Why am I obsessed with Anna Nicole Smith's son?

What is wrong with me??? I am obsessed with finding out how Anna Nicole Smith's son died. I keep thinking about her and reading everything I can about the case. I've spent literally hours reading every article out there and they all conflict. Why don't I have anything better to do with my time?

Wow! Thanks for posting that! I always wondered about Howard when I watched her show. He always seemed so devoted to her. Maybe he was in love with her the whole time. Wow. That's big news. I wonder how long they've been together.

I think he's trying to divert the public's attention. We'll see.

As to the son. Last thing I read was methadone, lexapro and zoloft. Methadone is used to replace heroin, if someone is addicted to heroin. If this is true, I could certainly see how this mixture could put him in respiratory distress or cardiac arrest. Sounds like there is more to this story than is being told. Being the sister of a heroin addict, I could certainly understand why. God bless this family, what a traumatic event to have to share in the eye of the public.

I just read the article. It's so strange, because a friend of mine is actually on this exact same combination of drugs and has been for years and has been fine. In her case they are all prescribed by the doctor. Methadone is used to treat herione addiction, but it is also used for to treat severe back pain. I read that Daniel had been hospitalized for a week with depression and severe back pain. This is so tragic. I wonder if he took the wrong amount or something, because this combination is prescribed together.

There is no risk of death from Wellbutrin is there?? I am starting to freak out hearing that somebody could die from anti-depressants....I know that it was a combination of things but now I am worried. Somebody tell me some good news...I know that there is a slight risk of seizures with wellbutrin but thats all that I know. I hope you can't die from it. I do drink sometimes......

As long as your aren't taking Methadone with it, you'll be fine. Just don't exceed the prescribed dosage. Or take other controlled substances at the same time. Welbutrin has been around a long time and has a good track record.

Methadone is, in fact, sometimes prescribed for chronic pain - not just back pain, although that seems to be one of the favorites.

My doctor presented the possibility of Methadone therapy to me prior to my back surgery, when I really wanted to avoid surgery. Believe it or not, the first thing that came to my mind was No way! My druggist will think I'm a drug addict!

Long story short, I had the surgery. Somehow, ingesting a class 4 controlled substance on a regular basis just did not appeal to me. If the pills are so strong/dangerous that the prescription can't be refilled over the phone, I don't think I want to swallow them.

I personally don't care if it did turn out to be an accidental drug overdose (like River Phoenix). I think EVERY 20 year old should be able to party his ass off with whatever combination of pharmaceuticals he likes and NOT DIE!!!

Hahaha!

Well...it's not as if anyone has a God-given right to get high without consequences. I think every 20 year old should know that there are huge risks associated with indiscriminate drug use, including death.

What? Maybe I don't understand what your saying. :) It is sad to think people in general, let alone young people, could or should take illegal drugs without facing the consequences. There is a reason the body responds with an euphoric feeling and a reason people turn to drugs in the first place...it's the feeling from the drugs not the drugs. EVERY 20 yr old and EVERY person are important & special enough to find alternatives to facing the problems that lead them to take the drugs in the first place. Each one has loved ones that care about them and care about what they do to their bodies.

Please correct me if I'm misunderstanding what your saying. If you truly think that the right to party equals taking illegal drugs without physical, not to mention mental, consequences, well, I don't know how else to put this, but that is truly sad. :cry

Sorry- thats not how life works. Be it herbal, pharmaceutical, food or alcohol there are consequences!!! We are humans and the human body is not built for that level of abuse. There will be natural consequences regardless of the indulgence.

I agree with paladin- very sad state of thinking when people feel they deserve to party without consequences - death being the most severe!

There are no gurantees in life. Test your limits and you will find them!!!

I think kids are going to party, they the kids think there invincable, I did at that age but I was always afraid my MOM would find out and she crammed it in my head all the bad things that could happen, but I also thik kids are going to test the waters RICH or POOR. the RICH kids just have better access. a little girl I use to baby sit when I was a tenn found acceptance with a drug using crowd, well she died of a speed ball overdose (heroine and coke) the hardest thing I ever had to do was let my oldest son read the asutopsy report.

you see she is my Aunts daughter, and a family member.

my mom went with my aunt to ID the body.. so no I dont think its ok but I am not ignorant to the fact that kids/adults will party for what ever reason... I ATE instead......

just my 2 cents....
