If you have never experienced INSOMNIA then you can't even begin to imagine the frustration of not being able to sleep. You are physically tired but just can't shut off your mind and relax. Or you get sleepy and lie down thinking at last I will now fall asleep only to be wide awake when you do lie down. GRRRRRRRRRRR!! Tossing and turning all night long. Hoping you don't wake up your sweetie. Then getting mad at them for sleeping because you can't sleep. Then feeling guilty for being mad that they are asleep. LOL!!! So then you get up and go watch some TV or read a book hoping that will make you sleepy and the next thing you know the sun is up and you have been awa…

Ok while waiting on my floors to dry, I am blocked in my office and have no orders to fill :paranoid (i know who the heck mops at 6am lol) My husband and I have been watching so much tv and following shows this year that we have to block time to watch them lol go to www.tvguide.com if you haven't ever been. I forgot to add www.imdb.com Internet Movie Database In the black line at the top click on listings/listings grid - there is so much information there. You can look up shows, what episodes have aired and when the next time a particular show will be on. What are your favorite shows? What tv can't you live without? 1. House - funny, sarcasm suits house …

Ok, I just need to let off some steam. :frusty: My past two weeks have been pretty crappy. It's 17 days from the end of the school year and the kids are going crazy. I teach in an inner city school, so some of the issues get really bad because they are used to solving their problems with yelling and fights. :boxing:  I've pretty much come out of the band closet with most of my co-workers. If they ask questions, I answer. Because of this, two of them are looking into the band and one other is seriously considering it. This has been pretty much the only highlight of these two weeks. One person, our retired nurse's assistant, gave me her opinion of how much we…

I had been wanting to watch that show for awhile, I know it's old but I just got to watch it last night. I thought it was interesting~ And I will think 3 times before eaatting at fast food again! I much rather eat at a sit down place anyhow, But sometimes you know traveling or going out etc. we do sometimes eat out at wendys. It did make me feel good that my kids hate Mc D's but all fast food places like that are the same. Did anyone else watch this movie? What are your thoughts on it? Did it change the way you look at fast food?

Who here started and runs their own business? I'm looking for any and all advice because my time is running out. When I was finishing college, I said I would be a paralegal for five years and then own my own business. Slumber Parties is the smartest thing and best business decision I have ever made in my life, and I have NO intentions of ever giving it up. However, I am not the owner of Slumber Parties. I have my own dreams and goals and have started to put a business plan together but I have to admit that I have very little experience - other than what Slumber has taught me. I've discussed this with my husband and father and am now seeking information from all s…

Just curious .... does anyone really stay away from beef products, if they know it's from Canada? Wondering if there's still any lingering mad cow fears...

I am scheduled for banding on May 9. On April 23 ( over a week ago) DH hurt his back. He has been to Dr. and PT. He can barely walk so he needs a lot of my care. Now, I don't mind that. BUT, he is supposed to take care of ME when I get my band next week. He really is only slightly better than when he got hurt. I might have to reschedule. I'm starting to think about being bummed!:cry

This is so sad. My mom, bless her heart, is nearing 70 and she is in great shape. She has always taken very good care of herself with diet, exercise, Vitamins and about 10 years ago she started taking Fosamax to fight osteoporosis which is very present in the women of our family. Mom loves to snowshoe and hike, she kickboxes and works out every week. Recently she went to have a cap replaced on her tooth. The dentist noticed an infection under the cap, so he sent her to a periodontist (sp?) to have that taken care of. While there, they found some bone deterioration in her jaw and scheduled an appointment for her to come in and have the dead bone removed. Well, yesterda…

This is really funny and I hope it brings a smile to someone today.:biggrin1: I decided to get my butt moving yesterday and walked around the house several times. My 5 yr old son was very interested in this thing called "exercise" mommy was doing. At first, he was riding his bike behind then in front of me and was enjoying his "exercise". He finally decided to join me in walking. It wasn't long until he grabbed himself. I asked if he had to pee. He said no, he was just adjusting. A few steps later he said, "Mommy my pee pee is moving, that's exercise too!!" I about died right there. :faint: I was so glad that we weren't in public. Then again, I'm sharing it here. You j…

I recently went for a 'physical' and my doctor advised a tetanus shot because it had been some time since my last one. I agreed, but not once did he mention any risk or side effects that this shot may impose. Well, let me tell you - for the next two days I had a headache and a pounding in my head. In addition, the afternoon after having the shot - I developed a fever (103). When I called the Dr. the nurse said that it probably wasn't (yeah right) brought on by the shot and I was probably coming down with something else... and advised me to take a couple of aspirin or tylenol and call them back if the fever didn't break. Fortunately, it did break and I felt better in …

A job I held for 15 years is coming available again, seven years after I left. I am seriously considering trying to be re-hired, but the reason I resigned in the first place was the daily commuting. It's in NYC, about a 75 minute commute from my home. Once I had children, that was just a no-go. But the job is one I loved, and I miss it every day of my life. There is nothing remotely like it near me, not on any level. So I'm trying to figure out a practical way to take the job back, but limit my commuting to 3 days a week. If there are any telecommuters here, I'd really appreciate hearing exactly how it's managed in your company. What do I need to propose to make it happ…

This was on AOL today. It speaks volumes I think. Updated: 07:53 AM EDT Jobless or Fat? Most Prefer Former By Nanci Hellmich, USA TODAY (May 1) -- More than half of Americans say they'd rather lose their jobs than get fat. Fifty-eight percent of women and 54% of men say they'd rather be unemployed than gain 75 pounds. And 63% of women and 55% of men say they'd rather be poor with no extra pounds to lose than rich and substantially overweight. These are the findings of a poll of 1,007 people for Fitness magazine. It will appear in the June issue. "People believe it's a monumental struggle to lose 75 pounds," says Liz Vaccariello, executive editor of Fitness. "Th…

Like I said its a temp job I will be leaving this assiment when we take the kids to fl for the summer but when hubby and I return June 4th I will be reassigned to a new area or the same. Hi Everyone, I've had lower back problems for the last few years (2 surgeries last year to repair herniated discs). I've been doing well for a while, but lately it has gone downhill. Has anyone on here ever tried an Inversion Table (they flip you upside down and take pressure off the spine). If so, did it help? Thanks in advance for your input. :eekB:

MsJoy had her 3rd fill today. Since her second one, she has been convinced that she was doing horribly. She could eat ANYTHING! At the bandster meeting the other day, she was a good girl (according to the food police) and had only a cup of soup and a little chicken. Usually she can eat almost as much as me. Even though a friend had asked her where the truckload of farmers had gone that use to live in her slacks, Joy just KNEW........KNEW that she hadn't lost an ounce since that last fill. More than likely, she had gained a little, even. We go in and they gave her another cc, for a total of 9...and the news that she had lost another 8 pounds since the last visit. :faint: …

I haven't got internet access at home yet so I haven't been able to access lapbandtalk. I've certainly been missing everyone. I got my shipment yesterday so this morning I unpacked my scale. I am down to 161 pounds and 34% body fat. That means I lost 6 pounds in the last few weeks and 2% body fat. Eating here is challenging. Its a struggle to find band friendly foods. Also, I just got a working microwave on Monday and my stove yesterday. So many dinners have been yogurt with Protein powder. Or processed meat and cheese. I know my calories have been low. The last few days I've been working 11 hours without a lunch break. The meetings I'm in don't even take…

All day yesterday, I would read a couple of threads or make a couple of posts & then bam! It would knock me off. I was listing stuff on ebay all night last night & never had a problem, unless I tried to check in on LBT. Then this morning, I made 3 posts on LBT & Bam!!! I got knocked off again! Any ideas anyone? Anyone else having this problem? I probably won't be able to read your posts cause I'll probably get knocked off again. LOL!!! I'm not just getting knocked off of LBT, I'm getting completely knocked off the internet.:help:

The next cordial I want to make is pure blueberry~~ yum yum! Also we have 5 Gal of Honey mead in the making~ once we get it all in the bottles it's said not to drink it for "Atleast" 1 year...Oh man... Okay, this is stupid, really stupid and I know it, but I am just SOOO SAD!! I realized just how despairing I am when I opened up the LAST PTA letter from my son's high school and found myself balling my eyes out! Arthur, my youngest, will be going away to college in Santa Cruz in September. My oldest will be graduating from there in June and looks like he'll have a job in Sacramento (I'm in SoCal). When Arthur got accepted at UCSC I felt so gratified that I'd succeeded in getting both my kids on their way. I worked very hard at being a good mother. (Despite all the guilt of divorcing their father.) But now that my mothering years are really over... NOW what? I'm …

Here's an old one that I already did but we had so much fun that it's time for a rerun. Okay people, NO CHEATING. You must describe exactly what underwear you're wearing this very minute. No running to change or making up lies either. I'm wearing big lycra granny panties and a mattress and a $3.99 Walmart bra that's been around way too many years. NEXT

Hey all, I just got back from the courthouse. I am officially divorced as of 10:30 this morning. It feels weird. Good but weird. I got a little choked up when the judge was announcing to the court that "evidence shows that this marriage is herby absolved and shall from this moment on Leenerbups "Cowbell" (using fake name of course) be known as Leenerbups "Pirate". I'm glad this happened during the Spring. Ressurrection, Renewal and rebirth, and all.

I have a pair of 22W Jones New York Stretch Jeans that are really in great shape except for a very small zipper repair. Not even the zipper, it is the stitching on the side of the zipper. Easy machine job. The other pair is a light weight grey pair of side zip pants in a 22T. They are from Avenue. Can anyone use these? Probably more 22s available too as I clean out.... Oh ya....Jone Pants are brown. Cute with pink or teal

THE MOMMY TEST I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. "Why?" my daughter asked. "Because it's been laying outside, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty and probably has germs" I replied. At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, "Wow! How do you know all this stuff?" "Uh," ...I was thinking quickly," All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mommy Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mommy." We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering th…

Wish me luck! I have a new job working in a consignment shop! Wish me luck in not buying anything! I am guaranteed Mon - Fri 11-3 & then extra hours when needed. & I get 20% off & first pick of the clothes that come in! The place is huge! It's like the size of 4 or 5 Dollar General stores (if you know what they are). It's only 15 minutes away from home. I have never worked that close to home. I think it will be fun!:clap2:

Colonoscopies are no joke , but these comments during the exam were quite humorous..... A physician claimed that the following are actual comments made by his patients (predominately male) while he was performing their Colonoscopies: 1. "Take it easy, Doc. You're boldly going where no man has gone before! 2. "Find Amelia Earhart yet?" 3. "Can you hear me NOW?" :phanvan 4. "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" :help: 5. "You know, in Arkansas, we're now legally married." :omg: 6. "Any sign of the trapped miners, Chief?" :rolleyes 7. "You put your left hand in, you take your left hand out..." :heh: 8. "Hey! Now I kno…

Just one pix--this is my son (of course!) and our biggest baby bunny, who we named Margaret, even tho I don't know if it's a girl or a boy. Oh well. The bunnies are adorable--I am totally smitten with them--I think we will keep Margaret--the others are already spoken for! (for pets, not to eat!) Here they are!

... that I love so many of you! I am overwhelmed with by the encouragement, support, cheerleading, friendships, love and trust among all of us. Where else could we bare our scarred up, naked bodies (and hearts) and feel so great about it afterwards? I have made some very special friends here and the list just keeps growing by the day. Anyway, I just felt the need to say thank you and to gather you all up in a big !
