Hello Again,,,
Hello all,,, I've had my band for 6 years now... Last recent history,,as far as memory serves me.. Got a fill in 12/07 I think,, and 12/08 another fill,, reflux throughout the year,, 12/10 went in for an unfill,, then just went in 11/14/11 for a lil bit of a fill as since 3/10 I have gained 32lbs, with all but 7 of those lbs by 2/11. Now the chaos,, Married 2/10, Bronchitis for 4 months, with antibiotics, Prednisone 3 times. 3/10 Car accident, Prednisone x17 days, 5/10 surgery, 6/10 another surgery, 01/11 pregnant, 3/11 miscarriage, D&E surgery.. And now Fibromyalgia diagnosed... So I went from 226 down to 142 now up to 174 I cant take much for the reflux with trying to get pregnant,, and munching on tums several times a day is not an option either.. so now I must get a lil bit taken out. I've only gone in for fills or unfills when needed, and having been a single mom,, it was only because I couldnt afford to go as "needed" Its a 2.5 hour drive(gas too) to Dr Rehnke's office and 150 a fill/unfill.. I had no insurance, and now what I have doesnt cover it.. So there ya have it.. So I figure, I'll check in back here as I was researching my reflux after a fill. I just hope that I dont have to get all of my fill I just got- removed,, as that is a waste of money,, and I dont have much restriction and lots of growling hungry tummy pains with out it.. I tried it this past year.. its a no go,, lol So hello to all from the I feel fat again and not happy club.. Going in tomorrow to have a lil bit removed. / 11/25/11 UPdate... I did get a little bit removed.. Still have some burning acid pains,, but hopefully it will go away after the tummy has had time to settle from being a bit too snug. I did lose 2 pounds though.. down to 172.. Ugh, I've seen these numbers before,, but not since 2007.... Lap Band 8/30/05 DR Rehnke Dr Baum Empire BCBS-Paid for

Info on my fill..please
No, my Dr doesnt use floro, he has me drink while filling and backs it out some til it -Water passes through. HotLikeMe on here has a lot of the same problems as far as eating except super soft foods, but since she didnt lose much he said that obviously something is going down so he didnt remove any... The bad part is it is about a 2 hr drive up there to him... And I start working overnights tomorrow night... It was something like .2 both times...then 1.8 the 3rd. I will call them tomorrow.

Info on my fill..please
:phanvan HI all, I just got a fill this past Thursday. It is the most put in at one time the first 2 times were only .? and this time was 1.8. Everything went down fine when I had left the office, drank over 32oz of Water while getting fill. I did my 48 hours of liquids, and more. I cannot drink anything cool or cold w/out pain. It hurts and feels like my tummy is spasming flipping out. And then I burp up what I drank. I have tried bites of food, only about the size of my thumb nail nibbles, once of chicken, once of super thin sliced ham- lunch meat, and another time hamburger loaded with ketchup for sliding down. It hurts and then I start sliming and get super nauseated like I have to Throw up. So far I have been able to not do that. I have had Wonton Soup w/ no wontons, so broth, hot tea, hot latte, and that is the only thing that does not hurt. I havent had this before. So it is new to me.. Is it common? My friend has the same problem more or less as far as not being to eat very much of solid foods... It also seems as if I have some reflux too. I did have that before my first fill, but it went away about a week after that. So is this a normal thing, maybe just irritated? I am chewing tums now too.... According to my scale I have lost 4 lbs since Thursday...

Hi-checking in here
Hey, THanks Jack,,, I am doing pretty good.... I just got my 3rd fill this past Thursday. He put 1.8 in the most I have ever had at one time, the first two were like .2 I am most certainly restricted. I did my 48 hrs of liquids and now ,,,nah uh,, its still liquids.. My band didnt like me trying anything at all. So I figured since I didnt have a fill like this that I will do the liquids a few more days and ease back into foods....:hungry:

Are Fills Covered by Insurance?
My Dr Charges 600 for the fill to my insurance company, it is billed as a surgical procedure. I end up paying 72 for it after the insurance pays the negotiated rate since they are on my plan...

Mushies
I thought that was what I was supposed to eat also,,, but then my Dr himself told me anything that I can chew to total mush.. but said to stay away form red meats still.... So ask what your Dr means for sure.. But I feel full after 1-3 bites. I get that deep breath and sigh...The only real problem with most beans is that there are way to many carbs in them.. so be careful and good luck to you...
