I am bothered by everyone leaving or taking a break... or getting their feelings hurt. I am bothered that people are getting upset at "newbies" for trying to help others with the rules. Like "newbies" are dumb just because they haven't had the band for 18 mths or more??? A LOT of the people that are offering advice are offering what they have been told by their Dr.... Just what is bothering me these days... So sad that people are taking everything so hard. I really try not to. Just my 2 cents!!!

I used to have a bad habit of deleting posts, which drove people buggy, but I did it again and deleted myself from the now-famous Ortiz thread. Also, I promised never again to participate in an "LBT war," which is the direction that thread was going. I have to learn to keep certain opinions in the proper place. I'm struggling with the decision of what to give up this year during Lent. I have oh so many weaknesses that I just cannot decide. chocolate? Sweets? Junk food? Soda? Fast food?? BTW, I know none of the above are recommended foods for bandsters, but it seems like lately I've completely forgotten what it means to be banded. Anyone else preparing for Lent?

Ok, I am SUPER glad that Drew won. I was his fan since the first time I saw him dance. But, is it me or was it just WRONG that Stacy was third and Jerry Rice got second? I mean come on, how many times did Stacy and her partner get perfect scores and the best Jerry did was like a 27. And what was up with only giving Drew and Cheryl a 27 on their final dance?? This is one of the things I got for my birthday. Something I did for myself. Because I've had so many different health issues, I felt that I needed something really strong for healing. My sister could use some prayers today. Her daughter, Karen 21, my neice, slipped in the shower and was found by a waiting freind (they go to college together) that said she was in the shower too long. After calling 911 they tried to resuscitate her for over an hour with no luck. My niece who I just saw 2 weeks ago at a wedding, sat right next to me at the dinner. She knew about my band and we spoke often about WLS. I told her about Sue and her DS surgery as well. Karen was about 280lbs and maybe 5’2. I had a sonogram earlier this week, and the sonographer was able to clearly identify "girl parts". I'm so excited that I'm going to have a daughter!!! I already have a 5 year old son, so now we'll have one of each. Only 4 & 1/2 more months to go. Come on maternity leave.......

My 10 year old is in 4th grade. He goes to a prep school - although he is just an average kid, he is among those that are very gifted. So, its project time! He chose Social Studies - Economics, and his topic was, "Crude Oil". For those of you who have kids old enough, you know this is a parent/child project. :tired Well, Marcus came home three times during the week worried, because ~ "Mom, the other kids said that I have a stupid title." I have been a watcher for this new "miracle" treatment for fine lines and wrinkles. I was hoping that it was going to get a bit cheaper too. I want it, badly for eye lines when I smile. Well last tuesday I went tanning. I had gone numerous x's over my lifetime & practically have never ever burnt. But it had been about 3 to 4 yrs as I told the 17 yr old behind the desk & I wasn't sure what was new on the market & how long I should go for. At the seattle splash party this web site was talked about. The name was not said publicly, but what was said it was known by some that it was lapbandtalk. While I'm not banded I was wondering if anyone else was having this phenoma occuring. I've lost 38.5 pounds in around two and a half months and I have lost 6 to 8 inches around the waistline. Awesome. People tell me I am looking SO much better. Fabulous. The problem is that I haven't felt this flabby and saggy before. I suspect it's a literal case of the skin being less tight (due to the considerably reduced stuffing) and its flapping around like a flag on a windy day. I spent the last week in FL for work. My company has a twin operation in Tampa. Out of my week there came a possible (optional) promotion that would require relocation to FL. DH and I spent a lot of time talking with people there about what it's *really* like to live there, but would appreciate more input. We were introduced to the pros & cons, esp. the pests, but had limited time to find out what it's really like. I have been having sharp pains in my left breast. They aren't tender pains like I get before a period, but sharp pains that feel liek are deep inside the breast. They feel like a poking, sometimes a harsh squeeze, even so bad sometimes it feels like someone is stabbing it. Does anyone know what causes such pains that last for more than a week now? I'm gonna get checked out by the doctor if it doesn't stop, but am looking for a little peace of mind in the mean time.

So TODAY I am 50. I've been saying 50 for a few months because I've been getting mentally prepared for it. I just wanted to post because I did have a good weekend. I was going out with friends on Friday night. So first I went and had a haircut and highlight. I cut 31/2 inches off of my length. I got it styled, then I went home and started trying on clothes. I can fit into a size 10 now. It has been over two years since this has happened. I can barely see straight. It is no big secret that today is Valentine's day. So here is how my day went. No no...let me preface this. I check the new posts twice a day and lately it seems that there have been 5-7 pages of postings each time I do the checks. That is A LOT to go through and keep up with. Okay... so I have this story to tell..... I get a call tonight from a friend (we will call her "Jane") in absolute TEARS and huffing and puffing and groaning.
