Good by to my Scruffy little dog

Don't know if I can even write this. I am so depressed, because my house feels so empty without my little dog. I had to put him down yesterday because he got so sick, he has been real sick for over a year but I had managed to nurse him along since then, dreading the day...

I got him for my son when I first bought my house. White house with a little fence with the little white dog in it...he was 11 1/2 years old and my faithfull companion, he was a mini poodle. I got to get this out of my head and my heart, I hate when life makes the right thing to do so dam hard.

I feel kinda silly doing this here, I mostly lurk, don't have much to offer on posts, and now hear I am looking for support because my dog died. how pathetic is that? Sorry I am rambeling.... Thanks for letting me vent Trish :think

Carlene,

Your little 'mouse' is just adorable! We had to say goodbye to our 14 yr old Lhasa on July 27. He was diabetic and blind, but when he started having seizures, I just couldn't let him keep going thru that.

He was my Baby Bear for sure. We also have a Lhasa-Poo who is 13 but still going strong, so that helps.

Don't think it's silly at all. It's like losing a family member. You will be in my prayers and so will your puppy. I have a mini daschund and they are lots more loyal than people so I know how your feeling. My last one had cancer. Just remember he's not suffering anymore and I'm sure he misses you as well.

Hi Trish, I can relate, I lost several dogs over the years and cats too. Ugh my husband just can't seem to live without dogs and cats (me either but...we have 3 dogs and 2 cats...constantly) Hubby was making special dinner tonight for our male beagle, afraid he won't make it thru the winter..I dread this. My 9 yr old lost her hamster back in April...we both balled our eyes out! He was a truly unusual hamster..used to sit with me while I typed..odd I know) All our pets have "people" names because we treat them like family. My heart goes out to you and wish you the best. Parakeet huh, that is so cute, I was thinking of getting a Conjure, but I think the cats would have something to say about that!

Take care!!

Trish, congratulations on the new addition to your family. I hope that Patches will help to mend the hole in your heart. I don't know what I would do if I lost my buddy Caesar.
