Healthy Snack ideas.....
I to struggle with snacking at night. It has been my biggest challenge. The thing I have tried is to do something to keep my hands. Take up crocheting, needle work, play a card game. I have even purchased a small electronic casino game just to keep my hands busy. It does seem to help.

I've Lost 157 Pounds After Lap Band Surgery!!!!! Yay!
Thank you for posting. I have just started my journey but I have about the same amount of weight to loose. It is very helpful and motivating to be able to see someone that has already achieved it. You look amazing.

Cost of Lap Band out of pocket
That is what I paid for my lapband. My fills and doctor visits were free for the first 90 days and then my fills are $50.00

How is Everybody Doing? What's New?
Hello everyone, I to have been struggling a little. I went for my 2nd fill and got to tight. It was awful. All I did was throw up for 2 weeks straight. I kept thinking it would get better but it didn't. I finally went back to the doctor this week and he took out .5cc's. Now I think I am to loose. I am back to being able to eat just about anything. It is weird how just a little amount can make such a difference. It seems like the most frustrating part of this whole process is finding the right amount for your fill. By nature I am not a patient person so this is driving me crazy. I want to get to the perfect spot NOW so that I can start getting this weight off. I have lost almost 50lbs so far. My main motivation for getting the lap band (self-pay) is because I am 42 years old and a little over a year ago I had a massive heart attack. (That was a surprise) It scares me that if I do not get this weight off and get healthy that I am going to have another one. Each day is definetly a new adventure. This website is definetly a huge help. It is so nice to talk to other people that are going through the same thing. Are any of you struggling getting your meds down? I have to take 8 pills a day which is pratically a meal.

How long does it take you to eat? And how much do you eat?
I just got my 2nd fill and I am struggling with getting stuck alot. I think I am eating slow and chewing really well but now I question myself. I was just curious how long it takes all of you to eat a meal or even a 4 ounce piece of meat. Thanks

Good Restriction but now feeling weak & tired alot
I just got my second fill and now have good restriction, however I have noticed that I am weak and tired alot of the time. Has anyone else experienced this. I am wondering if this has to do with the lack of food in comparison to what I use to eat I hear alot of people talk about protein shakes but have not yet tried any. There seems to be so many on the market and I don't want to spend the money on them and then not like them. Alot of people I have talked to say they are grainy and taste like crap. Does anyone have any suggestions?

emotional rollercoaster
I too went through the emotional woes. Be patient with yourself. You will soon feel like you are in control again. It is a process of relearning the food process. Often times I think we start to grieve the loss of our food addiction. Our heads are still addicted but our body no longer allows us to induldge. It does get better.

Any february bandsters out there?
Hi Everyone, I was banded on February 17th in Tampa FL and am currently down 40lbs. Had my second fill this Monday and now have 4.5cc's in a 10cc band. I am definetly feeling restricted now. When I drink I can definetely feel the liquid going down. Are any of you experiencing this. It doesn't really hurt it just feels really really weird and I can only sip on liquids now.

Am I to tight?? HELP
I got my second fill on Monday of this week and I would say that I now have restriction. My questions is that everytime I take a small drink I can feel the liquid going down. I am now not drinking as much liquid as I was previously because I can only take small sips. I just started on mushy food last night and nothing has gotten stuck, but I definetly have to eat very very slow and I can feel everything going down. I would not say it is necessarily painful but it does feel weird. Is this something that I just have to learn to live with??
