I'm inspired to ask this after reading the "English teachers please help" thread in Rants & Raves. Has anyone ever misunderstood the lyrics to a song and was surprised to find out what they really were? When I was a teen there was a song where I thought the singer was saying "spread yourself" all through the chorus. It was MANY years later that I found out he was singing "express yourself". It gives it a whole different meaning.......

What is wrong with me??? I am obsessed with finding out how Anna Nicole Smith's son died. I keep thinking about her and reading everything I can about the case. I've spent literally hours reading every article out there and they all conflict. Why don't I have anything better to do with my time?

  4. Have you ever had someone, known or stranger, tell you something so outlandish you think they're joking but they're actually very serious? This happened to me lastnight (and several other times). And a few others I've been told... Lastnight I was walking into a store, not paying attention, and tripped on a crack in the sidewalk. Nothing major, just a little hop. There was a guy walking behind me, in his 40s, dressed in a killer suit, looking like a pretty sharp guy. He asked me if I was ok, and told me he has a tendency to trip on nothing, too. Then he says, "It's too bad they can't do more about the ants." Completely confused I told him, "I'll trip over a lot of thing…

I know from searching here that some of you use them, and I have a question for you. We'll have some candid girl talk... I bought some slacks yesterday and need them Monday so there's no chance I'll be able to have them altered in time. Kind of a good emergency - I bought a bunch of slacks a size too small a few weeks ago thinking I'd be good to go, but when I went to try them on they were already way too big... which means one of those last minute runs to the store again (big business trip next week, meeting with the CLO... can't really get away with my Saggy Baggy Elephant pants). Not being able to have them tailored means compromising on fit - I'm a bit high waist…

....and are williing to be sucked in to this addictive site: http://www.silverjewelryclub.com/ My sis turned me on to this. Pretty decent jewelry, some with real gemstones. The item is free, you pay $6 shipping and handling. My sis has friends who have used it and she has as well. Good quality stuff. None of it outrageous, just fun stuff. I can't vouch for it personally, but damn, the concept of only one item every 15 minutes has me totally ADDICTED waiting for the next item to come along..... Enjoy....but don't say I didn't warn you. I personally have a terrible OCD personality and so this website is terrible for me! lol!!

We have been thinking about adding another dog to our family and were strongly leaning toward a Boxer. 3Loves paid a visit to the local shelter today and fell in love with a female Jack Russell. She is at least a year old judging from her teeth. Both of our boys got to visit with her in a room and she seemed to be so loving with them. She has only been at the shelter for a week and not even officially available for adoption until tomorrow. The only concern is a red spot on her butt. She is also scooting. After talking to the vet, they think it could be a swollen anal sac. Apparently, this is not uncommon if a dog has been a stray and had a poor diet. A poor diet can ca…

A man and his ever-nagging wife went on vacation to Jerusalem . While they were there, the wife passed away. The undertaker told the husband, "You can have her shipped home for $5,000, or you can bury her here, in the Holy Land , for $150." The man thought about it and decided that he would just have her shipped home. The undertaker asked, "Why would you spend $5,000 to ship your wife home when it would be wonderful to be buried here and you would spend only $150?" The man replied, "Long ago a man died here, was buried here, and three days later he rose from the dead. “ I just can't take that chance."

Ok. We (my BW & I) are relatively new to Florida. In Brooklyn, we always had a oven with a separate broiler section below the gas jets (flame area). Broil was the last stop on the knob. No temperature was stated. In Florida, we have an electric oven with digital controls (no knobs). We have always used the "Bake" mode which comes on by default (automatically). The maximum temperature in "Bake" mode is 500 degrees. There is only one section to the oven. On the oven control panel is another push-button next to "Bake" which is labeled "Custom Broil". I pushed the "Custom Broil" button and the maximum temperature in "Custom Broil" mode is 500 degrees; the same as in…

Yes this is dating me some but I loved this one particular album of theirs. It was called "Transition". It was released in 1971 on Reprise Records. They don't have it in their vault. There was ONE song in particular I fell in love with. It was called "Two Little Boys". I have been searching all day long to try to find it and all I come up with is on Ebay where a few people are selling the Vinyl. I would like to find a CD but know this might be impossible. I have searched all the possible venues: Musicmatch, iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, AOL Music and NONE of them have the track. I want it and I want it now. The song was written in 1902 as a poem about the Civil War an…

Yesterday I went shopping with a friend for miscellaneous items for the new location of my gym. We visited Wal-mart and thought I might as well take a look at the clothing section since I was there. Since being a big person I have loathed clothes shopping.....just was so depressing, was easier to order from the catalogue and send back what didn't fit. Anyhow....I headed straight for the plus size section! I now wear a 12P! It took me a good 5 minutes to realize what the heck I was doing. Carol

Give me all you got, all you experienced people out there. I got me a cute little 3yo boy who is beginning to do the deed. This has been my technique so far, since it worked so well on my daughter, but as you know, the boys are a totally different animal. (He's in there now watching an episode of Spiderman for the third time. I don't understand how that captures his attention?! My daughter would never sit still for that?!!!!) Anyhow, my technique so far is not to push him. When he's ready, he'll do it. So he turned 3 in Feb and started to worry a little. My daughter was fully independent at this age. But he goes for hours with no wet diaper and I even changed a dry one…

Three women; two younger and one a senior citizen were sitting naked in a sauna. Suddenly there was a beeping sound. The young woman pressed her forearm and the beep stopped. The others looked at her questioningly. "That was my pager," she said. "I have a microchip under the skin of my arm." A few minutes later, a phone rang. The second young woman lifted her palm to her ear. When she finished, she explained, "That was my mobile phone; I have a microchip in my hand." The older woman felt very low tech, but not to be out done, she decided she had to do something just as impressive. She stepped out of the sauna and went to the bathroom, and returned with a piece…

So, today I turned on the tv and it went to a porno channel. I asked my hubby (of 15 years) about this and he tries to tell me that he just came across it channel surfing. Hmmmmm. So, I check the purchases on tivo, and, guess what? Many porno movies were bought in the past months. All without my knowledge. Believe it or not, I'm not a prude. I'm unhappy that he needs to watch porno in private to "reduce stress". I'm thouroughly bent out of shape about the lies occuring for so long. He tried real hard to lie his way out of this one. I can't help but worry there are other lies out there. What now?

I took a couple of 14 year old boys to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers a couple of nights ago. I had a good time, but it was so much fun to be with the kids. They were so excited. It was a great concert with amazing effects. We got to our hotel (the Ramada) about midnight only to find that they had no room for us despite our reservation. So they sent us over to the Four Seasons at their expense. Being an old hippy, I tend to see hotels as mainly places to crash, however I have to admit this was really nice. It's the first time I've ever had a comfortable pillow in a hotel. The next morning we checked out a guitar shop and then I went for a fill before coming home. A good …

Now that I am older and going through menopause, I find it even better! In fact, about a month ago, I spilled some red wine on my new white blouse. I generally eat a yogurt for breakfast at work or oatmeal or something similiar (around 6am). I get home around 9:15am and then stay up till 10:30, then head to bed.
