My BIL got a Purple Heart!

Hi All,

I'm so proud that I just have to share... my brother-in-law found out that he's been awarded a Purple Heart for an incident in Iraq last year. He's a doctor who was stationed in the heart of Baghdad and he was shot in the ankle by a stray bullet while on a rescue mission. They were shooting small missiles at the ambulance that day, so we almost lost him altogether.

He is home and safe now (and out of the Army - woo hoo!). Just wanted to share the good news with my LBT buddies. :)

Anne, thanks for sharing your story. Congrats to him and all our brave men and women over there. I am so glad he is home and safe now.

Thank you for sharing this and be sure to say THANKS to him!! It was a well deserved award. We have a family history of military service and I understand the stress when a loved one is in harms way. So glad to hear he is now safe at home to stay....I'm sure there were tears of joy when the family heard the good news. Again, let him know we're thankful for what he has done for this great country!!

Congratulations to this brave man. I know your family must be so proud.

I salute your brother in law and all of our troops, risking their lives every day.

Anne,

What a special sign of bravery. This is something that he will have for the rest of his life!

He is truly blessed.
