today (yayyy), and I tried some Greek yogurt for the first time today - OIKOS Organic Greek yogurt (vanilla). I have to say that it's about the worst tasting yogurt I've ever had! I know that it's a healthier option for me (15g of protein in one serving), so I'm wondering which one is your favorite? Or if you have any suggestions on how I can improve the flavor.

I've always had a Water bottle or cup with a straw so I need to get something I can have with me after surgery that doesn't have a straw. I've heard the straw is a bad idea because it allow one to swallow air. Do you think the water bottles with the built in straw would work or would they too allow me to suck in air? See an example of what I'm talking about here: http://www.sportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11367011&cp=2291414.2291416&view=all&parentPage=family Thanks for any words of advice.

I am two weeks post-op. Doc said 2 weeks of full solids now too weeks of mush/puree. I don't know the difference between mush and soft foods. I have visitors right now so we've been out all day long and have eaten at a few restaurants. I had chicken lettuce wraps but only ate the chicken and tofu part which is cut up super small. I had some baked beans, tuna, salmon, scrambled eggs, and mashed potatoes. This has been the past 4 days. I feel fine, just tired. Everything went down and I stopped when I burped and/or hiccuped. Is my eating okay or am I doing something wrong?

Tomorrow I will be one week post-op and im still on clear liquids. Well, I'm a huge pickle&pickle juice fan. So I was wondering if I had a Lil pickle juice if that be bad or would it be ok since its a clear liquid? I don't want to drink any if it would be bad for my sleeve and it would only be a small amount to satisfy my craving. Anyone know about this?

Am worried that maybe I am not doing things correctly. Maybe I am taking in too much too fast. When I drink water I am able to take a fairly normal sip of water and then another right after that. I try to keep that up as frequently as possible. Also, with thickened soups, such as lentil, if I am eating about 4 oz in a time span of about 15 minutes, is this too much too fat? I don't want to stretch my sleeve out.

I was not in a stall, but almost to my goal, so I thought maybe I could speed things up a bit. Yesterday I woke up and was not hungry at all. So I had a Muscle Milk Light Caffe Latte for breakfast. Then for a snack I had a small can of V8 juice. Then at lunchtime I still wasn't hungry so I had a Pure Protein Chocolate drink. never was hungry even for an afternoon snack. About 4:00 I thought I should probably eat something even though still not hungry. Made myself a salad with chopped romaine and RTE cut up chicken breast from Costco. Never hungry the rest of the night. I drink MIO flavored water all day and probably take in about a gallon a day. This morning I a…
