DH was adopted at birth. His parents have been wonderful! His dad passed away 6 years ago but his mom is doing well. He has always been told he was adopted so it's always been part of his life but he's had no information about them or pictures or medical history. He has had the medical records that record her name and her father's name so he was able to track down her father (years ago but never did anything with it). Well, a couple of weeks ago he finally got up the courage to call his birth mother (he's 36 years old). They spoke on the phone (she lives in Idaho)- it went well. He also was able to get the name of his birth father. He and Anne (birth mom) began sending …

Okay, here's the story I have been promising. On Feb 24, I boarded the big plane(s) and flew to Minneapolis, Amsterdan, Nairobi, and finally to Lilongwe, Malawi (40 hours later - landed Sunday afternoon). Monday I met with people from USAID, Malawi Accountant General and staff. Tuesday I met with the Secretary of the Treasury and Budget Director. Wednesday I met with South African and British representatives that are working there too. Thursday was the Auditor General, Speaker of the Parliment, and the US Ambassador to Malawi. Of course, in between I had to meet with security personnel, scope out my house, try and find out about a car, etc. I am waiting for …

I was banded in early January (Approximately 10 weeks ago) I lost 15 pounds the first two-three weeks. I have since lost only 5. I've had one fill, going back for a second tomorrow. Is this normal or do I need a major adjustment?? I've now had my second fill. I can feel the difference. I've already lost three more pounds this week. Jan - 262 Feb - 250 Mar - 240 Apr - 235

I told ya'll that next year things are going to change a little, so the first thing we need is our own, unique and individual name. From now on, the annual event at my house will be known as the Vegas Blast. This idea came from a Vegas gal that has been lurking. She's off to get banded by Ortiz soon, and she referred to our party as the "Blast." She asked if she could join our bandster family, and I stole her idea for our new name. Jenna, she said she loves your posts! Michelle, send me a PM if I can give her your name and number for questions, but don't even think about stealing my new friend! LAS VEGAS BLAST 2006 is tentatively scheduled for the last weekend …

On Wednesday of next week, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning, the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06. That won't ever happen again. You may now return to your (normal ?) life.

Did anyone else catch Wynonna Judd on Larry King live yesterday? I watched a repeat this morning and it was a good show. She talked about her battle with the bulge and her food addiction. She also discussed in recent trip to rehab for food addiction. It was refreshing to see someone of her status discuss their weight issues. If you get a chance to watch it, do so...it was inspiring.

MsJoy and I were awakened at 5:00 am on Monday morning. My sister was screaming something at my wife and Joy was saying, I'll be right there. When I quized her about what was going on and where was Vickie, she didn't really have any answers. She was going to drive around until she found where she was. She was at the hospital and her husband had just died from a massive heart attack. Dennis was 39. We started making all the arrangements the next day. Tuesday evening, we were at Vickie's house around 10:30 pm, tired and starting to wind down when there was a phone call. The caller told my sister that our mom was being loaded into the ambulance right that minute and would …

Well, It's sure been a wild week for me. I got all moved out of my apartment at Idaho State, and moved back with my husband and son. I've sure missed them. My MIL drove back with me, which is a good thing because I'm doing that "completely blind in the dark" thing. Hard to drive 14 hours, but we did it. I still have half a dozen bins to unpack, and re-integrate back into my family. I have to go through things and repack things that I don't need. I'll be saving them if I decided to go back to ISU, after everything is taken care of. Still haven't figured out what my husband did with my main pencil pod with my drawing pencils, nor my main sketch book, but I have a b…

I was just thinking today that I should come up with a good joke on April 1st for my boys since they are old enough to understand. They are ages 5 yrs & 3.5 yrs. Any mommies out there have any good ideas? We love to joke and laugh together so I know they'll enjoy being tricked. :heh:

Hi All, I'm so proud that I just have to share... my brother-in-law found out that he's been awarded a Purple Heart for an incident in Iraq last year. He's a doctor who was stationed in the heart of Baghdad and he was shot in the ankle by a stray bullet while on a rescue mission. They were shooting small missiles at the ambulance that day, so we almost lost him altogether. He is home and safe now (and out of the Army - woo hoo!). Just wanted to share the good news with my LBT buddies.

I need some Input LBT Please. I am going to see about changing my reflux medication just for cost reasons and cause I am still having burning in my throat. Right now on Nexium 40mg 2 times a day. My Monthly cost right now is 274.00 I haved priced Aciphex, Prilosec, Previcid and Protonix. Now Protonix seems to be the less expenseive but I wonder is there anything else out there that I missed that has worked for you? Has anyone tried Protonix and what did you think of it? Actually they are all pretty expensive and I am trying to narrow it down. Waiting for the Dr's office to call so we can talk about it some More. As always Thank You

I'm asking this mostly out of curiosity..how long did most people wait until their first fill? Are the bands generally left empty when they are first put in?

Hi - just found this piece of information and thought I would share it with you! This must be where we're going wrong!! The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. The French eat a lot of fat and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. The Japanese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. CONCL…

Some of youmight have noticed I have been missing for the past week. Most prolly haven't. I wanted to let you all know so I could get some prayers and thoughts from those willing. Actually they are for my daughter. She has been in the hospital for the past week (since last saturday night) with severe pneumonia. It has been a real struggle. The antibiotics they are giving her are not doing anything, and her fever has been almost uncontrollable. So has her pain. She is in such severe pain that it makes her retch and scream. They have her on morphine, but sometimes the pain gets through. It has been very hard on all of us. My mother flew out from Seattle to help…

Hi All- Everyone is so darn clever here I thought I'd throw this out to the masses and see what comes up. I'm going go-karting for a work function Friday Night. I've done this before and actually love it. It's like you're driving a lowered lawn mower really fast. Last time I did it, one of my Ironworker buddies hit me really hard. He was so sweet, he said, Gee Sal, are you OK? Your head really snapped back (he really was sincere). I said, my neck is ok Mark, but you made me pee my pants. Anyhow, I'm going for it again. I've got a couple of names for a couple of guys: Dash McCrashington Dirk Swerveswell Everyone put your foil helmets on and help me think o…

I don't know if the issue is my server or LBT. Is anyone else having to wait when they click a link? It seems to take forever and I have high-speed internet. Maybe this is a just a reminder for me to be more patient. I hate slow internet. :phanvan

I'm completely hooked, and I didn't even know the show existed until yesterday. I'm not a big TV watcher, and what I do like I TIVO... which means I need to know it's on, so I don't even know what 95% of the shows out there are. Pure coincidence yesterday -- I was flipping through channels trying to find a weather update and came across a "behind the scenes" for Prison Break. Figured whattaheck, watched an episode (there was a marathon) and I was instantly hooked, and there really aren't many shows I like, let alone that I'm hooked on. My last hook was HBO's Carnivale, and it hasn't even aired a season since January last year (still keeping my fingers crossed th…

I’ve believed several truly ridiculous things in my life. When I was very small, I didn’t like the crust off bread. My Dad told me that just like fruits and vegetables, the crust of the bread held all the Vitamins. This is not the most ridiculous thing I’ve believed either…. When I was about 6, I discovered/ realized that my mother had a tattoo. You have to understand something about my mother. She portrays herself as a paragon of virtue, the panicle of dignity... Her tattoo is her name written in cursive just at the stocking line. This was done in the 50’s, so you know she was a wild child, and not a paragon of virtue… She told me that everybody has their name …

Once again this year I walked in the 5K Los Angeles Marathon. IT was awesome again just like last year. That is just over 3 miles people. I think it is a HUGE accomplishment for me since I have not done any real heavy walking since before my Band removal in Dec 05. I was dying by the time I crossed the finish line at just under 60 min. Last year I did it in about 57 min so I am pleased that I still managed to come in under an hour. I swear next year I wanna run it. I do I do. LOL!! Anyway, just had to share. We had friends in from Nashville who walked it with us and she took some pics so as soon as I get some from her I will post them. Loads of fun toda…

Ok, I had a weird day, so I thought I would share. As most of you know I live in Portugal so fat people are a bit of a wonder here......however, I have noticed a lot more obese people in the last year or two. With that being said......I have probably put on a few more pounds recently, I guess since I found out about the band and since I'm on the list for surgery, I have kinda let myself go, eating things I usually restrict myself from. (I have to restrict myself all the time just to maintain my weight) but I'm up to 250 now from 225. (pretty much over the course of a year or so) Right well, today I went to the mall with my husband, a totally normal thing, I go to that…

I went to bed last night, I sleep on my side, and I had this pain, I thought ok, now what the heck, I turned over on the other side, same pain again. I thought ok, something under the sheet. So I start feeling under the sheet nothing. Tried to go back to sleep still this nagging pain, then I realized the pain was from my hip bone. Never felt that before.. It was funny to me just wanted to share, thought all would enjoy a laugh. Kind of a NSV for me.

Good Morning to all. I was wondering if anyone new the reprocussions of having a car sent back to the dealer. I am finding that my car is overwhelming me and my life with it's large payment but i am not sure what to do. I am continusously in financial hardship because of the car and even one month behind. I am not sure how this would/could affect my credit and what else i would have to do after it went back. I am not sure if anyone has gone through this but any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Every year on this day, I say this all day long. I 've done it for as long as I can remember. I'm very superstitious. My baby was due on this day last year, and I convinced my OB to take him a week early. What movie/book/story do you quote regularly?
