I'm inspired to ask this after reading the "English teachers please help" thread in Rants & Raves. Has anyone ever misunderstood the lyrics to a song and was surprised to find out what they really were? When I was a teen there was a song where I thought the singer was saying "spread yourself" all through the chorus. It was MANY years later that I found out he was singing "express yourself". It gives it a whole different meaning.......

What is wrong with me??? I am obsessed with finding out how Anna Nicole Smith's son died. I keep thinking about her and reading everything I can about the case. I've spent literally hours reading every article out there and they all conflict. Why don't I have anything better to do with my time?

Have you ever had someone, known or stranger, tell you something so outlandish you think they're joking but they're actually very serious? This happened to me lastnight (and several other times). I know from searching here that some of you use them, and I have a question for you. We'll have some candid girl talk... I bought some slacks yesterday and need them Monday so there's no chance I'll be able to have them altered in time. We have been thinking about adding another dog to our family and were strongly leaning toward a Boxer. 3Loves paid a visit to the local shelter today and fell in love with a female Jack Russell. She is at least a year old judging from her teeth. Both of our boys got to visit with her in a room and she seemed to be so loving with them. She has only been at the shelter for a week and not even officially available for adoption until tomorrow. The only concern is a red spot on her butt. She is also scooting. Ok. We (my BW & I) are relatively new to Florida. In Brooklyn, we always had a oven with a separate broiler section below the gas jets (flame area). Broil was the last stop on the knob. No temperature was stated. In Florida, we have an electric oven with digital controls (no knobs). We have always used the "Bake" mode which comes on by default (automatically). The maximum temperature in "Bake" mode is 500 degrees. There is only one section to the oven. On the oven control panel is another push-button next to "Bake" which is labeled "Custom Broil". Well, I finally have the nerve to show everyone. I took a major fall and slid down my deck steps when they were wet LAST week. I am okay but moving VERY slowly. I also scraped up my back and knocked the wind right out of my sails. Still can't sit on one side yet (the cheek so I sit a bit with a slant). Yesterday I went shopping with a friend for miscellaneous items for the new location of my gym. We visited Wal-mart and thought I might as well take a look at the clothing section since I was there. Since being a big person I have loathed clothes shopping.....just was so depressing, was easier to order from the catalogue and send back what didn't fit. I cant believe I am married, it still hasnt sunk in yet. So, today I turned on the tv and it went to a porno channel. I asked my hubby (of 15 years) about this and he tries to tell me that he just came across it channel surfing. Hmmmmm. So, I check the purchases on tivo, and, guess what? Many porno movies were bought in the past months. All without my knowledge. Believe it or not, I'm not a prude. I'm unhappy that he needs to watch porno in private to "reduce stress". I'm thouroughly bent out of shape about the lies occuring for so long. He tried real hard to lie his way out of this one. Don't know if I can even write this. I am so depressed, because my house feels so empty without my little dog. I had to put him down yesterday because he got so sick, he has been real sick for over a year but I had managed to nurse him along since then, dreading the day... I took a couple of 14 year old boys to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers a couple of nights ago. I had a good time, but it was so much fun to be with the kids. They were so excited. It was a great concert with amazing effects. We got to our hotel (the Ramada) about midnight only to find that they had no room for us despite our reservation. So they sent us over to the Four Seasons at their expense. Being an old hippy, I tend to see hotels as mainly places to crash, however I have to admit this was really nice. I have to do a two year medically managed diet as per my insurance. I did LA Weight loss 12/04 to 6/05. They have just sent me a copy of my "chart documentation" with all my weigh in (I requested it in June and was told that they could not send it to me, when asked why they stated that it was "their property" and it could only be released to my doctor. Since my doctor never received it, I sent them another fax yesterday and they faxed it to ME today.) So, if my insurance accepts this as part of my two year medically managed diet, I should be ready to go by December. On my way home from work this morning I passed the middle school. The P.E./Gym class was running laps around the school building and acreage. Most of the teens were in healthy (skinny) form and seemed to be keeping a good pace. The instructor (firm & fit) sounded like a drill sergeant screaming at the kids. Just wanted to honor the people that died 5 years ago today and the families that continue to struggle with living without them. May God continue to watch over each and every one of us.

My dh and I both work the O.N. or graveshift. DH works 5pm-3:30am and I work 11pm-9am. We generally sleep till 3pm then get up and eat our supper meal together. Then dh is off to work shortly there after. I then have a small bite to eat around 8pm and then off to work by 10:30. I am able to snack some at work, but I try to choose healthy snacks. I generally eat a yogurt for breakfast at work or oatmeal or something similiar (around 6am). I get home around 9:15am and then stay up till 10:30, then head to bed. Any one else work the graveyard shift and how do you eat and exercise and all that good stuff?
