Okay, I always like to have a few irons in the fire and now me and hubby have decided to start a new biz! I have a successful day job but for tax write offs and in the never ending search for extra cash, I have decided to open my own Mobile Airbrush Sunless Tanning Service! I'm in the process of finding the right machine for this and get costs down. It lasts approximately 5 - 10 days depending on your skin type and how often you exfolliate. I'm very excited and if anyone has any feedback or informatin on that, please share! Also, if there are any guinea pigs who want some free tans in the Ventura County or Santa Barbara County area, hit me up!

Has anyone been following the upheaval on "The View?" It appears Star Jones/Reynolds is history and upstaged Barbara Walters by announcing her departure without warning. Star went to "People" magazine and told her version of the story forcing Barbara to make a public announcement on the show and deciding not to have Star return to work out the remainder of her contract. Barbara provided Star the opportunity to become a star and kept her employed for 9 years. Star's contract was not being renewed and ABC said Star could state whatever reason she wanted to for leaving and they would back her up. I think Star's actions were juvenile and a slap in the face to Barbara Walt…

Hey all, I was just so proud of the way this turned out I wanted to share it. I made it for my cousins new baby. She bought a bed set called lil' buckaroo for the baby with this cowboy in the center. So I used a program to turn it into a cross stitch. I am really thrilled about the way it came out. This is the latest thing I have done, but if want to see what other kinds of things I have done feel free to check out my gallery here.

No. I do not hope the space shuttle blows up today or on it's return, but When Will They Learn? What happened to all the pledges after the first shuttle disaster? What happened to all the pledges after the last shuttle disaster? After each tragedy, there were pledges that schedules would be damned, "safety first" would be the only criteria. I worked as an aircraft mechanic for almost 35 years. We were pressured to keep schedule. The airlines all say that they put safety first, but it is amazing how keeping planes on schedule somehow creeps into the equation. And there is also the human factor of the workers/mechanics/technicians. It is easy for them to get lazy.…

Fresh from my shower, I stand in front of the mirror complaining to my husband that my breasts are too small. Instead of characteristically telling me it's not so, he uncharacteristically comes up with a suggestion. "If you want your breasts to grow, then every day take a piece of toilet paper and rub it between them for a few seconds." Willing to try anything, I fetch a piece of toilet paper and stand in front of the mirror, rubbing it between my breasts. "How long will this take?" I asked. "They will grow larger over a period of years," my husband replies. I stopped. "Do you really think rubbing a piece of toilet paper between my breasts ev…

My BABY graduated this past June 22nd from High School. Boy do I feel old? All my kids are out of school and three are on their own. My newly graduated son is still living at home and going to College now. I kind of like him living at home but I know there will come a time he will want to leave. :think Anyway, thought I would share some pics of that glorious day. Here is the first set of pics all from the actual day. I was so excited about him graduating that I spaced out getting pics of him at home in his cap and gown. DOH!!! :faint:

Just rec'vd this in my e-mail today...... The Florida Department of Fish and Wildlife is advising hikers, hunters, fishermen, golfers and tourist in general to take extra precautions and keep alert for alligators while in Florida. They advise people to wear noise-producing devices such as little bells on their shoes or clothing to alert but not startle the alligators unexpectedly. They also advise the carrying of pepper spray in case of an encounter with an alligator. It is also a good idea to watch for fresh signs of alligator activity. People should learn to recognize the difference between small young alligator and large adult alligator droppings. Young alli…

Since the summer began, I've seen several movies... (mostly kiddie shows) Over the Hedge Cars Ice Age Lake House Over the Hedge was AWESOME!!!!! I laughed as much - if not more - then then kids. Its a great show. Lake House (with Keanu Reeves & Sandra Bullock) was a total thumbs down. Mike thought it was OK - but kept reminding me that I picked it out! It didnt make sense. Very big dissapointment considering the actors in it. What about y'all... seen anything good lately? I wanna bring the kids to see Shaggy Dog - is it any good?

The FDA approved a vaccine, targeted to women between the ages of 9 and 26, that would protect them from HPV, which is a leading cause of cervical cancer. They are recommending that most girls get the vaccine at ages 11-12 (before they are sexually active). Any thoughts? Link to MSNBC story: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13612899/

Ethel was a bit of a demon in her wheelchair, and loved to charge around the nursing home, taking corners on one wheel and getting up to maximum speed on the long corridors. Because the poor woman was one sandwich short of a picnic the other residents tolerated her and some of them actuallyjoined in. One day Ethel was speeding up one corridor when a door opened and Kooky Clarence stepped out with his arm outstretched. "STOP!," he shouted in a firm voice. "Have you got a license for that thing?" Ethel fished around in her handbag and pulled out a Kit Kat wrapper and held it up to him. "OK" he said, and away Ethel sped down the hall. As she took the corner near the…

They say things like HOT MAMA and SEXY GIRL & want my advice or help. Anyone else getting these messages are am I the only lucky one?! :rolleyes Up to this point, I had felt safe posting my pictures on this board, but now I'm not quite sure. My husband is disgusted by it.

Ok I have a question for you, I was in a car wreck in nov. of 05, where a kid rear ended me. I thought it was nothing till about a week later. My neck was killing me so i went to the chropractor for about a month it was not getting better. so i went to the pcp and they did xrays and gave me some meds. I eventually went to a sports dr and had physical therpy. well in all this my hubby contacted their ins. to let them know about our claim. The claims adjuster is rude and NEVER calls us. I have sent about 30 faxes to her and when I ask why she didn't call she is like "I didn't get the faxes.." ahhhh i just want to scream. I have been done with drs. for over a month and she h…

Hello everyone, *Update - A lot of people have asked me about what to get their Secret Sam since most people don't know others personally. I thought it might be a good idea to do this: When I send out the confirmation e mails you will all need to reply to confirm your address and that you still want to participate. In addition to this it would be helpful to add 2 or 3 things that you like and also maybe include your shirt size if you feel comfortable.(some people have asked about getting T-shirts) (i.e. I like cats, butterflies, and rock music, I wear an XL) That way your Secret Sam can have a few clues. Hope this helps! I know the Easter gift exchange just ended, but…

I know, for our overseas friends it is not that late. And even our west coast members...it is only a bit after midnight. But I have to say I love it when it is this quiet. LOL Its like shopping at walmart at 4am. You feel like playing with all the toys in the kids dept and racing through the aisles on your shopping cart. Ok...so I haven't done that since college, but a girl can remember back and dream about those carefree days right? LOL Who's up for a trip to waffle house? HA!!

OMG, I am home after my hernia surgery this morning. SIX incisions, and PAIN, PAIN, PAIN!!! I only had to drive/ride 15 minutes instead of an hour and a half, and I felt like dying. This is so, so, so, bad. I am typing while under the influence (codeine) and still hurting. I would have a lap band put in any day over this. Feels like I have been stabbed, beaten, run over, and punched again. And that is putting it mildly.:think Even feels worse than my c-section. How is that possible??? So guys/gals if you have ever survived one of these and are worried about being banded... don't be! At least this is my last surgery (I hope).

Hey everyone, I know this is a little O.T. but my surgery is exactly 2 weeks and I've had a BAD problem with internal and external hemrroids for the past 5 years and we were out on the boat all day today, kind of a family get together before surgery and all of the tubing and hitting of waves has got them to bleeding AGAIN. I know what they are my physician has diagnosed them years ago and they will bleed when I do stupid stuff. Just wondering if anyone of you or anyone in the medical profession had any ideas of something to help them before surgery. They are usually cleared up after a few days but I'm panicking, I don't want anything to mess up my surgery. Thanks…

Here's a strange request - my boss wants me to find a live play for him and his dgtr to attend between June 25-June 28 (she is pre teen). I've found several local theatres including the Children's theatre (but they are off season)- does anyone have a local paper or know of any plays during that time. Of course I need it today and I"m researching like mad, but they also have 10 other activities I'm looking for plus the hotel, well, you get it...so any help from my fellow bandster pals is MUCH APPRECIATED. THANKS! MARY

Okay girls...my sister and I are taking the class to get our endorsements this fall and will be receiving some money that we intend on buying motorcycles. Would like to hear your opinions on what you like/dislike about particular bikes. I have short legs so I've been looking at the more retro low-slung bikes like Honda Shadow, Harley Heritage Softail, Kawasaki Vulcun...those types. We used to ride dirt bikes as kids and dad always had street bikes plus my brother-in-law is into bikes so we do have some background knowledge and help. Just want to know what you have experienced and enjoyed. Thanks!

Hi gang, Just a heads-up that I'm going to be away for the weekend starting Friday morning. I'm visiting friends at their beach house in Massachusetts, and though I don't expect to get much rest (my girls are coming with me ), the change of scenery will be nice. This'll be a good way to catch my breath after my recent (professional) roller-coaster ride. So I won't be around until Monday or so. Have a great weekend, everyone! Be good!! :biggrin1:

Just wondering what y'all like out there...Right now I'm listening to Omarions new "Enterouge" it is pure fire...Also LOVE Dead Prez and I'm a faithful Bizzy Bone fan...I'm a Hip Hop baby, bought my first rap 'TAPE' in 1988 Too Short and never looked back. I love the Hip Hop culture from West coast to East Coast to Dirty South. Back in the day I even got to kick it with Tupac RIP....

I'm doing great on my unbanded diet and I am now approaching my 'goal' weight. I set my goal weight at 225 pounds. Not unreasonable by any means given that I started at 307. Then I ran my BMI at 220 pounds. According to the Center for Disease Control - my goal weight, is overweight. Not just a bit overweight mind you, 21 pounds overweight. That is quite a significant number by anyone's standards. So this has led me to ask you all a question. Are people setting realistic goals, or are the "official" goal weights unrealistic? I'd love to stop being 'overweight", but it certainly seems inplausible from my current weght!

To Be 6 Again A man was sitting on the edge of the bed, observing his wife turning back and forth, looking at herself in the mirror. Since her birthday was not far off he asked what she'd like to have for her Birthday. I'd like to be six again, she replied, still looking in the mirror. On the morning of her Birthday, he arose early, made her a nice big bowl of Lucky Charms, and then took her to Six Flags theme park. What a day! He put her on every ride in the park; the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Monster Roller Coaster, everything there was. Five hours later they staggered out of the theme park Her head was reeling and her stomach felt upside …

Ok, so you guys/gals know that I have been desperate or money for my classes. I have been teaching technology and art, both of which require materials... and lots of them. With all of the budget cuts there is absolutely no hope of the school investing in either of my programs because they are not TAKS related, and therefore "unimportant". At the same time I have been writing grants, researching, and begging for my current classes, I have been applying for other jobs. I am convinced that if I work at a larger district I will have more resouces and that will make my life easier. Actually interviewed for a job last week, and think I have it. (Their HR department…

We adopted her a few weeks ago and are still working on potty training. She is 18 months old and has spent the last 6 or so months in a cage, we literally saved her from being put to sleep, she was on the list for the next batch to be put down. She is an American Staffordshire Terrier and I am just crazy about her. ~Mandy

Good morning guys, I've heard people who swear by it and others who swear against it. I've talked to a couple of personal trainers in the past and both insisted that strengh training is essential in weight loss and that you should do it since you start your weight loss journey, because gaining muscles boosts your metabolism, etc. I also talked to a nutritionist before who told me that I should wait until I have lost a larger amount of weight and then start strengh, otherwise my scale won't move. Losing inches is great, but I love to see my scale go down as well, I guess I can say that I'm addicted to the scale. (I know, I shouldn't) Ultimately, I just want to do what'…

I have a couple of stories....here's the first one. I have three sons - Thomas, Patrick, and Kelly (can't tell I'm Irish Catholic, can you?). When I discovered I was pregnant with Kelly, number one son was 4 and number two was 2. We waited a few months and then sat the oldest brother down, ready to deliver THE news. "Tommy", I said, "I have something to tell you. We are going to get a new baby." Tommy didn't say a word, but big tears welled up in his eyes and silently slid down his cheeks. "What's the matter?" I asked, "Don't you want a new baby brother or sister?" Still trying his best to hold back the tears, my heartbroken little boy said, "No, Mama.....I…
