A few days ago I saw something growing on my face. It first looked like tiny red patch but over the last few days turned a bit bigger, darker and uglier. I've been applying rash cream but nothing. It's just getting larger. I looked online to see what skin cancer looks like and it kind of resembles what I saw. I called a dermatologist that accepts my insurance and they told me the doctor is booked through the end of June and is going on vacation after that. I told her that I have something growing on my face and was looking to come in as an emergency patient, and she answered 'You'll just have to go to your family doctor'. Well, I don't have one right now. I dont hav…

Is anyone else watching Starting Over? I find some of the exercises they have the women do are inspiring to me, I have repeated some of them at home. Sometimes they just give me ideas for things I can do, for example my "sugar divorce". All of my binge foods are loaded with obvious sugar, I haven't binged since my banding 3 months ago, but I was eating cake, cookies, and chocolate candy bars again. Now, I now there is hidden sugar in many otherwise healthy foods, however; if it just screams sugar ( cake, cookies, and chocolate candy bars) it doesn't have a place in my daily life anymore. Thus the divorce, I may see it around, but I won't have a close personal relationship…

Ok, so I am fat. I can not believe this happened to me... in front of my son! Was walking thru Walmart toward the toy section and these two men walking the other way started mooing. My son did not pay any attention to them, but I felt like dying. I gave the biggest go to hell look I could muster up and walked past. But really wish I had the guts to HURT them or something. Now I know why it is so hard to get a permit to carry a gun, because I was so ready to kill both of those stupid jerks. I can not believe this happened. What would you have done?

Funny how marriage invents new words & phrases that nobody understands but you. I often take it for granted that we speak in tongues, which makes people look at us like, "Huh, what the heck did you two just say?" So I'll share some of our common household words and phrases that have over the years become part of our daily conversations. The funniest thing is how these words and phrases have come full circle, and I guess I use them often enough that my whole circle of friends talks like this now. I heard a co-worker telling another co-worker to, "Stop acting so damn nibby." Then another co-worker said, "Let's order pizza, I have a hankerin." Those are both my …

So I'm past the first hurdle in getting back my "real" job that I left seven years ago, a job I loved and to which I desperately want to return. I had a conference-call interview with a search committee, and now they've invited me back for a 3D interview with three people. Here's where I need help: How does one negotiate for a salary? I haven't interviewed for a job in eons. Maybe ever? The last time I talked about compensation for a new job, I took what was on offer and left it at that. I was 23 years old. They've said the salary is "negotiable." I know what I need to make, and would love to make more (of course). I know they can afford my floor, and how high they m…

  19. Hold up hold up hold up!!! I live here in America. Here is America we have this little thing called FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Okay, now with that in mind we also have freedom in choice. And with THAT in mind, why is it that this forum is so over moderated with threats of locking threads and deleting posts and everything? I agree I haven't been in the "mix" of things lately but I do have the right to speak my mind and I do choose whether or not to participate in those particular posts. I think that everyone in the questioned threads had a right to speak, whether they agreed or disagreed. I think that when you post a thread, you are opening it up to everyone. I think …

I'm guessing that K@t is fluent in Portugese, and I know that we have several folks who speak Spanish like a native. We have Keerbara, but I'm ashamed to admit that I don't know what is the official language of Saudi, Farsi, I'm gonna guess... (don't know if I spelled Farsi right though) Anyone else?

    1. I have along with the other moderators been watching all the threads that have "bashing" in them. 2. Moderators do not play favorites as was implied. 3. We take each incidence and see just where the problems lie based on the rules and guidelines we ALL agreed to when we joined. 4. After careful review of reported threads if there is not a specific person's name mentioned or singled out for attack then we can only offer a gentle reminder of the rules and guidelines. IF you can show a specific person's name mentioned where they were attacked to the moderators then we will in fact deal with it. 5. The fact we are having to use our moderator skills so much latel…

What are the policies at your job regarding jury duty? And do you work for a large or small company? My office is small, 7 people, with only one or two typically who are on salary (the others are on commission only). If a staffer gets called to jury duty, the company continues to pay the salary while that person serves. It's never happened that the jury duty was more than one or two days, but I'm told that even if a staffer were impaneled for a few weeks, they'd pay the person anyway and either work around her absence or get a temp. My husband works in a deli, and just served two days of jury duty for which he was granted...the opportunity to make them up on what shou…
