Hello! I need a little help or advice. Had my lapband since 2006. I lost 40 pounds which 30 I've kept off. Since then I've had 2 children. Had many issues with the band. I have an appointment next week with my Dr. I to plan on getting it removed. I'm looking to get Gastric Bypass Surgery. I do know already my insurance will cover it like they did my lapband. My question and concerns are what is the process? Do I have to do all the testing all over again. Is the process the same as getting the lapband approval? Also do they do the lap band removal the same day as the bypass? I'm pretty clueless to this so any info is appreciated . Thanks in advance

Heya Bexley. I got pregnant 3 months after being banded. My husband and I tried for years to have a baby. But after losing 27 lbs I guess helped. Would say I wasn't even near being restricted. I had only 2 fills. This is the reason I think I didn't even need an unfill. Kind of nice to know after having my baby that I have the lap band. Good luck on trying. ))))))))))))

Thank you so much ! Well don't lose hope. The extra weight I was carrying was the reason I had trouble for years getting pregnant. We tried for sooooooooooo long and then I lost some weight and bam it happened! Can't say I had any complications. Will say I was watched carefully. In my 3rd month found out had gestational diabetes. So I was sorta of labeled high risk. My diabetes was controlled with diet. <~~ Which I really watched and I think that was the reason for the low weight gain. I wish you well and thanks for the wonderful response

Thank you all !!! Sorry took me so long to respond. Been trying to get some kind of routine going... and it isn't going as I planned lol. About my son he is just delicious ! His name is Michael Vincent and was 7lbs 4 Oz. He is a good baby so far ( crosses fingers). I hope everyone is doing well. I can't wait to get back on schedule. I go on Monday to see what is necessary for me to get fills and back on track !!

Hello. I'm back after having my baby. I now have a beautiful baby boy. I'm excited to get back onto the losing track again. I'm curious to see how other pregnant bandsters got back on track. Happy to say I only gained 8lbs. Also wondered how long are you able to get filled after having a baby. Any help is greatly appreciated !

Hello Post Pregnancy Bandsters. I have a question for those who just had a baby while banded. How soon after the blessid arrivals were you able to get an adjustment. And how hard was it to get back in the groove of the lap band frame mind. Thank you all.

Congrats !! I got pregnant 3 months after LBS. Kind of took a detour to my weight loss journey but my husband and I have been trying to have another baby for many years. Will continue my lap band journey after my precious son is born in March. Enjoy your pregnancy and listen to your Dr. Rest when you can. But enjoy this special time in your life. ~ hug ~

Congrats to you and your new baby. I'm due in March. I lost 27 pounds before getting pregnant and my mind was totally in the right frame. Luckily I havent gained much weight. I feel very lucky knowing after I deliver my baby that I can go back to this great plan of losing weight. May I ask how long after you delivered did you get adjusted. Congrats again !!

I am 32 weeks pregnant. I got pregnant 3 months after LBS. I battled years of infertility due to my irregular periods. And my husband and I were thrilled with the news of having a baby. So I do think this is due to weight loss. I didn't have to many fills yet being only 3 months into the process. My OB and Lap band Dr agreed not unfill me. I am able to eat any food which I think means I never was fully restricted. My 3rd month also found that I have gestation diabetes. Which means I now test my blood several times and day and controlls my diabetes with diet. I also see a perinatalogist every 2 weeks who monitors the growth of my baby. Who is growing wonderfully and is very healthy. So far I've gained a total 0f 7 pounds and I feel wonderful.

I'm so happy everything went okay. I've been doing pretty good so far. I gained 10 pounds so far i'm thinking is from the progesterone ive been taking. I was wondering if i can be nosey.. did you have a c section or natural? thanks !!
