How long does the stall last after you add weight training? I added it to my regimen on 5/2 and have been at a stall since then. I know that's normal because I am building muscle but it's still frustrating. I can feel slight changes in the way my clothes are fitting so I know the inches are going but when will that number move? My plan was to hide the scale for 30 days because I knew this would happen but I thought I could show restraint and not hope on. Boy was I wrong and now that I know I am at a stall I am obsessed. and I am getting plently of Proteins and Water.....80-130g of Protein (80-90g a day is average, that's supplementing with shakes and shots) and 80-100g…

I suffer from severe Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue syndrome and most days it's everything I can do to get out of bed. There are days that I literally slide out of bed and crawl to the bathroom because I hurt too bad to walk. What happens when you can't exercise? I know it will slow weight loss and that's fine with me, I just kinda want to know what to expect aside from flabby butt cheeks and wobbly arms LOL Does anyone know of exercises to do from bed besides leg lifts? I really like that they are only 20 min workouts and once you get started they keep you motivated and before you know it i was done with my workout!!!! If anyone has the dvd's please let me know what you think, or if we can create a challenge for ourselves!!! As you my know i am only 9 lbs away from my dr's goal, and these are the hardest lbs to get off. So if there is any one who is doing any excercise challenges please let me know also. Let me know!

So I've been wondering if after I get Lap Band, will I be weak and shaky from eating so little? I'm use to eating quite a bit and whenever I skip meals or eat very little I get jittery and feel so lethargic. Has this happened to anyone after getting your lap band? Will my body just adjust to less food after awhile? Also, I plan to hit the gym and it just seems like I may not have very much energy...not that I have a lot now...Just wondering what I should expect!

Suggestions needed.............. I have limited time each day (go figure right? like everyone else?????) My questions are: 1) Can you break your workout apart -- for example do 30 minutes of cardio (walking, etc....) in the AM then do weight lifting/toning in the PM (every other day)? 2) If I find time to do both - what do you start with - for example walking then weights or weights then walking? I've been attempting to exercise 6-7 days a week and just recently added the strength training to my workout so there is where the confusion set in. Thanks for all the answers!!

Hi fellow banders, I'm wondering if anyone has any good remedies for alleviating fluid on the knees. I was on naproxen prior to surgery which helped alot but since surgery I'm not able to be on it any longer. I've tried Tylenol with no luck. I've been trying to research medicines that are NON NSAIDS but are not having any luck. I'm on a glucosamine/chondrotin supplement to keep them moving more freely but it doesn't help with the swelling. This is really hindering the amount I can excersise because it becomes to painful. I've had a lateral release in both knees a few years ago but now without the naproxen it's becoming an issue again. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi everyone - this is my first time posting on here and I love reading some of your comments. I was banded on 3/2 of this year.. just hit the 3 week mark and I'm down 23 lbs so far.. from what my surgeon told me my band is not filled at all until my first fill (which happens to be next week). I've kind of hit a plateau with weight loss. I've stayed the same weight now for about a week. My surgeon's diet had me start eating solid foods at the beginning of week 3. I've been exercising and sticking with the game plan. Has anyone else had this "plateau" at the start? I might be slightly crazy with losing a lot of weight to start but I really am putting forward a lot of ef…

I have to share this!! I am sooo proud of myself... I jogged in public for the first time in 22 years today! I was walking the dog on my own, normally me and hubby do it, we live in a small village and worked out an nice route around the lanes that at a steady pace takes us about an hour. I have been doing this 4-5 times a week for the last month plus and thoroughly enjoy it. We have often said, this would make a good route to jog along... then I had a secret 'yeah, righto' chuckle! So, tonight me and the dog are going at a fairly brisk pace ... we are in the lane section and I just thought 'sod it'! I started jogging!!! Went so far, then had a little walk and r…

I don't know why it's taken me so long to realize I could ask YOU all about my shoe options... anywho... I am 5'8", 350 and a SUPINATOR (rolls to the outside of feet midstride), and I am having a hard time finding a good running shoe. I usually stick with Brooks, and have been really happy with them. But I thought I'd pose the question and see what you all are wearing. Most folks are Pronators (rolls to the inside of feet midstride), and heavy pronators are usually easier to fit than supinators, because while it is recommended that supinators wear cushioned shoes, cushioned aren't best for super-overweight folks (from what runner's world says). Any suggestions are…

I use lapband.com and can't find a help button. Is anyone here using that website for their measurement tracking? I did my measurements right before surgery, entered them on that site, but didn't write them down in a notebook. Now it appears there has been too much time passed and I can't see back farther than three months! Has anyone else found how to see back to day one? The weight loss goes all the way back, so I didn't think the measurements wouldn't. I could have a fit! I can't remember my original measurements, which is why I logged them at the website. Does anyone know if there is help available from that site? I have called the 800 number, but they said t…

During the day on my breaks from work (20 mins) I walk at a fast pace the walk also includes inclines. When I get off work I got to the gym and work out for about 35 minutes. When I walk during the day I am usually out of breath and sweating. At the gym I am usually on the eliptical. Is this enough exercise? or should I do more? I follow this routine about 5x's a day.

My gym is starting a biggest loser compitition and at that time I will be 4 weeks post op. It involves a personal trainer for 10 weeks (2 days a week). Right now I walk 30 mins a day and would love to add more. I plan on asking my doctor when I will be able to do something like this, but I wondered when all of you started lifting weights? Thank you for any input!

Hi guys! This has probably been asked already but I just can't get a clear enough answer. I am a bit thick sometimes! Could you let me know how much you workout. I workout about half an hour 3/4 times a week. I find it hard to go more as I am a student midwife and doing 3/4 12-hour shifts a week and a mummy to a lil boy, I either don't have time, need to write an essay or am just too tired! Please reply x

``Washing powder Nirma, Washing powder Nirma,'' If you are a person in your late 20s, you might have grown up listening to this very popular commercial. You can, most probably, still visualise the girl spinning around and then turning into a picture on a packet of Nirma. Such commercials and jingles have the power to linger in your mind even after 20 years. India has produced a large number of good ad film makers who have proved their mettle through the creative pieces which arrested the attention of viewers. Let us look into some more commercials which created an impact. The commercial created a few years back for a mobile company can be included in that long li…

I hope this helps you! 1.Self Magazine online has some free exercise vidoes: http://www.self.com/ 2. This website has some free yoga vidoes, and other types of exercise videos. You must register, but you will have access to some vidoes. See: http://www.slimtree.com/ 3. This website will give you one free exercise video if you 'like' them on Facebook. They have dance exercise videos: http://www.workoutsondemand.com/ 4. This website has some videos as well as some exercise regimens that you can print out: http://www.workoutz.com/ …

A friend was just banded and told by her Dr that she can do any type of exercises as long as it doesn't involve sit ups, crunches etc. My Dr. hasn't told me anything about this and I have started to do serious ab workouts 3 x a week. It doesn't hurt and I'm actually enjoying them What has your Dr. told you? Am I doing damage? PS: My band has become tighter since starting my exercise classes, has this happened to anyone else?

I'm now over 5 months and just started walking. I know this is not good and my doctor was not happy about it. I have a lot of excuses why I haven't exercised, I live in NY and its cold, I work full time and go to school full time plus my family but I'm only hurting myself. Anyways this week I made up my mind and started walking but now I have bad knee pain with just a few days of walking. Do you just deal with the pain, will I mess up my knee? I still have about 65 pounds to lose on my 5 2 body. any advice? thanks janine

Well after loosing 107 pounds since last Thanksgiving I have stalled for 8 days at 267-268 pounds. I've carefully counted my intake and seem to be at about 1000-1100 calories. About 70 grams of Protein too. A bit high in carbs at 100 or so. Being 6' tall and male that is a significant caloric shortfall and yet the scale bounces up and down between the 2 poundages. Our community has a wonderful senior wellness center that I was recently able to join since turning 50. They have a lap pool, therapy pool, indoor AND outdoor track, all kinds of exercise equipment. I've been swimming 3 days a week for an hour and then walking and doing light exercise with a few of the …

I've been thinking of picking this up after surgery. I've tried running here/there over the years but normally end up spraining an ankle doing some other random, mundane activity and then I just don't go back out. But, I always like the "idea" of running...make sense? Anyway...I like what I've come across about this so far. Anyone here do it?

I have fallen DEEP off of the boat and I am trying to get back on track. I lost 30lb almost immediately after my surgery and then found all of the tricks and felt like a huge failure so with my husbands support, I am trying to get back on. I recently purchased the Xbox 360 Kinect and the Biggest Loser game and I LOVE it. It is not fun at all LoL. It kicked my butt but it also kicked 7lbs off of me already. I was wondering if anyone else has any of the games and let me know what you think. I love dancing and there are just TOO many games out there to decide.

I think this is going to be a great addition to my elliptical routine. Does anyone else have one and what exercise games are you using? I was thinking about the Zumba one?

I have been using the body bugg for 1 month. I love the information that it gives me but here is the problem. My average calorie deficit a day is 800-1100 calories and I have not lost any weight. I take in about 1100-1300 calories a day. I usually burn about 2100 callories per day without exercise. 2400 with exercise. I heard that if you are closer to your goal you can have a large calorie deficit. Is that true. I weigh 168 and my goal is 145. please help.

Okay, I love my sleeve. I'm already 1/2 way to my goal after only 7 weeks post op. I work out 7 days a week. I do 20-30 minutes on the treadmill, and 30-45 at home, either on my gazelle or I do either Tae Bo, 30 Day Shred, or 6 Week Abs 3 days a week. Whatever I'm doing, I'm mixing it up and getting a great workout in. Now, I'm losing about 2-3 pounds per week. My body is getting smaller, I can tell because my scale is moving and my clothes fit differently. Here's where the frustration comes in... I've lost 56 pounds, yet I'm still in a size 18. My waist is much smaller, as are my thighs. My stomach and hips, however, are smaller, but are still the largest part o…

Hi all I am due to have my surgery on April 20th. I have been working out for some time now and am really worried about how long I have to wait before I can get back to the gym. I run, swim, work with a trainer for building muscle, and another trainer for boxing...though just started the boxing. Pre-weight gain I was very athletic an my body seems to be "remembering." I'm building muscle fast and slowly watching my running endurance improve. I work out 5-6 days a week and am really REALLY scared about losing everything I've worked to build up to now. I have a LONG way to go and I'd rather not backslide. NOT having the surgery is not an option for me either. I'm DONE…
