In a zoo in California, a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set of triplet tiger cubs. Unfortunately, due to complications in the pregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny size, they died shortly after birth. After recovering from the delivery, the mother tiger suddenly started to decline in health, although physically she was fine. The veterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused the tigress to fall into a depression. The doctors decided that if the tigress could surrogate another mother's cubs, perhaps she would improve. After checking with many other zoos across the country, the depressing news was that there were no tiger cubs o…

Just got a phone call from my very tired and worn out daughter. She has just left the hospital where her hubby was admitted for gallstones and a diagnosis of Hepatitis. They are pretty sure the gall bladder needs to come out but being a small hospital and the weekend who knows when it will happen. He is stable right now and heavily medicated for the pain. I told her to make sure they deal with it ASAP in the morning or to take him to Baptist Hospital in Nashville. She said she already thought of that. I am very concerned about him and the Hepatitis. They just told him he had it but didn't tell him what type. SIGH!! Small hospital again. So keep my son in law and d…

  5. From PSYCHOLOGY TODAY Addiction: Pay Attention Heroin and chocolate cake have a nasty way of crowding out the rest of the universe. The country's chief addiction expert argues that the propensity to drink, overeat and take drugs is a matter of attention gone awry. By:Kathleen McGowan Meeting her now, it is hard to believe that the Mexican-Russian great-granddaughter of the revolutionary Leon Trotsky ever felt the need to impress her friends. But the universal teenage urge to look more glamorous drove a young Nora Volkow, then in high school, to smoke her first cigarette. A. A. A. D. D. = Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder. This is how it manifests: I decide to Water my garden. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, Ilook over at my car and decide my car needs washing. As I start toward the garage, I notice that there is mail on the porch table that I brought up from the mail box earlier. I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car. I lay my car keys down on the table, put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table, and notice that the can is full. So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the garbage first. But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I take out th…

I've been up and down with trying to make my decision on the lapband and as soon as I make up my mind my doc found a cyst on my overy. I have to wait 6 weeks before she makes any decisions on taking it off. So Iam going to hold off for awhile until I find out whats going on with my overy. Iam not too disapointed, I made a appointment with a diet clinic this week so hopefully I can get some of this weight off before summer. I just want to wish all of you the best of luck. I was wondering if I could still hang out and maybe show some of my before and after pictures too! Thats if this diet works. Thanks for all the advise!

Tonight I made a prime rib. I was a little rare, but good. I just can't seem to eat beef. I had made this great dinner for my brother and mother prior to Mother going to the hospital for colon surgery and I threw most of mine up. I found a larger piece of beef when I threw up. I chewed like crazy and it didn't get small enough. If I can't eat prime rib that I cook myself, my life is over. I find that I can eat pork chops with no problem and my homemade pizza which has a VERY thin crust. But a lot of other stuff causes PBs even when I chew it up to basically a liquid. I think I may need to have an unfill, but that entails driving 2 1/2 hours to Kansas and having t…

For those who have been around awhile, you know since surgery I moved to Lilongwe, Malawi. Well, I am spending this week, my 50th birthday, in Sana'a Yemen. I was here as part of a training team. If anyone had told me I would be doing this, it would not have been possible when I was fat. The altitude here is tough for me but it would have been far worse overweight. The band allowed me to see what I can do and the changes I can make in my life. And realize that unusual circumstances (protein shakes, veiled women, restricted travel) are adjustments I can deal with. I don't know if I am capable of international work forever. But for now, I am loving it. Thi…

  13. ADULTS ONLY PLEASE WARNING ABOUT RED LOBSTER RESTAURANTS This is important and worth the time to read! Warning!!Be careful if you eat at "RED LOBSTER RESTAURANTS." A young woman was having a meal at the restaurant and suddenly began to experience intense chest pains. Nothing her friends or the restaurant personnel did would relieve the pain. "911" was called and an ambulance was sent and the woman was transported to a nearby hospital where doctors removed the women's blouse. As soon as this was done, emergency room personnel were able to properly diagnosis the cause of the pain:

This week, the police in my home town, have been stopping women on the street to warn them about three big mistakes that the women are making, which are leaving them open to criminal activity. #1. When purchasing gas at self-service gas stations, many women leave their pocketbooks on the seat of their cars, leave their car doors unlocked and take the $20 or $30 into the convenience store section to pay. When they come back to their car, their purse or its contents are missing. Because the thieves take the contents, but leave the pocketbook, many women do not know their credit cards and driver's license are missing for hours or days. #2. Many women walk between their c…

The other is getting 'oral pleasure' from an 85-year-old toothless woman. They are both thinking the exact same thing. You may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you CANNOT go back down except to exit the building" So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. His whole family and many friends attended a wonderful celebration of his life, and so he is reaping his reward. I am only posting to let you know of his passing as I requested prayer for him a few weeks ago. In Gods mercy, he went fast, but gracefully. What dignity he had, and stregnth. No fear, just peace. It was amazing. God bless you my dear brother, enjoy till we meet you again!

She couldn't fax my evaluation to the new surgeon without having me sign a release form. So, that's done and faxed back to her, and I can go pass out now. I slept horribly the night before last and couldn't nap well yesterday. Then I was up until 3 AM this morning. I'm TIRED! Oh well, at least my only class today isn't until 6 PM.

This is a little funny in a really morbid, inappropriate way. Charging moose brings down hovering helicopter It reminds me of my Field Methods class (I have a degree in wildlife and fisheries science and am getting a master's in biology) when the professor was talking about some of the methods that you use to manage large game animals like moose or caribou. In some cases, if you need to examine them or put radio collars on them, you have to jump on their backs from helicopters (usually in cases where there is very deep snow and they can't lunge around and gore you easily).
