I'm sure everyone is aware of the theory that Kevin Bacon is the Center of the Entertainment industry, and that every actor can someway be traced back to him. (Rin Tin Tin and "Fatty" Arbuckle both have a rating of 3) Mike Short has a Bacon number of 2. Mike Short was in Muffin Man (2003) with Stephen Kyle Stephen Kyle was in Mystic River (2003) with Kevin Bacon http://oracleofbacon.org/cgi-bin/oracle/movielinks?firstname=Bacon%2C+Kevin&game=1&secondname=Mike+Short http://oracleofbacon.org/

Hey everyone, I thought I would share this news story about Cushing's. Jammie, the woman who's featured, has lost another 10 pounds since this story aired. My Cushing's was found because I refused to give up finding an answer about why I couldn't lose weight. Weight issues are one of the more obvious symptoms of Cushing's. Anyway, right now I'm on a cortisol High, and I'm testing. Keep your fingers crossed for me to get really high numbrs. One more high number and I'll be on my way for my Pit surgery! http://www.49abcnews.com/news/2006/jul/22/surgery_could_cure_rare_cushings_disease/ You will need quicktime7 to play the video, but you are offered a download.

I am new to the board and I am trying to decide if I want to be banded.:paranoid I am wondering who has been banded the longest and if you have had any complications, if so what are they. Alot of the postings on this board are from people that have been recently banded. I am interested in the longterm effects of the band. Thanks so much Kimmiechelle:)

Hey guys! I just wanted to share these pictures with you! We went with our shop to a tattoo convention in San Antonio, TX two weeks ago called the Alamo City Tattoo Convention. We had a great time and we were able to meet Kat Von D from Miami Ink. She was so nice, pretty and TALL! She is a great artist and if you watch the show you have seen her work. We took both of our girls and had a great time. Enjoy. Me, my daughter Faith and Kat Von D My husband-Kenny, daughter Bryanne and Kat Von D

I need help! A few months ago (May?) you edited 2 pics of mine to compare a 10 pound weight difference. In one I was wearing an orange t-shirt and brown cargo pants. The other I wore brown trousers and a funky blue shirt. You put them side-by side for me somewhere! Do you remember what thread? Oy vey, I have pics all over this board and I want to get them all into my NSV thread, orhterwise known as my journal! LOL Anyhow, if you can remember, I'd be grateful. I want to C&V, if I can remember how, since you got them side by side and smaller. Thanks!!!!!! P'nut? Beuller? Anyone? Anyone?

As of late I have noticed other men, besides my DH checking me out. It is such a great feeling to get the looks again. I am still far from my goal or ideal weight, but it sure is nice to feel sexy again! :clap2:

Hey girls I am in some desperate need of help!!!! I am going to Hollywood this Wednesday to be in the audience for RockStar Supernova and the new show The One (cross between Amerincan Idol and Real World). THe dress code is Very Hip Night Club Attire! Before my 50lb weight loss that would of meant Lane Giant (oh..I mean Bryant) 7-jeans and a cute shirt with sleeves! Well now I am wearing a 18 bottom (did get a pair of elastic waist 16's) and 16 top! :whoo: I don't normally dress up much due to having 2 small children that keep me busy, coaching club softball and teaching at a local high school. I need :help: What would you suggest for this event? I was going to hit Torr…

My boys were looking at my scars yesterday and asked why I had surgery (like we hadn't discussed it a 1000 times, gotta love kids). I told them that mommy wants to make her belly smaller. The youngest said, "But, why mommy? You belly looks just fine to me." I kissed them both and just about cried. They are the reason I know I can succeed and my DH, of course.

I sure hope this is not spam... I don't work for them or anything, I just love a good SALE!!! I went into the Catherines by Collin Creek Mall today and noticed that they have several racks marked 70% off the markdown. So I was really happy that I went in today. Well... When I went to the checkout the lady told me that everything with a red dot is going to be marked 80% off on Sunday, the 40% off items will be 50% off, and that the regular priced items will be 40% off. So... I am going back again on Sunday. Hope to beat you there!!!

Ok, so I am going through some big changes regarding taking care of myself as well as my wallet. After removing all my cosmetics and counting up how much it's worth I realized my cosmetics are worth (alot) more than I make in a month. It's scary and it made me cry because I am really broke and am struggling to pay bills. I've been so broke that lately I haven't been going out at all because I couldn't afford $10 to pay my way. I think I've been trying so hard to make my skin and hair look good because I've felt uncomfortable being fat. Now I'm losing weight and feel better about myself than any cosmetics ever made me feel and don't feel the need to use them as much. …

Sometimes the threads get dry and I just want to talk to bandsters without the delay of posting. We joke about how the chat room goes unused. I figure the way to fix it is to set an example. Shame the pagers are gone... Hey, pick a topic, I put my DD to bed hours ago. She is still awake and I need something to distract me from the tantrum... I may have to take little breaks to give Water and potty breaks... Geneva Convention and all...

Aren't these plants really difficult to kill? Leave it to me. So, all you green thumbs out there, what do I do with this pitiful thing? I'd like to put it in a prettier pot (obviously) but do I replant the whole ugly thing? or do I cut off what's left of the good stuff before it dies, too? Does this pic even give you a clue about what can be done? I am at a loss, and I'm about to trash the thing, but when it's pretty...well, it's a beautiful plant! I had it indoors, but it was falling apart and I stuck it on the deck rail during a misty rain, watered it slightly, and, well, here it is...help!!

Just thought I'd mention...I'm fairly certain that I saw Jack in the "Pirates of the Carribbean - Deadman's Chest". It was a wee part and you really have to pay attention to the extras in the bar fight scene and the scallywags scrubbin' the ship's deck...but yup...pretty sure it was our Jack!!!

With Christmas around the corner...ugh!!....I thought I would pass along this information: I wanted to return two items purchased at Toys R Us. I did not have the sales receipt, however, the items were 0boxed with the Toys R Us name on them. They would not return the items. I told them I understood that without a receipt I would only expect a store credit which was just fine. I would told that as of June 12, 2006 only items with a receipt could be returned......even if the store name was on the packaging with the store code. I asked the manager if the item was defective and I did not have the receipt (say it was a gift, for example) would they return it? NO....…

Hello all, I may be posting this a bit premature, but I'm so excited I just had to post something. My husband and I have come to the conclusion that we may move back to the US next summer (one year from now) My husband has never lived in the US and he really loves computers and we think he has more job opportunities there than here. Previously he was working with his father but things have changed. I have been living here 3 years and although I am teaching English, I think I could find a job in my field (business) there or I could continue teaching. We will probably be moving to the Lakeland area of Florida (in between Tampa and Orlando). We have to settle things up her…

From the first day I was banded I noticed my sweat smelled...well different! At first I thought it was becuase of nothing but clear liquids for three weeks and now I am on mushies and it still smells weird. Not to get to personal, but my husband says I even taste different (don't get thinking dirty- when he was kissing my neck):kiss2: He also says I have a different ododr. I thought well is this like ketone breath- had that for a while then I have gotten over that but I went to sea world yesterday and I was shocked how different I smell. What could this be? Am I the only one? Please dont be shy! I really am interested! Thanks!:rolleyes

http://www.okcupid.com/tests/take?testid=16336235046633759176 This is a cute test. No using the internet for answers. Here is my rating. Bourbon Congratulations! You're 123 proof, with specific scores in beer (20) , wine (50), and liquor (130). Screw all that namby-pamby chick stuff, you're going straight for the bottle and a shot glass! It'll take more than a few shots of Wild Turkey or 99 Bananas before you start seeing pink elephants. You know how to handle your alcohol, and yourself at parties.

**I just got this in my email box. Its NOT my writings/findings. But it sure makes those of us with OCD issues think alot! ** Bacteria on Purses A study was performed on women's purses. A health team went to a local mall and took samples from the bottom of 50 women's purses. The purses were swabbed with cotton swabs along the entire bottom of the purses and placed into special containers. The swabs were then processed at a local laboratory. The Health Report also showed where women place their purses: public rest-rooms (on the floor beside the toilet), kitchen counters & kitchen tables, on tables & chairs in restaurants, etc. The results of the laboratory…

Okay, I've had a few glasses of wine, and I've always wondered this... I know we have lots of LBT members with tattoes. As you lose (or gain) weight, have they shrunk nicely, or do you have a bunch of tattoes that look like something out of a Salvador Dali painting? My sister has a big tiger on her stomach, and I've always wondered if it turned into a big blob after she got pregnant... Just a side note: my mom is so cute... she was just talking the other day about how so and so's daughter had a tattoo and none of her kids would ever get one. Little does she know 3 of her 5 kids have one, lol. (not me - I was too chicken, but maybe when I get down to goal!!)

My fellow DFW area bandsters, Mikey and his wife JanetC, went into hiding and read two books this weekend and it made me wonder, what is everyone reading right now? I did the two book weekend a couple of weeks ago with Dan Brown's Angels and Demons and The DiVinci Code. Except that I couldn't get interested in The DiVinci Code and put it down. I'm currently reading a nonfiction by David Starkey about Henry VIII called Six Wives, The Queens of Henry VIII - catchy title, huh? I'm enjoying it, particularly when I'm having a hard time falling asleep. Naturally, it's taking a long time to read - ever since I put down The DiVinci Code in fact! So, what book are you readin…

One of the ways that I deal with stress is through humor. I kno that many feel it in bad taste, or poor form to make fun, but this is how I deal. I once had a pointy-hair boss tell me she was goining to write me up for making fun of people with breathing problems. She was personally offended by all the Darth Vader breathing impressions and the canary-in-the-mine jokes. No, someting you have to understand, she was offended by me making fun of me. So there you go. For now, I think I'm out of my FREAK-OUT panic mode, and I'm ready to be me again, ready to reclaim my life again. So, as part of me being me, I thought I should name the tumor. I mean, we have 18 bazillio…

Anyone ever heard of this? http://www.herbalife.com/hl/templates/templatepreportal/herbalife/index.jsp Here's the story... There's a couple from our church that we've been having casual 'Howdey' talk with. Nothing personal. Lastnight I met the wife in Walmart. She started talking to me about Herbalife - they are distributers for it. :tired Ive never even heard of this - I actually thought it was Metabolife, the old herbal diet pill. She corrected me - AND - listed many of the WONDERS Herbalife has done for her and her family (I hate people like that) one of her poke's is that she dropped 60 pounds when she started using Herbalife. Best yet, she informed me…

My husband walked out 3 weeks ago with no warning. Well, I guess I'd have to say I had no idea, but there might have been warning signs. He said he is no longer in love with me and wants another chance since we are both 40......I turn 40 on Monday, actually.........anyway, I am devastated. I am seeing a marriage counselor to help me through this, but can't stop crying......I am not going out because it is so hard to say to people what has happened. My husband was a popular guy that others always ask about. I can't seem to say "He's moved out" or something to that effect without starting to cry. I am in such shock. If you have been through this, how did you make it…

Ok, I HATE double posting, so I apologize in advance, but the Illinois area forum doesn't seem to get much traffic and my trip is coming up quickly. I'm going to be in the Aurora/Naperville area the later part of next week. I need suggestions for relatively nice restaurants, with band-friendly menu items, that can accomodate larger groups. TIA!

Ugh! I am being audited by the board of medicine (just like 869 others just like me, merely a random thing) and I can't find the verification paperwork that they want!!! This is going to cost me $750. And I did it, i know i did.... I'll keep searching tomorrow I guess. Also, I went to visit my family this weekend. My sister was there with her fiance. Now, her fiancee and I have this long-running history of not liking each other (ever since high school), but we've been getting along well lately (I didn't see him for about 5 years in the meantime). Anyway, I thought he said something super condescending towards me and I tried to bring it up. Turns out it causes this hug…

My mother sent this email to me and I sent it out to lots of my friends and also to Christina (Illsucceed). So now I am sending it out to all of my LBT family. Chocolate Sings > > One day I had a date for lunch with friends. Mae, a little old "blue hair" about 80 year old, came along with them --- All in all, a pleasant bunch. When the menus were presented, we ordered salads, sandwiches, and soups, except for Mae who said, "Ice Cream, please. Two scoops, and make it chocolate." > > I wasn't sure my ears heard right, and the others were aghast. "Along with heated apple pie," Mae added, completely unabashed. We tried to act quite nonchalant, as if …

I forgot to take my regular body/face lotion with me when I went to visit my family last week so I used my sister's Proactive lotion (twice). BIG MISTAKE. Huge. I have sensitive skin to start with so I really, really, really should have known better. My neck turned red and itchy the next day and now, 5 days later, it's still red and itchy and has now formed little teeny tiny blister-looking lumps. I don't think they really are blisters because I tried to open one to see if it was filled with anything but it wouldn't open. I know, ick. My forehead and behind both ears are itchy and lumpy too but not red. I've tried Benedryl, no help. I've tried Alovert, no help. I'…

My surgery center is outpatient center. While my DH was in the waiting room, he said a woman and her husband came in to check her in. Then he left her there. She told my DH that her husband was dead set against this operation. He wouldn't do anything to help or support her. She even had to drive herself to the center. He came only because she needed to be driven home. He didn't go with her into the pre-surgery or recovery area at all. Not before. Not after. He was just there to drive her home. She was so sad.:cry

I know it's been a while since I've posted, but life has been incredibly crazy. I just returned from Guatemala 2 days ago, and am rearing to get back out into the world. Does anyone happen to know of companies who will employ you via the internet? I am not talking about get rich quick schemes, or anything like that. I'm talking about legitimate companies who have you work for them, and will allow you to travel the world while under their employ. I am willing to be trained, will work long hard hours, and am willing to reach for goals. While I do not have a college degree, I do have experience in sales and marketing, customer service training/experience, newspaper exper…

Where did you go/plan to go for vacation this year, or even years past? I'm trying to decide on a destination for some time this month or early August. I'm thinking maybe one of the all inclusive resorts - maybe Cancun. Anyone have any suggestions? I have a 13 year old who is not keen on being unplugged from her cell phone for a whole week. Here's a picture of the harbor at St. George, Bermuda. We took a cruise there two years ago and it's beautiful.
