Hey guys, lets see some of your beautiful flowers, plants and gardens. I have a question... here is a picture of a maiden hair fern (sp?) that was Mom's. I wanna transplant it to the pot on the left - but hopefully you can see WHY Im having a hard time figuring out HOW to keep the root system in tact for the re-potting. Its kinda all over the pot - and little green happening. Any suggestions?

I haven't been on much this summer, and have only in the past few days been catching up. I realized something' s been missing, and it's Delarla! Where the heck has she gone? I loved reading her posts whether they were her musings or wls support. Anyone know why she's missing? I hope it's just a busy summer keeping her away. She's the only person on here who made me snort coffee.

Well Ok maybe not too thrilled with the actual filling of the order but I just gotta keep the eye on the prize. They want 37 pieces of my collection. HOW COOL IS THAT? OK that is all. LOL!!

I have this "crop circle" that popped up in my yard and I don't know what it is. I suspect this is where my septic is...Does anyone know what it could be caused by? It's perfectly round and perfectly BROWN. The ground is firm where this is...not mushy or anything. Actually, other than being brown, its just like the surrounding area...It happened about 3 weeks ago.

When I am skinny I will: Buy cheap active wear from Wal-Mart. And Target. And Kohl's. And Ross. Buy expensive lingerie from Nordstrom or Macy's. Buy sleazy, expensive lingerie from Victoria's Secret and Fredricks of Hollywood! (lol) Wear high heels. Go scuba diving in Cozumel. Have professional photographs taken. Track down old friends and acquaintances who never knew I got fat. Go to the movies on opening weekend. Attend every office function of my husband's job. Learn to ballroom dance. Wearing high heels and appropriate wardrobe. Get a massage. And . . . What's your secret skinny dream?

  11. I was watching the news Sunday and Monday, and heard about Cuba's Leader Fidel Castro's surgery which required him to pass the reigns of power onto his brother Raul for the next week or so. The scene then changed to show the reactions of Cuban-Americans in Miami and the Cubans in Cuba. Outside of the totally opposite reaction to the medical/political crisis, I was struck with the following observations: #1. Over 90% of the Cubans were Black, but about 90% of the Cuban-Americans were White. #2. About 45% of the Cuban-Americans were in an age bracket to probably have been the grandchildren of the people that fled Cuba when Castro took control. #3. About 45% of th…

Those of you who've been through them will know what I mean We don't have them in the UK, so it's something I've had to get used to here in Greece- downside to everything eh? This one was a bone shaker...only 4.7 but very near to us. We had a huge one in February which was far away but was 6.9 and the first one ever felt by all Greece simultaneously. So, what natural phenomenon have you been through and how do you deal with em?

I received an e-mail recently with an attached file called "heartattack1.pps". It is a slick presentation on how to save your life if you are having a heart attack while alone, BUT IS IS NOT TRUE yet, because of it's high quality and because it names a medical institution as it's source, it can be very dangerous and misleading. I wish there was a way to upload the file to this forum so that all of you could see how seductive it is.

  14. If we worked for NorthWest Airline, we might not have needed a Lap-Band. They recently distributed a booklet to their employess who face job-cuts and salary cuts. The airline suggested that workers can take "a date for a walk along the beach or in the woods." The booklet also says the workers should not be "shy about pulling something you like out of the trash" and not to go shopping while hungry. Gee, and I thought our economy was doing so well.

Okay, in honour of LOVEULOTS17LOV who just got her first job, I thought it would be interesting to say what our first jobs were!!! I'll start.... Other than the obvious babysitting gigs, my first "real" job was at 17 when I got a job at a short lived fast food joint called "Frisco Jacks". It served sourdough with different toppings (not dessert like toppings....but real meal toppings....like chili etc). I was soooo embarrassed when I started working there (it was in an upscale mall to boot!) as I had to wear this BIG ol' BRIGHT RED chef's hat with a matching apron...and sometimes they made me stand out in the mall with a tray of freebies to lure the customers in....…

I am realinzing today that kids for all that they are worth can be great inspirations! My 7 year old went with me to the gym last night to workout. She was so great! She really cracked the whip with me, and helped me to keep going. She had me running and kept saying "momma you can do it, c'mon" I haven't ran in ahhh, 10 years probly! LOL...but she helped keep me going. She was so great, and it felt great to have someone believe in me! What do your kids (or grandkids) do for you to keep you going when it gets tough?

I would like to stay within 1st - 8th grade. Let me know if you are interested ASAP. We are starting our letter writing skills next week and I would like to have our students "pen pal" buddies paired up by the following week. Thanks!

We had planned on getting married, building a new house, etc. Needless to say, I was floored and totally upset. I decided to move on and have no contact with him. Well, he would not stop e-mailing me and sometimes he called. This has gone on for the past 2 years. He wants to be 'friends'. I see so many of us signed on right now and I was thinking about how far apart we all are from each other. Some of us at jobs, others at home. For some its morning, while for others its nighttime. And yet at this moment we have all come together, looking for support, lending an ear to someone who needs to vent, just being a wonderful group of people in general. And so.. I had this urge to stop for a moment, to reach thru space and time to give each of you a hug and a big smile, and to say, "Hello friend, how's your day going? Figured I'd post this to give someone a chuckle, and possibly someone else a chance to voice the unforseen "odd" side effects of weight loss. Here's my very annoying side affect of losing weight: My BUM hurts. It appears that because I have refused to exercise (so no buns of steel) and I now have lost a massive ammount of padding, I sit directly on my tailbone. This pinches and pokes the skin between the tailbone and my chair. Sad but true folks, weightless is a pain in the ass. :huggie: (now, if I could just get up and work on those buns of steel, I wouldn't be sitting here thinking about making people laugh over my painful tuckus....)

I IQ (the Aussie version of TiVo) all the current affairs programs for the week, and watch them on Saturdays. I got to Wednesday nights "A Current Affair" and they were doing a story on a woman who drink drives, without a licence. I recognised the school and shop they followed her to, I recognised HER. She is the mother of children who go to school with my son! This woman drives drunk, and unlicensed to pick her children up. I have seen her driving, and thought to myself "she must be on something" and I was right! I am so glad I am so super protective and walk my DS to and from school every day. It's very scary to know that someone like that is on the roads.

I am a true country girl, born and raised and lived 30+ years in the woods of central lower Michigan. I moved to SD in 2003, married in 2004 and make my home in a city of about 15,000. For the most part we have decent neighbors. With exception to the Yeah Whos that live across the street. They boom their music, peel out on their motorcycles, burn donuts in the street (they left two back circles), throw fast food wrappers, pop cans and such on the ground to name just a few. I don't want to cause a stink, but I want some resolution to the problem. Should I call the law if this continues, just try to ignore them, or something else? Any advice would be awesome.
