Welp, I got into the whole jewlery making thing.....these are a few pieces I made today for Christmas presents. There is another neclace earring set, but the earrings aren't finished yet, so I'll post a photo of that when the set is complete.

I need quick responses here. Tonight is the season's first Christmas party, hosted by one my DH's old crew (pre-retirement). It's either the outfit in the Christmas portrait photo, or this one. You kind of have to use your imagination, as there was no one available to take a pic of me actually wearing the outfit. It's black velvet gauchos, red shirt, and plaid vest trimmed in black velvet. I can button the vest, or leave it open. The boots actually go up higher than the bottom of the pants. My DH isn't too sure about the gauchos. But he's not exactly a fashion maven, either. Tell me what you think. Oh....I do have a Christmas sweather I could wear in place of the …

Like many others before me, I’ve been watching my weight since I was 9 years old. In fairness, at the beginning, I wasn’t that much heavier than other girls my age, but the dreaded comparison of my ‘big boned’ and heavily endowed body structure to those of my thin, beautifully developing peers contributed to a progressively poor self-image. Swimsuits and pool parties, sports recreation and being forced to wear ‘larger-sized’ clothing that was ‘out of date’ did nothing to help build my sense of self worth. So I continued to live out my life as the ‘fat girl’ - the vivacious personality that everyone wants to be mates with but no-one wants to date! Dieting has been a never…

I always just kind of knew that 1X = X-Large. I mean, "1X" means it has one "X", and "X-Large" has one X. Just like "2X" would be "XXL", "3X" "XXXL", etc. Am I wrong? I really want to know. Because this weekend, my mother and I disgreed about that (she believes "1X" is the same as "XXL") -- and THREE retail clothing clerks we involved in the discussion also agreed with her. Their premise is that S, M, L, and XL are "base" sizes. XXL begins "plus" sizes. Saying "1X" indicates "1 size into the plus sizes", which is XXL.

THE YEAR 1906 This will boggle your mind, I know it did mine! The year is 1906. One hundred years ago. What a difference a century makes! Here are some of the U.S. statistics for the Year 1906: ************************************ The average life expectancy in the U.S.was 47 years old. Only 14 percent of the homes in the U.S. had a bathtub. Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone. A three-minute call from Denver to New York City cost eleven dollars. There were only 8,000 cars in the U.S., and only 144 miles of paved roads. The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph. Alabama, Mississippi, Iowa, and Tennessee were each more heavily…

Looking for some guidelines or etiquette practices. Or just general opinions. We loaned a digital camcorder to a friend of DH's. Camcorder never made it back to us. Friend is a good guy and offered to buy us a replacement, or give us an amount of money toward an upgrade. Camcorder was older, about 5 years, but only used 3 or 4 times. Fat me would never let it come out of the bag b/c then I might have to face the facts of my huge ass. We paid a high price for it, which is really irrelevant since they've dropped so much in price and it's once hi-tech features aren't all that "hi" anymore. So what's the right way to handle this in terms of replacing the camera? D…

Is it just me? Everytime I set foot into my in-laws home, (god bless them) my sister(s)-in-law, brother(s)-in-law and Mother and father-in-laws constantly talk about weightloss and gain, diet and nutrition and ask me 1,000 questions. Mind you, this happens each time I enter their home. I mean, I'm in the kitchen eating with them or just walking in and then BAM! Never fails! Constant questioning/interrogation of diet, goals, etc. I swear they ask the same thing everyday all the time. Another gripe here... Meaning to bring in a CD of work today, I accidentally grabbed a backup CD of pictures. So instead of having something to work on, I have lots of things to look at. 1. So I was enjoying the weather on the deck this summer, and noticed a pretty white flower on my patio tomatoes. I didn't think tomato plants had white flowers, so I went for a closer look and instead of a flower, found a caterpillar covered with wasp eggs. 2. Every odd year a little Kansas town named Lindsborg holds Hylningsfest ("Swedish Honor Festival"), and every year since he moved here in 1997 DH and I go, because it gives him a little taste of his home. Unhealthy, unhappy, and feeling unbeautiful. A mask of my own making, of my own destruction. Each pound weighing the body and the soul. Freeing as it falls away. A new choice, a new life. Beginning a new journey. My body no longer my enemy, this is a war I will win. And here I stand, emotions raw--- disrobed and no longer ashamed.

Also mention a few things about yourself, any thing that might help your SS (Secret Santa) pick a gift for you. And for those of you that have been around for awhile please mention if you would be interested in being a substitute should the need arise. On November 25th, sign up is closed, and I will then send a confirmation pm to you verifying your address, and that you are still interested in the exchange. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls. 2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. Like fine single-malt scotch, it's rare. In fact, it's even rarer than single-malt scotch. You can't find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-alcoholic or something. 42. Thanksgiving Mystery: Does Turkey Make You Sleepy? Brian Handwerk for National Geographic News November 22, 2006 Thanksgiving feasters take heart. Contrary to popular belief, turkey's tryptophan dose doesn't cause drowsiness. In fact, the substance could possibly aid in the treatment of depression and multiple sclerosis. Purified tryptophan is a mild sleep-inducing agent. That probably spawned the idea that turkey and other foods heavy in tryptophan cause drowsiness. But tryptophan can't get to the human brain in large amounts when ingested as part of a massive Thanksgiving feast—it needs an empty stomach. "Tryptophan is taken to the brain by an active tra…

Jack’s mother told the BBC she had left her password for the eBay auction site in her computer and her son used the “buy it now” option to complete the purchase. “Jack’s a whiz on the PC and just pressed all the right buttons,” Rachel Neal said. The seller of the second-hand car, a dealer from Worcestershire, central England, was amused by the bid and agreed not to force the sale through. “Luckily he saw the funny side and said he would re-advertise,” Neal said.
