Ab workouts?

Recommended Posts

A friend was just banded and told by her Dr that she can do any type of exercises as long as it doesn't involve sit ups, crunches etc.

My Dr. hasn't told me anything about this and I have started to do serious ab workouts 3 x a week. It doesn't hurt and I'm actually enjoying them laugh.gif

What has your Dr. told you? Am I doing damage?

PS: My band has become tighter since starting my exercise classes, has this happened to anyone else?

I'm almost 3 weeks post-op, and I was told NO to any AB exercises. Because the muscles are still healing from the port and the surgery. I don't think I'll be able to do them for another 2ish weeks.

However, I want to do ab work outs SO bad. I've never wanted to so bad in my entire life!! haha :)

Did you ask your Dr if it was okay? Maybe see what he/she says. The tighter feeling might be additional swelling? That's what I was told that could possible happen since it's not totally healed yet.

Be careful!!! :)

I should have been more specific.

My friend was banded a month ago. I was banded 4 months ago. I thought her Dr meant no sit ups forever!

I would have never been able to straight after surgery. It took me three months to get serious about exercising :)

Oh yeah! I'm sure you're all clear for sit ups by now! If it's getting tight though, I might ask your Dr... It's probably nothing, but it's better to ask in my opinion!

And no sit ups forever? Yikes! I'm sure she'll be OK to do them at some point in the future! We need to tighten the muscles up some how!! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
