Some of youmight have noticed I have been missing for the past week. Most prolly haven't. I wanted to let you all know so I could get some prayers and thoughts from those willing. Actually they are for my daughter. She has been in the hospital for the past week (since last saturday night) with severe pneumonia. It has been a real struggle. The antibiotics they are giving her are not doing anything, and her fever has been almost uncontrollable. So has her pain. She is in such severe pain that it makes her retch and scream. They have her on morphine, but sometimes the pain gets through. It has been very hard on all of us. My mother flew out from Seattle to help me with my son during this time, and DH and I have spent basically every minute at the hospital. Last night he forced me to come home to switch out the supply of clothes we have and take a real shower, not the spongebaths I had been doing. His turn is tonight.

My daughter'sname is Emily. She is only 4 years old and has been healthy all of her life until now. This has been so hardon her little body, but she manages to smile still every day. The nurses are in love with her, and her bright redhair. And whenever she is sent to radiology everyone stops her on the way down to admire and tell her how cute she is. It has def been the highlight of her stay. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. We need her back at home, and it has been tough on all of us.

I got goose bumps when I read your post. I'm so sorry Emily is seeing it rough. Please give her a hug for me and keep us posted.

Amy, I will keep Emily in my prayers. I have a 3 year old. They are strong little creatures. I just know in a few days you will be spending all your energy just trying to keep her in the bed for some rest.

I's so sorry Emily and the rest of your family are going through this...there is nothing harder for a mom to take than her children being really ill. You'd do it for her in a heartbeat if you could, I know. All of you will be in my prayers, and just remember that God holds Emily in his loving hand.

Any I am so sorry to hear that your little Emily is so sick I can only imagine what you all are going through. It is just as hard on the family memebers as it is the sick memeber. I sit back and watch it as I am working at the hospital. I trust that you have very caring medical staff that is there for you as well as your little darling. My prayers are with all of you and her speedy recovery. Soon she will be back at home bouncing all over the house nonstop. (((((hugs)))). Hope that she is better very very soon!

I did wonder where you were! I'm so sorry to hear about Emily! My thoughts and prayers are with you guys! Glad she's getting all that good attention at the hospital. You guys take care of yourselves.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. This place is great for them. I have asked for them several times and I know that is what brought us through.

Your little angel will be back to old self in no time. Hang in there mom.

When my daughter was 15 she was in a horrible automobile accident in which her boyfriend was killed and she was in intensive care for 2 mo. It is exhausting for everyone involved. God will watch over you all.

My Emily is 5 and she and I will say prayers tonight for you and your Emily.

I got access to the computer lounge here at the hospital for the employees to check my email. I am sitting here crying reading all of the warm wishes and responses. Thank you all. You have no idea how hard this has been. Today I just wanted to go home because I am so tired and frustrated, but I just don't want to leave her alone. The night I spent away she got really scared and cried most of the night. I feel so guilty, but I know I needed the break. We will just be happy to have her home.

The Antibiotics that she is now on seem to be doing some good by this mornings tests, so it looks like part of our prayers have been answered.

Thank you all again. The LBT family is a large one, and as I keep telling her, she has so many people praying for her, God is sure to hear about it. She is in high spirits, even with everything going on, and has been officially deemed the Princess of Pediatrics by the nursing staff. They came in this morning and did a mini coronation ceremony for her. No kidding! One of the nurses spent most of last night making her a crown, and another a little sign for the door. She is going to get a big head after all of this. LOL

Still staying strong...all of us. Thank you all for the PM's and the posts with prayers and well wishes. You will all get to see a message from the princess herself when we are all done. :eek:
